Dugout Discussion – Manchester City vs Leicester City

Saturday hands us five more Gameweek 37 fixtures, with Man City welcoming Leicester to the Etihad in the lunchtime kick-off.

The most transferred in (217,000+) player for a pair of home clashes with the Foxes and West Brom, Gabriel Jesus retains his starting berth in an unchanged lineup as the fit-again Sergio Aguero warms the bench.

Meanwhile, Kevin De Bruyne’s 17-point haul at home to Palace last time out has also turned a few heads – the Belgian is the top target in midfield, with over 128,000 snapping up his services.

Jamie Vardy rolls up as the visitors’ form player. Since Craig Shakespeare took the helm, the Foxes frontman has racked up seven goals and five assists in ten outings – only 102,000 FPL managers have handed him the armband, with a home clash against Tottenham’s resilient rearguard also on his schedule next Thursday evening.

I hate this game. Weeks of planning smashed to bits in a couple of team sheets. I resign

Victor strikes me as such a imposing figure hopefully the man can impose himself on this dgw in a big way

Thoughts on a bench boost plan for next season..

Save 1st WC. In the 1st few weeks, take some hits, -8, -12. This is basically a mini WC for 20pts.

Use WC midway through (or later) the 1st half of the season. Stock on 4 or 5 teams with decent fixtures.

Form is much easier predicted at this stage of the season as its when we start predicting patterns, line ups, whipping teams and so on.

Bench boost the following week with your 15 players.

Given you have a very good idea of most likely team to get clean sheets, you could pick the best 3 to cover your 7 defenders.

You will have saved a free transfer into your BB week and then use the 2fts to shift funds and work back to 343 or 352 or whatever it is you using.

This means you've taken no hits, if it pays off and the 3 clean sheets come in, your bench boost is automatically worth 18pts from 3 defenders and whatever mid or forward you have on the bench.

This further saves the headache and hits made later in the season by trying to get 15 nailed on players, where form, rotation and motivation is very unpredictable.

Also allows you to focus on getting a good 11 out in your 2nd WC for dgw 37 and TC the best option going into the dgw.

Just a thought, obviously next season will be different but using it early could be a viable strategy. May win you manager of the month also which in my mini league is entry refunded.
