FFS Cup

FFS Cups – Results and Quarter-Final Draws

We take some time this evening to find out who has made it through to the quarter-finals of our two Premier League cup competitions.

Topping the bill among the last eight ties is a Live Hall of Fame top ten derby between Mark, whose rank of 297 makes him the highest-placed remaining manager, and the 423-ranked My Pretty Pony (aka Peter Kouewenberg). While Mark has the rank advantage, Peter’s second placing in the Live Hall of Fame, compared to Mark’s sixth spot, could see him prevail.

Choppers13, who conquered Patio Kev in round five, takes on Team Fosu-Mensah, who is at 3,474 – 2,506 places behind his top 1,000-ranked opponent.

The third quarter-final looks likely to be another close affair, with Sleepysi ranked just 960 behind 1,192-placed Fouad Khan.

Given the current rank of the other six managers through, both 364,588-placed K3lviN and 229,821-ranked The Shaman will be breating a sigh of relief as they face each other in a clash of the competition’s lowest-ranked remaining managers by some distance.

The full quarter-finals draw can be found here.

Choppers13 is the Members cup’s highest ranked-manager – and the only one still in both competitions. He has, on the face of it, a far easier tie in the Members cup, when he takes on 132,642-ranked Barwood.

The giant-killing exploits of 46,996-placed rogerbarton have taken him into the quarter-finals. Fresh from seeing off an 88th-ranked Pukka in round four, Roger defeated 20,109-placed Dr Ennet in the final 16 to set up an encounter with aspern, another higher- ranked manager, who sits in 12,763,

Cheltnamshire lalala, who currently sits at 3,056 and defeated community writer Kryten in the last 16, will square up to 59,241-ranked Malaikat Jahad.

Elsewhere, 13,579-placed Dynamic is the favourite in his quarter-final tie with Thecrystalball, who is the contest’s lowest-ranked manager at 171,998.

The full quarter final round draw can be found here.

There is £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers up for grabs for the final top three managers in both tournaments.

Good luck to all those involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes, click this link.

    Played around with WC and ended up with this, BB week after;

    Cech
    Monreal Yoshida Cahill
    Eriksen King Sane Hazard
    Costa Jesus Kane

    Caballero Bavies Stephens Capoue

Without Sanchez, this is best team I can have.

Rolling the dice and going without Sanchez or just testing the waters?

It is a formidable Sanchez-less side, for sure!

What about Bavies, Cahill, Capoue, Yoshida to Vertonghen, Alonso, Carroll, Holgate...worth it?

I WC last week and considered going Ozil for Sanchez so I could have Cahill. If I had the chance again that's what I would do / should have done.
Nice team. I don't think going without Sanchez is as bid a risk as a lot of people think it is. However I would have him for 37 if possible

That's the risk I will have to take to get Jesus in and try to catch my ML leader who leads with 32pts but does not have BB, with heavy investment upfront. This gives me
            the front 8 of:

Depends if he plays all the games. Hard to tell with Mustafi returning soon. At least Huth is nailed. Gabriel could end up playing the same amount as Huth, or less once Mustafi is back.

    Sanchez. Hazard. Alli. King. Zaha.
    Kane. Jesus. Gabbi.

Zaha an issue, but can't think of a replacement around his price point.

Tbh Hull at home in 37 isn't the worst fixture, so may keep in the end

I would doubt it. Keeper is the safest option

I have DDG so can't get the keeper. Kompany is an expensive bench player if he doesn't play, especially on BB!

Help please for gw 36 and gw 37

    A Koscielny Alonso and Gabbiadini
    B Montreal Cahill and Pedro

Ideally I d like Koscielny and Alonson but i would "decrease" in order to get Pedro, is that worth it ?

the name Pedro hasnt been mentionned a lot here but I just feel with chelseas s fixtures he s likely to do some damage...but so is Alonson..very tough one to call...

Kane has 5 away goals all season, less than 1 every 2 games even if you disregard the ones he was injured for. 3 of spurs remaining 4 fixtures are away from home. People looking to catch a leader may wanna think about losing him. Clearly he's still a good pick but if you wanna punt somethings gotta give

Agree, you would get shot down here for mentioning it though haha. I'm seriously considering keeping Alli & Eriksen and getting rid of Kane for Jesus next week.

I'll have to go without this week but gonna get both Caballero & Jesus next week. Tempted to go something like Hennessey + Kane + Gestede to Caballero + Jesus + Rashford for BB 37.

Hennesy to cab -4 Not sure about that. City concede too many too make that easy profit

Theyre looking more solid with Kompany back now though and the fix couldnt be much better really.

In saying that i could just do Kane + Gestede to Jesue + Defoe. Might Defoe be a better 37 punt than Rashford/Gabbi?

I think Costa is a better pick for the remaining fixtures, but given the nature of the run in, and what's at stake, Kane will probably defy the current pattern in statistics.

Both great options, I've got both and Jesus.

    SAF on Wayne Rooney:
“He’s a committed winner and this leads him to make sacrifices to the detriment of his individual performance. As a team player, he is absolutely fantastic.
“He tells me things like ‘I can play centre-half - I played there for my school, you know.’
“And I have to tell him, ‘Wayne, but we’re playing [Didier] Drogba today.’
“The attitude he’s got is a terrific asset to this club.”

Rooney at CB next game? 😀

    Caballero - Pickford
    Alonso - Monreal - Verthongen - Huth - Stephens
    Sanchez - Hazard - Eriksen - King - Albrighton
    Kane - Jesus - Anichebe

Lol trust me, I'm an arsenal fan and we've been rubbish. Mou will play for the draw. Could get something at Southampton, but certainly not expecting a thrashing. Chelsea on the other hand are just devastating right now
