FFS Cup

The Scout Cups Reminder

With 13 days remaining until domestic action resumes, we thought we’d remind you of the two Fantasy Football Scout cups that are still open to enter.

As mentioned last week, we have launched our 14th open-to-all tournament, along with a tenth Members competition.

We are offering up £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers for the final top three managers in both tournaments.

Non-members can sign up to the open tournament here.

Our members can sign up to both tournaments, via entry forms here and here.

Timetable

The qualifying round for both Cups was Gameweek 29, with the first round running in Gameweek 30.

It’s not too late to get involved, though, if you haven’t done so already.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to 10.30am on Monday March 27 – ie, a week today – when we’ll stop entry and make the first round draws shortly after.

The first round will consist of 512 teams and, as usual, all the previous winners who enter will gain a bye into the first round draw, where they will join the top scorers from Gameweek 29.

Previous winners must enter with the same usernames to gain their bye.

Both these cup competitions will be played out according to the following Gameweek schedule:

FFS Cups Round Dates
Qualifying – Gameweek 29
Round 1 – 512 teams – Gameweek 30
Round 2 – 256 teams – Gameweek 31
Round 3 – 128 teams – Gameweek 32
Round 4 – 64 teams – Gameweek 33
Round 5 – 32 teams – Gameweek 34
Round 6 – 16 teams – Gameweek 35
Quarter-Final – 8 teams – Gameweek 36
Semi-Finals – 4 teams – Gameweek 37
Final and third place play-off – 2 teams – Gameweek 38

When are the fixtures released?
The fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline. The first round draw will be made and published shortly after March 27.

Anyone disappointed at the fixtures in 34 needs to look at the scores of Pieters and Grant in their DGW. There was one year having that Hull striker payed off enormously (can't remember who).

Just because your favourite players (Costa/Sanchez/Agüero/Allí etc) aren't there, doesn't mean there aren't huge points to gain. This is where the people on here can actually beat the casuals in their MLs as they're unlikely to recognise this opportunity for what it is.

How many players are you considering? I think I'll have 5 max for the double in 34.

I'm thinking of a fair few. Sahko, PVA, Zaha, Negredo, Gibson, Ibra, Valencia etc. Lots of good options. Palace will have to fight to stay up as will Boro.

This is a good point actually, there is often a surprise package, totally unexpected. If there's one in 34 it is Palace... not Boro.

The Hull striker was N'Doye, think Dawson got a monster haul too.

Those who have WC left can take some punts...

Unfortunately I dont have that luxury to justify getting Palace or Boro players for hits

That's very true. I think a few punts can definitely cleaned up before the loading for 37.

True. It's hard to see someone like Zaha or Puncheon haul vs Liverpool and Spurs though. Would need big luck

Don't need a haul, just an assist in each or more and a few bonus points. I'd hardly say Liverpool are airtight at the back.

I think players that neglect to stock up on Palace and Boro assets won't be hurt too much.

Could be right, just think people have been too hasty to dismiss. Look at which players make the weekly dream teams, there's a lot of chaff in there. Don't think anyone saw Dawson turning over Arsenal last week- yet the points are still there.

Plan for Gw30 is to do Aguero -> Costa and play this team.

    Jaku / Heaton
Coleman - Walker - Alonso (Olsson, Baines)
    Siggy - Lanzini - Eriksen - Mane - King
    Lukaku - Costa (Llorente)

Is it worth to also get Alli ?
    A: Lanzini -> Alli
    B: King -> Alli

    Heaton Jakupovic
    Alonso Brunt Baines Valencia Friend
Mane Alli Sterling Sigurdsson De Roon
    Costa Lukaku Llorente
4.1 itb... I feel like I have so many changes to make... Like Costa - >Vardy or maybe Baines /Brunt - Walker.... Confused.... Any suggestions on what my priorities should be?

Or you could bump Sterling up to Alexis but tbh most won't cap him and he's a bit crocked and Sterling can run riot v that Gooner defence so maybe in your case Alexis can wait.

What is not to like ? You just need to tinker over the next few game weeks to get a few Man U and maybe a few other DGW34 players

      Jakupovic
      Alonso Baines Valencia
      Mane Alli Sterling Sigurdsson
      Costa Lukaku Llorente

      Heaton, Brunt Friend De Roon

So how do fellow wildcarders feel, happy with your decision to WC early?
The injury scares to Sanchez & Haz put a slight dampener on it I guess, but hopefully they will both be fine. Considering my fails on Hazard, Deeney, Walker & Gabbi, I was still 19 points better off in the end.
Looking at GW34 doubles, there's nothing that excites me much there apart from getting Ibra in and perhaps a cheap Boro and/or Palace punt (Fabio/Zaha). Valencia, Ibra and two more is probably more than enough?

