A third of the season is almost done, and Burnley’s defence is riding high as a source of Fantasy returns.

After a surprising debut campaign in which a recurring series of defensive heroics – particularly at Turf Moor – saw the Clarets survive in 16th place, their sophomore season has been altogether more impressive.

Sean Dyche’s side sit in seventh place – tied on points with both Liverpool and Arsenal –a nd have conceded fewer goals than all but the top three of Manchester City, Manchester United and Spurs.

Can their defence continue to perform at such a high level throughout the campaign? And who among their array of options looks best placed to prosper from this upturn in solidity?

    Can't decide if I should wildcard. Was thinking of waiting a couple of weeks to see if Trippier is playing regularly or not, Pogba's form, etc. Would only change 6 players, too. Thoughts?

          I would transfer out Trippier - that rotation is gonna be a nightmare. Daniels and Mee both good options. Mariappa could very well start not sure it's worth a hit.

        Oriol is an enabler that plays every week. Murray is the only option at that price range apart from Abraham, who I don't regard as any better. Lossl rotates well with Elliott

          You get a better enabler for 0.1 more. Abraham is more nailed than Murray with Hemed around. You also have DCL and Niasse if you want to bet on them. Hudd wont get more than 1 cs in the next 10 probably.

              I'm of firm belief that if Lukaku will do well it's got to be in the next 2 (NEW and BRI) that being said Aguero is proven, playing on the best team, that scores the most goals. If he plays he'll likely produce.

                If Aguero was a sure starter it's a no brainer to keep, but a possible benching and Lukaku haul is a thing of nightmares.

                  Can't have them all this year. Aguero, Kane, Lukaku, Morata. Even if you have all three you likely won't have Salah, Sane, etc...

                  I can't live with the Man City rotation. I've gone Sane and I'm playing to just ride it out. I also have Jesus but he is just a place holder for a Morata upgrade or a Vardy downgrade.

    Need some advice as to whether one or more hits should be taken.

    Here is my team:

    De Gea (Elliott)
    Azpi, Valencia, Jones (Mbemba, Otamendi)
    Eriksen, Sane, Sterling, Richarlison, (T Carroll)
    Kane, Vardy, Ayew

    Jones probably won't play, and Ayew is not going to do much. I've got 0.4m ITB, and was thinking of Mbemba to Mee, and Jones to Duffy.

    Throwing out a firebrand here to challenge the groupthink: Daniels bandwagon reminds me of Fuchs last year. Fuchs had brilliant fixtures but neither Leicester or Fuchs himself posted any good stats. But because of his reputation and history loads of managers, including myself, brought him in ´.

      Agreed. This is purely fixtures over form and depending on which side you think is more important Daniels seems a good pick. I personally ride fixture for defense. I think it's naive apart from maybe Alonso last year to pick a defender based on attacking returns.
