FFS Cup

FFScout Cups – Results and Third Round Draws

Our two Fantasy Football Scout cup competitions are progressing at lightning pace as we look back on the events of the midweek’s second round and ahead to round three, which kicks off on Saturday.

There were mixed fortunes for some former winners of our open to all cup, with reigning champion A Manager Has No Name among those to go through to the next round. He saw off community regular Krul runnings to set himself up with a clash with What Divock?!, who, with an overall rank of 69,987, is 42,738 places higher.

Among the other champions, Wild Rover and Donnellyc also prevailed, as did Mark, who squares up to tkmlim.

Of this trio, Mark – who is ranked 542 overall – can feel the most confident, given that his opponent is placed 66,102 places behind him.

However, the same cannot be said of 42,422-ranked Wild Rover, who faces the cup’s highest placed manager pitstop1 – he sits in 123rd spot.

There is also a seismic gap in the tie involving 284,826-ranked donnellyc and his opponent Who Divock Is Origi, who is comfortably in the top 10,000 at 6,139.

Sadly, I exit at this early stage, with Not Much Klopp’s score of 70 proving too much for my 50-point tally. Gribude joins me through the door, after being defeated 56-50 by Footopia.

Joining Mark as one of our live Hall of Fame representatives to survive is Dronny Imp, aka David Meechan, who progressed past Legomane 65-59 to take on Jurgen Can Karius, who, at 931,186, is the clear underdog given David’s pedigree and current 4,767 rank.

Another elite manager to make the cut is My Pretty Pony, aka Peter Kouewenberg, who is third in our live Hall of Fame and earns a third round encounter with Prophet.

This is another favourable clash for one of our top veterans, given that Peter’s opponent is ranked 262,527 places below his 1,567 ranking.

Top Marx, whose regular community analysis of the Hall of Fame involves some enlightening conversations with Peter, also makes it through and takes on Citizen Z.

The full third round draw can be found here.

Meanwhile, in our Members cup there will be a new name on the trophy after both former winners were dispatched.

Fuzzy Dunlop was beaten 60—56 by community veteran Parm, while Trigg was sent packing by Fenghh.

Billy Ketsu had a week to forget, after losing his place at the summit of the FFScout Members league and tasting defeat in his cup draw against Doctor 101.

Sleep Talk, who was beaten in round one of the open to all cup by Mark, is having better luck in the Members Cup, where he overcame Ma3jdw. This 38,164-ranked manager will now face 52,905-placed AT in the third round.

Another eye catching tie is community regulars FrankieTheGent and Hybrid.power’s clash.

There is also the chance of a giant killing for 56,534 ranked Rickytoso, who squares up to the Members cup’s highest-ranked manager Pukka, who is placed at 78th in the world.

The full third round draw can be found here.

There is £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers up for grabs for the final top three managers in both tournaments.

Good luck to all those involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

So how long will Jones and Smalling be out for, does anyone know?. Have Rojo in on a WC

Got this with 0.0 to spare..

    Valdes Pickford
    Yoshida Ward Davis Rojo Stones
    Alli Erik Haz Walcott King
    Ibra Negrado Kun

Defence is slightly dodgy, might be able to get better results there. Not sure whether to go for Haz and Walcott or Sanchez + Pedro.. This way round is at least on budget, Davis as well should I not bother? if Kane is fit next week.

Thinking of doing Siggy > Alli in this team for a FT

    Foster (Pickford)
    Walker, Mawson, Alonso, (Baines*), (Stephens)
    Sane, Sanchez, Siggy*, Firmino, (Morrison*)
    Llorente*, Lukaku, Ibra

Baines and Morrison need fixing, probably with Yoshida & De Roon, but that's for another week.

Scared of not having any Spurs cover for any longer

  4. And nothing else Mata'…
