FFS Cup

Paddy Power Cup V – The Last 16

A few weeks back, over 2200 registered and now we are down to the last 16 of the Paddy Power Cup V. They’ve come through seven stages and are two victories away from playing for a prize. The draw for the next round has been and looks a lot like this…

1RaasclartVs.Mr Bungle
2mendersVs.CSKA AWFUL
3NattVs.Declan
4Der-Hammer95Vs.Sc8tt26
5soulman27Vs.runty
6ChickenDevilVs.Timmy Loving
7VereWinnerVs.sleepingmaster
8Bruce BaerVs.Funkyav

Top-seed, and 181st in the world, Der-Hammer95 has a tough assignment against 1,241st overall Sc8tt26. Of course at this stage of the competition there’s no easy games. In fact, there are only two teams with less than 1,000 points.

As luck would have it, those two Fantasy managers yet to hit four-digits have been matched together. 250k in the world VereWinner takes on 127k in the world sleepingmaster.

Last week’s top-scorer, Mr Bungle, once again finds himself as the away team in the first fixture of the round. There’s obviously no disadvantage to coming out of the hat second, and Mr Bungle actually has the effective lead going into his game with Raasclart. The 83 points between them means the ‘visitors’ will go through with a draw.

All ties will be played over the upcoming Gameweek 19, good luck to all!

Please note – with such a short turnaround from Gameweek 19 to Gameweek 20, we’ve made the decision to postpone the Quarter-Finals until Gameweek 21. This will ensure that the draw can be made and published well in advance of any deadline – it will also remove the double gameweek fixtures as a factor and bring the January wildcard into play for the last eight.

Suarez is out - so I suspect your opponent won't have him playing. BAE is a defender, not a mid. Missing keeper in your team.

You have no goalie,I fancy him to edge on based on this.

      You:

      ----------0??
      ----6------2------6----
      --3---(OOP??? 2) -- 5 --- 7----
      8 -----6-----6-----

      Him:

      --------7------------------
      ---1----2------2------2----
      8------3-----5-----
      0------12-------9----

The transfer is not really pressing but seems like hit would be covered up this week giving me a FT to get rid of BAE after GW21..

Is this a joke? Raylor is a championship level (at best) right midfielder. He has no pace, no positional sense, and can't tackle. All he has is the ability to hit the odd good free kick in 10. Santon is the italian under 21 captain. Was first choice for Inter Milan at 18. Valued at 20 million a couple of years back. And looked VERY good in the games he has played. Problem is his dodgy knee. Raylor may well play against Liverpool, but how you can say that he is far better than Santon is beyond me. I reckon that Pardew only plays Raylor cos he always looks like he's about to start crying, so he feels sorry for him!

    rvp (c), ade, sturrige
1ft and 2.7 in the bank.

keep as is for this week or bring in bale for valencia?

    will valencia play defense again?

also fantasy cup opponent has bale and no united players so thinking that bringing bale in would remove that differential and probaly give me the advantage. his team: http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/1692069/event-history/18/

What thoughts do you have on the following.

    Krul (Vorm)
Brown / Enrique / Ward (Evans) (Taylor Swansea)
Nani / Bale / Silva / Walters (Dyer)
    Adebayor / RVP / Sturridge

I’ve got 1 FT and 1.6 in the bank. I’m stuck on what to do. Do I go Evans to Bae this GW and have a free next GW or take a 4pt hit and risk Gallas and get Drenthe in for Dyer in anticipation of DGW?

    Any other ideas?!

Especially after dropped points at home to WOL. Ideal situation for Wenger = start RVP, 2-0 up at half time (both RVP) and then sub him. I'd take that.

I expect him to be rested but he doesnt have to be. Lots of Premier League players will play 90 mins in all three games in quick succession. I dont think he is particularly fragile, has just been unlucky with injuries.

Why wouldn't he? There's no way TP will disrupt his winning formula unless he needs to rest key players, which was Walters, Etherington & Shawcross. The last 2 have got enough rest.

Exactly.. The talks on here expect pennant and Wilko return. I really have no idea. TP doesn't look like a tinker man but rotation is always possible in this period.. 😕

Chelsea wingers big-time, if you're looking for a differential.

If Smalling's out, I'd defo consider Nani (since he'd be nailed-on to start with valencia at rb).

RVP 10% chance of starting IMO.

Rooney 75% chance of playing at CM, if Smalling's out.

You really think Wenger will deprive his captain and best player of the chance to break a goalscoring record when he's fully fit? Also, Wenger will be looking for a big performance after the disappointing draw against Wolves. I'd say RVP is 95% starting.

            fully fit? by no means.

he'd rather have his best player "fully fit" for the dodgy away game against Ful.

the only way he could start is if rvp himself eggs arsene for him to start/feels he can get the record by starting.

I'd say he is fully fit. Sure, he could probably do with a rest, but that doesn't mean he's not fully fit.

Unfortunately, RVP is pivotal to the Arsenal attack - we really struggle without him. I personally think he will play both games but look to come off early against QPR if we're winning. You may be right of course, but I'd be surprised if Wenger took the gamble...

                No doubting Pursestring's importance.

My guess is he'll come on after 60 mins to have a brief chance at a tired defence & break his record.

I'm (C) Mata. Vil at home spells goals & loads of them. Also, he's officially the set-piece hogger from now onwards.

Wondering if the consensus is still the same...

    1. Vorm or Al-Habsi?
    2. Bench one of Simpson, Jagielka, McAuley
    3. Bench the player from above ahead of Larsson?