Wildcarded a few weeks back to no advantage. Not bothered as have time enough to get enough players in for gw 37 bench boost.

Hmm I wonder will he consider playing with all 3 (Bailly, Rojo & Jones). That would only increase Valencia's appeal as a WB though I guess.

The problem with Utd is they're not very good from an attacking pov bar Ibra. It's all a bit meh and it shouldn't be. That's why Valencia is so good, they don't run riot and he can get solid points with cleanies or w/o just grinding it out.

Herrera after his suspension could be a punt if looking for cheap mid. He looks as nailed as any MUN player. Hasn't done much points wise but he is capable of the odd goal and assist.

    aguero, lukaku, defoe

    sub: foster, king, love, amat

Having two defenders not playing is making things hard for you. I'd do:

      Love to Yoshida
      Brunt to Valencia

This means you can bench Baines this week.

Comnsidering activating wildcard because not keen on my current squad's fixtures over coming weeks (got a lot of West Brom, Everton etc) and so looking at a plan for the season to try and cover all the doubles too. Does this look as though I've got this right from now to the end of season? I acknowledge the doubles in 36 & 37 are not yet confirmed.

    Confirmed doubles:
    Week 34
Crystal Palace: liv (a), TOT (h)
    Middlesbrough: bou (a), SUN (h)
Man Utd: bur (a), mci (a)

Expected doubles (to be confirmed around 7th April)
    Week 36 (TBC)
    Arsenal: MUN (h), sot (a)
    Southampton: liv (a), ARS (h)

    Week 37 (TBC)
    Arsenal: sto (a), SUN (h)
    Sunderland: SWA (h), ars (a)
    Chelsea: wba (a), WAT (h)
    Watford: eve (a), che (a)
Man Utd: tot (a), sot (a)
    Tottenham: MUN (h), lei (a)
    Leicester: mci (a), TOT (h)
    Southampton: mid (a), MUN (h)
Man City: LEI (h), WBA (h)
West Brom: CHE (h), mci (a)

No doubles: Liverpool, Everton, Burnley, Bournemouth, Swansea, Hull, Stoke, West Ham

Week 35 maybe for Southampton v Arsenal. Can't see any date before that which seems likely.

          Yes correct.

GW36 would be better for those WCarding in GW36 and BB in GW37 because you can get the Arsenal and Soton doubles in GW36 without having to plan for them before hand

I think I'll lose much of the advantage of the wildcard if I wait that long. Think there are points to be gained now and I can plan for doubles also. My team has been well set up for the last few weeks but I might start to struggle if I don't act now.

Wildcarding now can give me a minimum of 4 players doubling for week 34, plus I'll probably have Yoshida, Sanchez and Gabbiadini (depends on injury) in my squad so that's 3 already for 35/36.

I reckon from my wildcard I'll have at least 10/11 set for a double in 37 so it gives me loads of time to make transfers to bench boost.

              Current team is:

              Heaton, Foster
              Alonso, Baines, Brunt, Jones, Yoshida
              Mane, Firmino, Sigurdsson, King, Davies
              Aguero, Lukaku, Carroll

              Issues as I see it:
              1. Need to find space for Spurs players.
              2. Need big guns like Sanchez and Ibra in coming weeks.
              3. Want 4/5 double players in week 34.
              4. Bad fixtures for WBA, Bournemouth & Everton (have 6 of these).
              5. Unlikely to get many points from keepers due to fixtures.
              6. Want to end Mane & Firmino double up (one will stay in medium term).
              7. Aguero not returning enough for 12.7.

Don't think you need to WC that tbh. Many are in the same boat and I see more advantage in Wildcarding in GW35/36 depending on when Arsenal get their first DGW.

Only issue is that you can have loss of form and injuries between now and GW36, but a WC in GW36 pretty much insulates you from that - it is a fresh reboot of the team at that point in time, not a best guess from a few weeks before.

Personally I like the idea of picking the team I want from now onwards with hits if needed and ripping by it up in GW36, rather than try to nurse a team through to GW37

Not much in it probably though so good luck

    Jak
    Valencia Alonso Coleman Yoshida
    Mane Siggy Alli Pedro
Lukaku Costa (Henessey - Wasilewski - Fletcher - Gabbi - 0 FT and 3.9 ITB)

Again, why should I bring in and let go of in the near future to prepar myself for the DGWs? Is a WC on GW35 suitable?
