Dugout Discussion – Leicester vs West Brom

Gameweek 8 concludes at the King Power Stadium with Leicester City hosting West Bromwich Albion.

The Fantasy Football community will be torn heading into this encounter, with allegiances split between the home attack and the Baggies backline.

Jamie Vardy is undoubtedly the star turn on show. Owned by 16.3% of managers, the five-goal striker was brought in by 294,000 ahead of Gameweek 8, the third most popular transfer target. He has goals in his last two in front of his own supporters, but is yet to score against West Brom at home in three attempts.

Elsewhere for the Foxes, Harry Maguire boasts an ownership of 7.4%, attracting just over 40,000 new managers prior to Saturday’s deadline. The centre-back has a goal and an assist from his three home appearances so far.

Ahmed Hegazi remains the most popular asset in the West Brom camp. Still part of 1.3 million squads, he’s been benched by 353,000 (26.9%) ahead of tonight’s clash.

Meanwhile, Ben Foster was due to be backed by an ownership of just over 800,000 but will play no part in tonight’s match having been ruled out with a knee problem. Over 347,000 of his managers named Foster in their starting XI and now turn to their reserve keeper.

      Defended coolly when needed (not often) and was the main set price target before the Algerian Kurgen came on. On the whole capable and composed, but Leicester were not impressive against a team who offered little but stubborn resistance and occasional, ineffective counterattacks

      Rugged centre back, I think of him as a younger Huth who's slightly better on the ball, just looks pretty awkward on it. Had a good shot on target and a header saved so as always a threat in the box.

      you'd have been far far better off with a playing 5.0 striker -- Ayew, Calvert-Lewin.

    I could opt to keep Lukaku in for one more week, or have Otamendi instead of Stones etc. I really like the balance, security of starts (given all are starters) & upcoming fixtures.

    However, given the Friday fixture this week it seems there's more propensity for price changes & flexibility if I waited until next GW?

      Zanka needs to go. Also try to get city midfield, maybe Sterling, instead of Ramsey. Mooy to Loftus-Cheek would be decent too and would free up the money needed.

      Play wild card if you have it.

      If not, and no money in bank, downgrade a striker to make cash to fix the defence. Take a couple of hits if you need to. Look at fixtures before picking

      Not a big risk to have a 6.7 mid who got 150 points last year. He will produce beyond his price point, as he now the best and main attacking threat on that team.

          That is the real risk. They looked good against Chelsea, and I’m guessing with some easier opponents, they may score a few more, and Zaha would likely be involved.

      In a bit of a pickle. Have exact funds to do Ritchie to Zaha but Zaha price rises and falls might push my hand a bit.

      Getting in Zaha for Newcastle game when Elliot is my keeper seems a bit counter-productive also.

    With Mendy out, I reckon City will stick with a 4-3-3 formation from now on, which raises the question if whether Both Jesus and Kun start in that system.

    Got very lucky this week. My bench saved me.

    What are people making of next week. Have 4 players from the Pool-Tottenham game. Another 0-0 like the Pool-United game will crush me. Only own Silva from City too.
