The second round of matches in Euro 2012 gets underway this afternoon as Czech Republic square up to Greece. With just a single point between them in their opening Group A matches, neither can afford to take it easy.
Our Dugout Discussion chatroom is up and running and, with many Fantasy managers wielding their wildcards before this afternoon’s kick-off, there will be plenty of renewed expectation.
The lineups for this afternoon’s game are now out and they are as follows:
Greece XI: Chalkias- Torisidis, K. Papadopoulos, Katsouranis, Holebas- Maniatis, Karagounis, Fotakis- Fortounis, Salpingidis, Samaras
Czech Republic XI: Cech – Gebre Selassi , Sivok, Kadlec, Limbersky – Hubschman, Jiracek – Plasil, Rosicky, Pilar – Baros
Giorgos Samaras in the only player in Fernando Santos’ front three to keep his starting place from the Poland game. In come Konstantinos Fortounis and Dimitris Salpingidis up front, with Theofanis Gekas and Sotiris Ninis both dropping out. Kyriakos Papadopoulos is joined by Konstantinos Katsouranis in central defence – the latter moves from central midfield, affording Giorgos Fotakis a place in the midfield three.
The Czechs make two changes to the starting XI that lost 4-1 to Russia. David Limbersky comes in at left-back, allowing Michal Kadlec to move to centre-half, with Roman Hubnik dropping out. Tomas Hubschman is handed a start in the double pivot – Jaroslav Plasil moves into a more attacking role as Jan Rezek makes way.
