The ScoutCast – Episode 236 – Pepped

Restored to a five-strong squad, this week’s ScoutCast is still resonating from the shock of Man City’s seven-slice goal pie, served up by Pep at the expense of Stoke City.

That avalanche of goals and points fell into the laps of two of the ScoutCast crew, as Jonty and Andy bask in their post-Pep Wildcard success.

Others weren’t so fortunate, as we tell the tale of an unfortunate 11-point refresh and Az’s 32-point Gameweek misery that has since sparked his own Wildcard activity.

City dominate the community questions driving this 90-minute episode, while we also revisit the Harry Kane debate, fuelled by his latest Wembley misfire.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

    Elliot, Foster
    Davies, Jones, Ward, Naughton, Mbemba
    Salah, Sterling, Atsu, Brady, Carroll
    Lukaku, Kane, Lacazette

    1.9 in bank. 1FT. One FT used to get Sterling

    1 - Lacazette --> Aguero
    2 - Lacazette ---> Jesus
    3 - Lacazette ---> Morata
    4 - Brady ---> Chuop
    5 - Save

        that being said 2 or 3 could easily pay off this gw, so if you don't mind using up frees that could be profitable

      Other than Laca & Brady (Jesus Cho-Mo) same squad as mine.
      Davies and Laca are your main priorities
      I'm shipping out Davies to Sot

    Ideas on this lot?

    Elliot Fab
    Davies Luiz Otamendi Ward Cedric
    Hazard Sterling Richo Carroll RLC
    Kane Jesus Vardy

    1 FT, 0.1 in bank

    I guess pressers are important but anything for free or a hit stand out?

    Cheers.

      Davies, Jesus to 4.5 def, Aguero which also allows you Hazard, Vardy to Morata, Coutinho/Salah next week. Preferably a Bournemouth def, Francis, maybe Brighton/Stoke if you trust their defense.

        -8 a small price to pay for the Sterling, Coutinho, Kane, Aguero, Morata frontline which will serve you for a very long time.

            I thought Kun was rising tonight so already made the moves, however i'm quite confident he starts. All previous data suggests that Jesus is in for a 60 minute game, maybe even a benching.
            I doubt Pep will reveal anything in his press conference.

              If Aguero is definitely ruled out by Pep, then I'd go Jesus. But I doubt he'll say that clearly.

              If Morata plays, I think that makes Hazard an even better choice?

              Hazard is tempting mainly because of his low ownership and upside.

              Lukaku will be the most captained, and we don't have him anyway.

    Wondering whether or not Eriksen is worth losing for Sterling for the next 4 weeks, after which point I expect to wildcard...

    Elliot
    Davies | Jones | Daniels
    Eriksen | Salah | Silva | Ritchie
    Kane | Lukaku (C) | Joselu

    Bench: Foster | Carroll | Ward | Long

    1FT 0 itb.

    A) Eriksen -> Sterling
    B) Davies -> Otamendi
    C) Save FT

    Don't really want to use up a City slot with a defender, which makes B less favourable. I don't have any great desire to get rid of Eriksen either, but I can see Sterling outscoring him for the next 4 weeks given the fixtures and City's form, at which point I could easily get Eriksen back in on WC.

    Or is this week a case of when in doubt, save the FT?

    Thoughts appreciated 🙂

        This is true haha. I think I'm keeping the faith with Kane though. He's far more explosive than Eriksen will ever be, so I'm far less worried about losing Eriksen than Kane, despite the additional savings Kane might generate.

      I wouldn't make that move this week I don't think. I think Lukaku is a decent captaincy option in his own right against Huddersfield. Despite his lacklustre performances, he's still been a consistent goalscorer, and there's a good chance of that continuing this week. Plus there's just that slight uncertainty about Jesus' minutes, whereas Lukaku is guaranteed the 90.

      Wait until the pressers then decide imo but could well be. But if Davies is fit and first choice, he's a great asset to have, unfortunately will take another gw or more to determine this, so if you want to keep Eriksen then probably your best bet when as soon as news arrives

        Yeah. WillI wait for presser. But I like this move.. even if Davies should be fit, he still has 3 tough games in the next four.. and is currently at -70.. good possibility that he will drop within the ext few weeks.. so it will only cost me 0.1 to get him back if that is the case..

    Need to start one out of these 3:

    A) RLC (new)
    B) Carroll (LEI)
    C) Wimmer (BOU)

    Appreciate your thoughts! 🙂

      I think A & B will both get 2 points, C might not even play. Probably Carroll

      Wimmer could be dropped so i'd narrow it down between A + B with B edging it because he's at home against a dodgy defense

    Beat the KneeJerkers XI, results for GW8 and squad for GW9

    And so the captain curse strikes again. With Kane’s 2 point score versus the mighty Bournemouth, every week except GW6 (Aguero, 11 pts) the most-transferred-in player has blanked. No wonder Stilicho’s ghostship is killing it. For a change, the rest of the team decided to roll up their sleeves: Trippier (8), Richarlison (5), Silva (7), and Jesus (13) all chipped in to give the Kneejerkers XI a score of 48 and a GW rank of 1.5M.

    https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/team/4112369/event/8
    https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/leagues/standings/907919/classic

    That respectable score made a sizeable dent: of 67 competitors still in the race at the start of the gameweek, only 31 have made the cut. Unfortunately for them, they’re now up against Man City’s holy trinity. Yes, Sterling (C), Jesus (VC) and Silva all made the squad of most-transferred-in players. In fact, Otamendi, Sané, De Bruyne and Aguero would also have joined them, were it not for the 3-player limit.
    For GW8, the following squad of most-transferred-in players is now final:

    De Gea (62)
    Jones (130), Trippier (74), Valencia (73), Ward (70)
    Sterling (C, 242), David Silva (89), Richarlison (78)
    Jesus (VC, 187), Abraham (172), Morata (82)
    Bench: Elliot (22); Babayoko(49), Eriksen (47), Monreal (41)

    Final thoughts: The entire Man city attack is being transferred-in massively. This is bound to end in tears for someone… but who?

      That Knee Jerk squad looks deadly....
      Guessing the cull will be massive in GW 9

        Agreed. For once, the collective seems to have made some very decent picks.

        Apart from Ward... I mean, who transfers in a defender from the team that has allowed a gazillion shots, right before they play away to Man City?

    I’m City deficient except for Silva. These moves worthy of the Free Hit?

    Kane>Jesus, Atsu>Sterling, Rich>Choupo, Monreal>Cresswell

    Current:
    Elliot
    Cedric, Alonso, Monreal
    Eriksen, Silva, Richarlison, Atsu
    Kane, Vardy, Lukaku

    Having already taken a-12 & looking at another hit to get in DDG, would it be a better option to use the free hit chip?
    Or go ahead with the -16?

      Don't take a hit to get a keeper, he basically has to keep a clean sheet just to match what your other keeper would get with the -4

      Why did you take the -12? Getting those players back doesn't sound good either.
