The Technical Area – Assessing De Gea

Minimising investment in goalkeepers has long been a popular adage among seasoned Fantasy managers. Year after year, we find ourselves searching for budget offerings who offer the sought-after combination of clean sheet and save-point potential.

The wider meta, however, often runs contrary to this strategy – with premium goalkeepers such as Thibaut Courtois, Hugo Lloris and David de Gea consistently ranking among the most popular players in Fantasy Premier League in terms of ownership.

Marcos Rojo: "Tomorrow I'm going to play a match with the reserves. Up until now I've not had any problems but training is not the same as a match so I'll play 45 minutes tomorrow. In three weeks we have a CL game that and if all goes well tomorrow I could play in that." #MUFC

Doesn't matter if he is or he isn't. What matters is that Jones plainly can't continue to play the number of games that he is doing.

The CL are dead games now and he'll probably miss all cup games.

Bailly and Rojo had become first choice towards the end of last season before his injury. Jones has taken the spot now. But I expect Jose to rotate them. Jones won't be starting games as much as he is starting now, that's for sure!

I'm having a real dilemma with my 8 midfielders and forwards...

I'm considering going 4-5-1 or 3-5-2 because i see alot of value in midfield right now especially Man C bearing in mind the possible rotation up front with Aguero and Jesus....what do you think of this midfield and forward lineup?

If I broke a rib I don’t know if I could be performing at the top of my game again (not that he has been, but he is playing the top level of football), it just seems a bit weird that Aguero healed so fast. I know with advances in medical sciences that he could have just been fixed normally or maybe he didn’t break it as bad as first though, but in the real world a broken rib takes a bit longer to heal doesn’t it?

Plan was to do Jesus -> Lukaku and wash my hands with city striker rotation but this Aguero option makes Jesus attractive this week

On the other hand have a feeling Lukaku (who will be even more highly owned with Aguero sellers) will do some serious damage to my rank. However would be for a -4 if I were to bring him in

    Thoughts?

    Arsenal v Spurs
    Man Utd v Newcastle

Why is it that, when on WC, one always end up -0,1 off the "dream team"?

    DDG / Speroni
    Jones Christensen Dann Daniels Moreno
    Salah Sané Sterling Zaha Richarlison
    Kane Morata Niasse

Christiansen to Duffy and then you have the dream team

I'm 0.4 short of that. I wouldn't mind losing DDG for Pope.

Hm. Double United is a differential I'm not keen on losing. But that move enables Sterling to a more nailed mid like Alli/Eriksen down the line... Food for thoughts!

I’d lose Christensen for a Burnley defender...

Why? Haven't you read Conte's comments about Christensen being the present and the future at the club? Conte seems to trust him more than Rudiger too.

          I haven’t read those comments.
Just an option to help you find that 0.1...
5.4mil for Christensen an expensive rotation risk imo..

This is the problem with owning Kun / Jesus.

In the middle of EVERY gameweek there will be this ongoing discussion of will / will he not start.

I really can be doing without the stress UNLESS one of them has a long term injury (I am talking more than 1 month out at least)

Guarenteed that Aguero and Jesus both start and Sane is benched then.

Oh, what scenes those would be 😎

Put it this way no chance Aguero will rise in price his week so may as well have someone who might.

Do you think Morata or Lukaku to rise from now till Sat?

      Defo Morata.

That’s a silly way to look at transfers. If kun is out then yea get rid but he might play who cares about .1

You'd need to catch 0.3 rise to gain any TV - if you're gonna transfers morata or Lukaku in then out for Aguero it doesn't really make a difference.
