The Men In Black – Gameweek 12

Our work behind the scenes, which is set to bring referee data to the members’ section early next week, is now close to completion.

From that point, members can expect another Development Squad article, updating you with details on the full data on offer.

With that in mind, we thought we’d roll out an introductory piece will share some data and offer a basic analysis of the “men in black” ahead of Gameweek 12.

Essentially, the idea is to look for any patterns in the numbers which could potentially help shape Fantasy decision-making for the round of fixtures ahead.

I want Salah in my team, but I will also hold Sterling and Eriksen.

The only possibility is to loose Otamendi to Mee.

    Yes or No?

    Thank you!

Only issue would be double burnley defence if you add Mee. But atleast you would have 5 playing defenders you could rotate.

nah, Naughton and Mbemba should perhaps turned into someone better than Naughton and Mbemba without any cash can´t be upgraded and with Jones so injury prone i wouldnt want to play Naughton every gw... suggestion could be to downgrade Eriksen to let´s say Coutinho or someone in that bracket to give you firstly the chance to upgrade Mbemba to 4.5 like Moreno, maybe turn Naughton into Daniels or Dann or even Fuchs, and still have little left if needed. Eriksen for me as you have Kane and i think Coutinho or Mane with Salah is better value than Eriksen. Not now ofc, but something to ponder about the next gameweeks?

Interesting article this - i had a stab last year at looking for the points where teams who concede the most penalties meet the teams who win the most penalties. I'm sure if you combine those stats along with referee stats you'd have a decent chance of predicting penalty awards

Actually I had some small success. By plugging the teams winning many penalties and teams conceding many into the ticker I was able to spot when a team who were winning pens freely (e.g. Leicester won best part of FIFTEEN one year) had a run of matches against teams who were prone to conceded them

I appreciate that there's many variables involved and a small sample but i think there's something in it

Luiz is a potential 0 pointer. Carroll 2 or 3 points. Davies - who knows?

Would say there is every chance of earning those 8 points back over a few weeks (if not sooner).

If you want all three for the medium term - looks like a good investment.

Those thinking of taking a -8 and above should think again.

After an I/T it's perfectly acceptable to field 9 or 10 players, rather than messing up your structure and losing players that will more than likely play the G/W after. Just advice from bitter experience, fwiw.

Is bench even really that important going into December? So-called conventional wisdom says so but how many points can we really expect from two bench defenders and a bench midfielder like RLC? There might be a rare clean sheet or even rarer assist or goal, but in all likelihood they will come in and get 1 or 2 points. Even with the odd goal or assist, forgoing transfers elsewhere in order to prepare a bench is a questionable approach.

There is an argument for dismissing this lot who love to scaremonger with the "oooh December is near, you absolutely need a strong bench or the sky will fall down" line of thinking, which usually turns out to be wildly exaggerated.

That's why you get a playing bench on your WC 🙂 I still have a 4.5 non playing striker as 3rd bench player and I might keep it that way unless I switch to 3-4-3. 2 nailed players on bench should be enough especially if you don't have many City players.

The IB Scout Notes article is bottomed, so I thought I would post here...

Eriksen's performance during the IB and Kun's potential rotation has me rethinking my plans. I was thinking of transferring out Eriksen for Sane and/or Jesus for Morata, but now thinking of saving the FT.

Yeah, I made the call to bring in Salah last week, which meant Kaku had to go -- and, in retrospect, that was the right move for the past GW.

Now, I'd like Kaku back, but I don't have enough ITB to do Jesus > Kaku. Eriksen would have to go, too, to bring back Kaku.

I am not against the idea but could you point me to any examples of your elite level knowledge, intellect and humour? Unfortunately your post history only goes back 28 days so I am presuming they preceded this.

So, with the health lessons learnt from the tragic death of Reggie Lewis, surely the MCI medical team will not take any risks with Kun. Full CT, CAT and ultrasound scans will surely be what’s needed in the next couple of weeks to ensure his health.

Downgrade KDB or to Sane/Sterling or a striker and upgrade RLC, Delph, one of your keepers or what I assume is a 4.0m defender (Chillwell). Need to spread your budget better

Nothing wrong with that but I'd seriously suggest KDB > Sane/Sterling. They're likely to match (or beat) KDB's output and you really could use the funds to improve your team for the xmas fixtures.

I'd rather have Sane than KDB.
      Duffy rather than Dunk
      Upgrade Chilwell
Wouldn't own Pool D but understandable if you plan on only playing at home games.
Delph is not on option reverse OOP

Why are people who own lukaku considering not captaining him. If you don't trust him at home to Newcastle may as well get rid.

Fair point but depends on rivals - in some leagues just owning him is a differential now
