Technical Area – Budget Midfield Options

One key to a successful Fantasy season has always been the early discovery of a midfield gem.

The 2015/16 season saw Riyad Mahrez rise from relative obscurity to the heights of a 240-point season, while last campaign, Josh King’s 16 goals powered many Fantasy line-ups to the top of their respective mini-leagues.

After seven Gameweeks, we are beginning to accumulate sufficient data to begin making more confident assertions regarding a player’s underlying performance metrics.

This international break is, therefore, an ideal time to evaluate the potential candidates for the title of must-have budget midfielder this time around.

It also gives us the chance to roll out – for the first time in Technical Area – data on expected goals (xG) and assists (xA), a new source of information which will soon be available to our members.

    Please RMWCT!

    Ryan - Elliott
    Azpi - Davies - Otamendi - Ward - Naughton
    Eriksen - Sterling - Choupo-Moting - Gross - Loftus-Cheek
    Kane - Jesus - Vardy

4-3-3; with Ward and Naughton rotating, as well as Gross and Choupo-Moting.

Naughton (HUD), Naughton (LEI), Ward (NEW), Naughton (BHA), Ward (SWA).

I think that's a pretty good rotation. Only regrets are weak mids and not finding 0.5 for a Southampton defender.

    Fabianski - (elliot)
    Azpi,Stones,Jones,Davies,Ward
    Silva,Eriksen - (choupo,fellaini,king)
    Kane,Vardy,Jesus

    A) Fellaini > 4.9m mid

ok guys homing in on my WC

    Pope, Elliott
    Luiz, bavies, stones, mee, jones
    Hazard, silva, choupo, RLC, Surman
    Kane, Jesus, vardy

Leaves me with 0.2itb as I've had stones since gw1 but could always change to otamendi

over time theres a rough idea that Jesus will become morata when kin returns and hazard may get downgraded to pool midfielder in order to bring lukaku back with a change in fixtures

    any issues?

The other issue is defence and attack go hand in hand. If you are leaking one or two goals every game then opponents are going to push you all the way each game which in return could only mean less goals scored. Defenses will not throw in the towel. Bye bye chelsea

With or without Kante, I think Cesc will play. Either in central midfield, or up front left or right. He will definitely get assists against Palace.

If this is true then that has to spell alarm bells for any chelsea defensive cover. If there was ever a good reason not to invest in chelsea defence then this may be it. With so much alternatives it will be worth keeping an eye on this one and investing elsewhere for the time being.

Well I can feel, that Conte tells Alonso to keep running in the box, since they miss their 'Main Man Morata' - The MMM i call him. Had the same feeling before GW 1 when i wrote how Mounie would score, and be a good third striker option.
