Put up your feet, pour yourself another glass of mulled wine and grab that tin of Quality Street. After all it is christmas, and after all we’ve got another match to take in as we round out gameweek nineteen just as soon as it starts.

The Dugout Discussion closes it’s door for no-one and a festive game between Arsenal and Chelsea are no exception. Just nineteen weeks down and Arsene Wenger finally gets to start his two key players – Cesc Fabregas & Robin Van Persie – together for the first time this season, while the likes of Walcott finally get a start after weeks waiting patiently on the bench.           I'm absolutely sure he will, his return to the side has coincided with their return to form. He a very decent player in the same league as Tiote and Diame but more attacking.

            Fabregas is one giant, walking, through-ball playing yellow card these days, so I just took it on the chin (lost me a couple of points too). It's mucked up my way of getting Van der Vaart in too.

    Torres, I can't get rid of him, look at this weeks fixture at least, then Bolton (H) as well. Then I have Bent, I can't get rid of him Blackpool at home, then Blackburn. So lastly I have Carroll, fixture proof Mr Consistent who everyone has...? Also with Carroll, I have to downgrade elsewhere to be able to afford him.

      Lose Bent.

      He's just not as dominant for Sunderland as he used to be with Welbeck taking a few of his chances.

      Bolton at home is not that great of a fixture, especially for a Torres who has been crap most of the year. He should easily be taken out for Tevez, the only player over 10 mil to play to his price all year.

            Hmmm, but playing the bottom club at Home, and he is quality on his day. Surely will be looking to impress for the January transfer window, and DGW's coming, I just saw below, snow across Sunderland, if that game is called off then Bent -> Tevez no doubt anyways.

              I realize I'm more down on Torres than most, so if you want to keep, go for it. I just think hes pretty much out of it for this year. Too many other good options for this year to hold on to one of the most expensive wastes around.

    Is any VDV owners worried he might not start tomorrow? Just thinking with his fitness record and a game yesterday where he played up front for long periods. Makes me concerned he wont start tomorrow and I have him down as captain at the moment!

    Who to play out of Givet, Ferguson, Lee and Elmander?

    Have Robinson in nets so doubling up with Givet doesnt appeal to me.
    Ferguson will only get BP's if they hold United to a draw or something along those lines.
    Cant see Lee or Elmander scoring much either.

    Currently have Elmander playing.

    I've kept my Chelsea boys way past their sell-by date.

    Cole and Drogba. They still sit in my team wasting funds.

    Problem is, they have nice fixtures coming up, and I'm wary of getting rid.

    The most obvious transfer at this point is Drogba > Torres, but Drogba has actually scored or assisted 3 games in a row now, which is better than anything Torres has done for a while.

    Decisions, decisions...

    Suggestions anybody?

    Cole I will definitely get rid of, but I need to know where that money is going to go before I do it. Ideally, next week I'll do:

    Cole > Bardsley/Someone cheap
    MGP > Someone better

    Although I'm liking the look of Gerrard and Fabregas, and that'll require some surgery...

      Have you thought about Bosingwa in for Cole, Camzy?

      It's difficult to tell RE Drogba-you just know the GW you take him out for someone else, Chelsea will batter someone.

      Im holding onto Drog for next 2 GW's and he might actually pick up some better form by then.

      Id be more worried if you didnt have Tevez (which I dont 😛 )

    Been at work all day so had to v+ the Arsenal game, just finished watching it! Had Fabs captain, but more importantly just really wanted Arsenal to win, absolutely cracking stuff - a great game of football.

    Thought Arsenal showed alot tonight, alot better in defence and in general seemed to have alot more about them. Brilliant gameweek!!!

        I was banging on to my mum about how important this game was to Arsenal, after about 40 minutes was thinking how much better they had been but it threatened to look like another one where they dominate possesion but it comes to nothing.

        But then they just smashed it at the end of the first half and the start of the second - got to admit i was worried when they conceded but they stayed strong. Come on the gooooooooooners!!!!

        In fairness though, it has to be said, Chelsea were woeful. How much did they pay for Ramires?!

I'd just said to my Dad after the 3rd goal that if we don't concede in the next 5 minutes, the game's over...before I finished the sentence RvP attempted a crazy flick on the halfway line, lost the ball then they got a free kick and scored- this is why we love Arsenal

        I been thinking getting torres in for Drog and captaining him. His home record is great, even when LPool have been rubbish. Tempted, but loyalty to Drogs is putting me off at the moment.
