Dugout Discussion – West Ham vs Huddersfield

The Gameweek concludes at the London Stadium where West Ham are treated to their first home game of the campaign against Huddersfield Town.

At the start of the season, this appeared to be a fixture which would have seen us back the Hammers’ assets for returns. Three games in and the outlook is very different.

The Terriers turn up undefeated and with no goals conceded. That form has seen the likes of goalkeeper Jonas Lossl and defender Zanka pick up 8.4% and 10.4% ownership respectively. Meanwhile, playmaker Aaron Mooy is backed by 12.9% having produced a goal and an assist to this point.

But West Ham have the best-supported player on show tonight.

Chicharito is part of 1.4 million squads and is backed by 159,000+ (3.3%) with the captaincy.

Significantly, he’ll be supported by Andy Carroll in the West Ham attack, in what appears to be a 3-5-2 set-up deployed by the under pressure Slaven Bilic.

Joe Hart is the next best owned West Ham asset in action, although 71% of his 500,000 owners have chosen to bench him ahead of tonight’s clash.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Loads on here getting rid of Chicarito now, just as WHU have turned the corner and have WBA, SWA, BUR， BRI & Palace, 5 of their next 6 fixtures.

      Turned out to be a managerial stroke of genius from Bilic to replace him with Ayew. If he wants to play Carroll then he's better off flanked by Antonio and Ayew that's for sure.

      Not that I'm implying Chicharito is a rotation risk, just thinking out loud.

          The ends justify the means! It was a slightly tongue-in-cheek comment that it was a stroke of genius, but I do think that if Bilic wants to play Carroll he's better off with Chicharito on the bench.

      Exactly, I think many people are overlooking the fact tgat he hit the bar and created chances for others, he put kouyate on a plate at one point in the 2nd half, only for him to fluff the chance

      I'm 50/50 on this. As Laplana said Liverpool will score more than Leicester. But Vardy will have a much higher goal involvement for Leicester than Firmino for Liverpool.

      Get Moreno out of there. You just can't rely on their defence. Maybe squeeze an Eriksen or Alli for double spurs attack as they have great fixtures.

        Only way to get Eriksen is to sacrifice Lukaku to Morata and upgrade Salah or Mki. So as much as I would love Eriksen, I'm not sure almost 10m for him will be worth it

        Huddersfield I am genuinely concerned for when their promotion enthusiasm wears of (wish I could get someone other than Mooy)
        Stoke are just as unreliable as Liverpool. At least Moreno gets forward

    I have two 4.5 mids(RLC and Carroll) and 0.7 itb. Thinking to upgrade RLC

    Or should i go for Hegazi to 4.5 def and RLC to Gross for a hit?

      You are point chasing. No need to do those transfers if you can bench Hegazi this week because of rotation risk.

        I have Mee and a 4.0m defender on the bench.. so I don't think i have a good backup for Hegazi. Even RLC is injured

        So I'll go probably go Hunemeier(my 4.0 def) to 4.5 or upgrade RLC

        I'd agree extremely frustrating to watch as he's probably the hungriest player on my team for goals, 6 shots all blocked today. Still has two decent matches before awful games, so will downgrade him in a couple weeks probably. Thanks! 🙂

      Could always sell Tadic and hop on a bandwagon. Choupo-Moting seems to be the most popular pick. If it doesn't work out at least you'll certainly have a higher TV when you sell again.

      Yes. You get 0.1 for every 0.2 rise, and it's rounded down. (0.1 for 0.3 rise, 0.2 for 0.5 rise etc.)
