FFS Cup

FFS Cups – Members and Non-Members Now Open

Fantasy Football Scout is pleased to announce two more Cup competitions to see us through until the end of the season.

We are launching our 14th open-to-all tournament, along with a tenth Members competition.

We are putting up £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers for the final top three managers in both tournaments.

Non-members can sign up to the open tournament here.

Our members can sign up to both tournaments, via entry forms here and here.

The roll call of former cup winners looks like this: donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC, Mark, Leon Harris and our reigning champion, A Manager Has No Name.

As former winners, those listed will gain a bye to the first round of the tournament should they enter with the same username.

While in our members cup, our winners list is as follows:

Waltzingmatildas, Fuzzy Dunlop, Kippax Kickers , Acquafresca, Trigg and the current champion, Ola Svanheld.

Again, those listed above will gain a bye to the first round proper of the Members Cup should they enter with the username listed.

If you’re new to our cup competitions, read on for an FAQ, offering all the details.

How do the cup competitions work?

The FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall FPL rankings after the tie will progress.

When do they start?

The qualifying round for both Cups will take place in Gameweek 29, with the first round running in Gameweek 30.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to 10.30am on Monday March 27, when we’ll stop entry and make the first round draws shortly after.

The first round will consist of 512 teams and, as usual, all the previous winners who enter will gain a bye into the first round draw, where they will join the top scorers from Gameweek 29.

Previous winners must enter with the same usernames listed above to gain their bye.

How do I enter?

Enter the open-to-all FFS Cup via the entry form here.

Enter the open-to-all FFS Members Cup via the entry form here. This form is only visible to Members and you will need to log into the members area to view the form.

You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team id at the point of entry – please be sure to click the link to verify that your team is correct before confirming. If you FPL team is incorrectly entered, we cannot amend this at a later date.

You entry is only confirmed once you have confirmed your FPL team Id as part of the process.

To check that you’re entered correctly, please scan the list of entries.

The open-to-all FFS Cup list is here.

The Members FFS Cup list is here.

How do I find my FPL team Id?

Your FPL Id is your unique Id for your FPL team. This is found via your Gameweek History page – the link to which is found in the right hand menu under your FPL team strip. When you visit your Gameweek History you will see a number in the URL (as opposed to the XXX below).

https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/entry/XXX/history

Place this 1-7 digit number or your Gameweek History URL in the FPL id field on the entry form.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round cups will be published shortly after March 27 and then weekly, after the completion of each Gameweek, from that point on.

What is the Gameweek Schedule?

Both these cup competitions will be played out according to the following Gameweek schedule:

FFS Cups Round Dates
Qualifying – Gameweek 29

Round 1 – 512 teams – Gameweek 30
Round 2 – 256 teams – Gameweek 31
Round 3 – 128 teams – Gameweek 32
Round 4 – 64 teams – Gameweek 33
Round 5 – 32 teams – Gameweek 34
Round 6 – 16 teams – Gameweek 35
Quarter-Final – 8 teams – Gameweek 36
Semi-Finals – 4 teams – Gameweek 37
Final and third place play-off – 2 teams – Gameweek 38

When are the fixtures released?
The fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline. The first round draw will be made and published shortly after March 27.

Prizes

Overall prizes

1st Place: £200 Amazon voucher
2nd Place: £100 Voucher
3rd Place: £50 Voucher

Do I have to enter if I’m previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed, we will need to record your entry again. A a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a FFScout username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament. Ideally, you will already have a username with us but this is not essential to enter. You must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles. You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament, should you do so without permission, or should you enter multiple teams or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from a tournament at any stage.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So i was in a hurry to bring in Kane and now he is injured. Have Llorente and Lukaku as the other 2 forwards. Who should i bring in for Kane?

Or save? and play Barkley/King as 4th and 5th mid

Presently working on possible WC team and would appreciate views as below. Cannot decide best keeper to have along with Pickford

    Pickford Caballero
    Walker Valencia Alonso Mawson Cedric
    Sanchez Mane Siggy Alli TCarroll
    Costa Lukaku Gabbi

Which combo would you choose for long term? Presently on A 1

    A Caballero
    B Forster
    C De Gea
    D Cech

1 Cedric (only affordable with Cabellero)
    2 Yoshida
    3 Holebas
    4 Kone

    Better option?

    A) Brunt ➡ Valencia (-4)
    B) Snodgrass ➡ Son (-4)
    C) None

I'm worried both Valencia and Son could be rotated for GW30 as one plays in South Korea and the other plays in South America 3 days before kick off.

If Chelsea win tonight, it would allow

United to have DGW's in GW34 and GW37
Chelsea to have a DGW in GW37
Southampton to have a DGW in GW37 and on a CL night (v Arsenal makes sense as they have 3 games that need rearranging).

If United win, it would allow

United to have a DGW in GW37 and on a CL night (v City, Southampton or Burnley)
Chelsea v Watford to be played as part of a DGW34 or DGW37
    Southampton to have a DGW's in GW34 and GW37

Yes. Long term Costa is clearly the better option imo but the gamble is that short term will Vardy(whu, STO, SUN) outscore Costa's guaranteed 12-18pts? Not out of the realms of possibility 🙂

So because some people (not using my justification as a defender is a long term pick) chose Fuchs over Alonso this means picking Vardy over Costa is doomed to fail? 😉

It comes down to this. Vardy is a high variance, relatively "explosive'' player and over a short period of time things are even more unpredictable... Costa we likely know what he'll get... it's quite a measured punt I think, I'm not necessarily advocating it but you can see the reasoning especially if people are chasing 😀

Not saying choosing Fuchs over Alonso shows us that Vardy move is bad. It could be a great punt but if you can get Costa i would rather have him just saying this.

You been watching Vardy these last few games? He's the perfect differential right now.

I can afford that with Deeney but would really like a Chelsea and an Arsenal player. Mane and Rondon > Sanchez and Costa? Thanks.

Away from home against the top 6 this season Mane has been poor so far his 2 hauls against top 6 sides came at home to Tottenham and Arsenal. Mane out.

Could be very exciting then. Or Son, but Eriksen is on pretty much all other set pieces...

Should I WC this team? Was trying to save, but assuming the worst for Kane, I could have four key players out:

    Heaton, Robinson
    Alonso, Coleman, Baines, Pieters, Maguire,
    Mane, Firmino, Siggy, King, Fletch
    Kane, Ibra, Lukaku

Ship for Hazard, KDB playing a more deepe role this season having less of an impact on the attacking output

Cant afford Costa and Sanchez and I already have hazard so i dont think i need triple chelsea especially when they arent scoring 3 or 4 goals a game

Anichibe > Costa, or poss Vardy if your rival has the Chelsea man, or Phillips > Alli or Sanchez, and play 2 up top?

Phillips to Sanchez was the move I was looking at and getting rid of Mane as his away form against top 6 is poor
