FFS Cup

FFS Cups – Results & Second Round Draws

This afternoon we reveal who has made it through to the second round of both our Fantasy Premier League cup competitions.

In our open to all cup, reigning champion A Manager Has No Name saw off Flying Nugget 50-41 despite being more than 30,000 behind him in the overall rankings going into the clash.

The enigmatically-titled victor, who is placed at 30,453, now has himself another tricky tie, against community regular Krul runnings, who is 9,490 places above him.

He wasn’t the only cup winner to progress, with both Mark and I overcoming Sleep Talk and Virus in the mind respectively.

Mark, who is 472nd in the rankings, now faces 7,717-placed Jimmyt281, while I’ve got my work cut out to defeat 76,423-ranked Not Much Klopp, given my lowly 355,537 placing.

Former champions Donnellyc, Gribude and Wild Rover also prevailed. Of this trio, 323,577-placed Donnellyc has arguably the toughest encounter when he squares up to the 7,798-ranked SpartaBhoy.

Meanwhile, 67,661-placed Gribude faces 5,199-ranked Footopia and Wild Rover takes on Kabukkinen, who at 25,793, is 18,154 places ahead of our community’s resident Blackburn fan.

Sadly, we say goodbye to former winner MCH at this stage, who was defeated 49-42 by upthemiddle.

In the first round’s live Hall of Fame top ten derby, Philman, who is 1,071 in the overall standings and seventh in our list of all-time best FPL managers, lost 68-34 to Dronny Imp (aka David Meechan), who is tenth in our elite listings and has moved up to 7,275 in the world.

Legomane, who is 3,755 places behind David, has drawn the short straw to become this top manager’s next opponent.

Another to fall victim to the fixture list is FetchUp, who is placed 8,461 in the world but next faces Hana, who at 52 overall is the competition’s highest-ranked manager.

The full second round draw can be found here.

Meanwhile, in the Members’ Cup former winner Trigg, who is 134,835 in the world, won a close encounter with Bangkok Canary 59-53 and next takes on 56,151-ranked Fenghh.

FFScout Members’ League leader and 34th-placed Billy Ketsu was another victor. After overcoming Emckay, he now encounters Doctor101, who is ranked 56,236.

Other eye-catching ties include Jafooli’s clash with another community regular VS10, while Hana makes it through in this contest as well and takes on FFScout moderator Spencer .

The full second round draw can be found here.

There is £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers up for grabs for the final top three managers in both tournaments.

Good luck to all those involved, and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes simply click this link.

Koeman has said Lukaku is tired and this is impacting his performance levels.

Therefore will Lukaku be given a rest in his next game which is against Manchester United?

Jeez. What's so hard about that, sweetcheeks?

still not getting it. my initial comment "rested for what?" whenever a player is rested, it is almost always with the view to an upcoming bigger game. So what game would he be rested for? Everton are only a few points off United and could catch them. But that's cool, we'll just rest our best player because he might be a bit tired when we play them...

Koeman is capable of doing anything at this stage. I suppose it's Irelands fault that lukaku is tired .he's lost the plot.

Afternoon chaps. Llorente, defender, mid or save? 1.7m ITB and 1FT

    Heaton
    Baines - Luiz - Nyom
    Sanchez - Alli - Siggy - Cout
    Aguero - Llorente - Lukaku

    DeRoon - Mawson - Chambers

    A) Llorente > 8.2m
    B) Baines + Llorente > Davies + 9m (-4)
    C) DeRoon > Zaha (play AOA)
    D) Aguero + Llorente + Baines > Ibra + Vardy + Davies (-8) crazy but think could pay off
    E) Save
    F) Anything else

getting rid of Aguero for a hit may seem a bit nuts but if i do Kun Barkley Llorente -> Sanchez Ibra Barnes surely it makes some sense?? I would play Barnes this week and next then ship out or play 3-5-2

I've done something very similar, Mane and Lorente to Sanchez and Barnes for -4 but am keeping Aguero until after Hull, then shipping for Kane/Ibra. I am scared not to have Ibra this week against that Everton defence though.

I got rid of Aguero for a hit this week (to Vardy). Still feel good about it as has allowed me to get Sanchez in this week. I'd say its worth it. Even if short term he outscores ibra it allows for you to have Sanchez who will outscore Barkley no doubt.

Team full of injuries (4), a lot of DGW players rising in price so will be harder to build a team full of them later on. DGWers have decent fixtures at the moment so you are still benefitting.
