Dugout Discussion

Saturday Dugout Discussion

As the dust settles on Papiss Cisse’s stunning contribution last night, Fantasy managers must prepare for seven more Premier League games as the Gameweek progresses in earnest. Our Dugout Discussion Chatroom is now fully fuelled and running its engines in time for day’s opener at the Stadium of Light.

Spurs make the journey to the North East, having witnessed Newcastle’s clinical disposal of Swansea in last night’s victory at the Liberty. The ball is very much in Harry Redknapp’s court as he attempts to keep Alan Pardew’s men at arms length, whilst fending off Arsene Wenger’s Gunners who take on City tomorrow. The teams line-up as follows…

Sunderland XI: Mignolet, Bardsley, Colback, Kilgallon, Turner, Larsson, McClean, Cattermole, Gardner, Sessegnon, Bendtner.

Tottenham XI: Friedel; Walker, Kaboul, Gallas, Assou-Ekotto; Parker, Sandro; Van Der Vaart, Modric, Bale; Adebayor

We’ll then roll through five three o’clock kick-offs, Chelsea vs Wigan and Bolton vs Fulham to name but a couple, before Stoke and Wolves come clattering together in today’s evening fixture and rounding out our Saturday affairs.

Join the your Fantasy Football peers for a chat via this link.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

It'll only get worse when Komps keep a clean sheet. I still reckon you'll get to around 50ish with Rooney scoring a few.

Might be a bit low but apart from Dempsey (who still has around 20% ownership), only decent scores have really come from defenders.

Is that "10 GW 34" as in: "Oh no, I've only got 10 players playing in GW34" or "Oh no, I've got 10 players, playing in GW 34, meaning that I'll have trouble getting as many DGW players that I want without taking too many hits"?

If you have attacking cover from United from before, it could be worth a gamble, but losing Rooney is scary. And since I'm in the same position as you, going with Ade instead of Cisse, I've been thinking about the same as well. I think I'll stick with the players I have though, and hopefully Cisse will calm down for the rest of the season...

Even in the US they don't have the proper coverage. Watching it on the Golf Channel, but it's a bit like Sky "Live Coverage" on Saturdays - can't show it properly live, just report on it. Funny tournament, run by a bunch of racist conservative old f**kers.

I did it last night to save some ££, no use in regretting it now, and I still think Walcott will score higher against Wolves than Dempsey will against Chelsea. Dempsey is quality though, and I'm glad I kept him for as long as I did. It's been a great time!

          Why 3-0 win?

You know Wigan are the smallest club in the Premier League.

We've stayed up for 7 years, we've got a fraction of the money so many of the other clubs have but we still fight up there with the best.

We took Chelsea to the edge today and they won it on an offside goal - remember this is Chelsea who purchased Torres for 50 million and multiple other players.

Oh and Liverpool who we beat too, yeah they're in bad form but look at their players, Wigan are never going to be top table and even middle table is still a distant dream but to still be up is incredible.

TL;DR - you're clearly blinded by your own idiocy.

I'm not an idiot at all. I just hate Wigan. Calling me an idiot for an opinion just shows your idiocy, this isn't Pol Pot's Cambodia regime, I can say what I like.

You should have gone down years ago (sent Sheff United down with an unfair pen), and now a team with a lot of fans is languishing in league 1 whilst ur shite is in the top tier.

3-0 wins generally mean you outplay the opposition, something you aren't capable of.

I also hate the way you make a mockey of cup competitions every year when you put your reserves out. Absolute disgrace.

Hang on a second, a team languishing in league 1? Sorry but that isn't Wigan's fault. If they really deserved to be in the prem they would have climbed back up. They haven't done that.

What's wrong with focusing on only the premiership? They use the cups as a chance to give younger players a chance to get some experience. If they're in the squad they should be allowed to play them whenever they want, it's not disgraceful that Martinez knows his team can only really focus on one thing. No shame in that, smart use of his resources.

As for this 3-0 win thing, I've seen plenty of games where the opposition has been outplayed and it only ended 1-0, sometimes the team that were outplaying them even lose the match. It means nothing.

I call your idiocy on the point of saying we get fluke points, that's all. I wouldn't normally but it's aggravating to hear someone say something like that when we've just lost when we should have gained a deserved draw.

Teams that stay up deserve to. If we go down then fair enough, we didn't do well enough but every season we've fought and survived - that's pretty simple to understand.

Winning is key though, we did that against Stoke and Liverpool fairly and didn't get 'fluky' points. We've not done great this season obviously, but there are teams around us who you're not focusing upon.

Disagree with this completely. Wigan play good football and Martinez is a good manager with what he has available. Would much rather see Wolves, Bolton, Blackburn or QPR go down. I'd actually even add Villa under McLeish to that list. Take your pick from those 5. Speaking of fluking points, Wolves have managed to stay up the past few seasons purely based on doing that. They're the ones who have deserved to go down every season.

I actually watch a lot of their matches and they try to play the best they can. Much better than many teams in their position in the table. So no, it isn't a bbc opinion thanks very much. They try their best to produce a performance against teams that have better players and have been unlucky a few times this season (case in point the match today. Deserved to win it.)

GW started well with Cisse but downhill from there:

25 points on the bench (Dempsey, Turner, Simpson)
3 points from Ryo, Caulker, Wheater – AAARRGGGHHHH

Evans, Valencia, Walcott, Rooney & RVP left to play. Quite hoping, (miracles do happen!) that Rooney & Evans don’t play – most other teams have them so would help me gain a few places.

My only comfort is I checked my sub choice on here Thursday and 3 people were in agreement. So at least 3 other fails out there.

I would be livid if i had Demps on the bench... I burned him few wks back to raise cash for Roonpig... the Roo owes... Praying for sum payback for the investment.

      Turner i think Retro.

I'll be getting him for Senderos soon. Nailed on, nearly scored today and great fixtures.

I'm thinking perhaps Kilgallon next week. Frees up a lot of cash, and if my planning is correct I might just need 4 defenders from GW35 and onwards.

Will Mrs China Mag be able to hold off for another day before doing the suarez - dave transfer? Dave's transfers in appear to be quite rapid. Currently at 55%. I'm off the bed now, and worried I might sleep past the price changes (10:30am china time). I can't afford any price changes.

Mk done conceeding in injury time cost me a 25/1 6timer..absolutely gutted..plus I have mignolet, Simpson and walker on my bench..terrible day thus far..

33 with rvp, evans, Valencia and Rooney captain could have been so much better..

Hope mickelson and watney can cheer me up in the masters golf later..

Needed a striker for GW31 and 32 after getting fed up of Ba. Considered Cisse (4 goals), Ade (2), Jelavic (2) and Crouch. Come on Pete!

With alot of people out on the ale tomorrow and recovering monday morning some teams will need sorting tonight.

Who looks the best captaincy option from these:

    Dempsey
    Valencia
Rooney (may play deep again away from home)
    Siggy
    Walcott

And yes I have left out RVP on purpose.
