The Stock Check

The Stock Check – Gameweek 10 – Saturday Part Two

City’s unbeaten run stretches to 10 games but their toils in front of goal continue, with a goalless draw at Upton Park. Sergio Aguero is handed a sub role yet again, while Andy Carroll draws yet another blank for the hosts:

On the Up

City Defence
This evening’s goalless draw maintained the champions’ recent upturn in defensive resilience. It’s three clean sheets and just one goal conceded in the last four Gameweeks now for Roberto Mancini’s men – the likes of Chelsea and United have one clean sheet apiece in the last six, by comparison.

West Ham Defence
A first clean sheet in six was just rewards for the home side’s resilient efforts. Sam Allardyce will be buoyed by his team’s ability to nullify City’s threat but with Guy Demel still sidelined and James Tomkins missing out through injury, the Hammers boss will be hoping James Collins can shake off a knock which forced him off towards the end, given their upcoming schedule.

Going Down

Sergio Aguero
With a vital Champions League game against Ajax in midweek, Aguero was benched yet again for this evening’s trip to Upton Park. Roberto Mancini started with three of his four forwards and while the Argentine was afforded some game time late on, he has now been omitted from the City first XI in three of the past four Gameweeks – despite his obvious capabilities, Aguero has simply become far too frustrating a Fantasy option right now, with his manager’s up front rotation dramatically curtailing his appeal.

Andy Carroll
His loan move to West Ham, which saw the towering centre-forward reunited with Sam Allardyce, was hailed as the perfect fit. The Hammers’ tactics seemed tailor-made for Carroll, with delivery from wide guaranteed to create chances aplenty in the air but it hasn’t quite transpired as Allardyce would have hoped. Another blank today means Carroll has just one assist in six appearances since making his way to Upton Park.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

what a gamewk...likely nothing went right for me... 28 morrison to play!!!

just disgusted that a 30-40 scores will sit beside 108,57,71,45,41,50,61,62,60... 🙁

btw is a round about 35 score for this gamewk average or below par???

    Hi guys

    Side is at current

    Begovic

    Ivan Baines Raphael

    Bale Valencia Michu Pieenar

    Ba Defoe RVP

Thinking of doing Pieener & Defoe to Fellani and Berbs? Would give me .5m too.

    Thoughts please?

Need to know about how nailed on McCartney is. Looks a steal at 3.9 even with his fixtures since he rotates well with Stoke.

Also if liverpool win today theyll only be 4 points off 4th.:o Whod of thought it.
    In January:
    Mancini gone
    AVB on the ropes
    United with a healthy lead
Chelsea spend nearly 100 mill to bring in a few players including a top striker then go on to win the league by march.

Thanks mate that late cazorla strike made things ok for me in a bad week and of course RVP. Funny how things go, was taking out Nolan for bale until mata was out then brought in taarabt for Guthrie just to have 11 playing. 22 with 5 to play and 3 from Nolan on bench will prob be an ok score this week.

i'm considering using my WC. right now my team is

    fed/jaask

    hutton, gorkss, zabaleta, cole, cuellar

    gerrard, bale, noble, sterling, guthrie

    aguero, rvp and ba

    this is what i'm thinking

    tremmel/mannone

    mccartney, cuellar, cameron, sagna, gorkss

    bale, cazorla, mata, michu, fellaini

    pog, ba and rvp

    i would play formation 3-5-2

do you like it ? midfield looks deadly and rvp ba upfront to do the damage

Not a fan of 352. Striker spots are more valuable than mids imo.

Damn yellow cards... I want to do Gerrard/Cazorla and Kaca to Michu and Fellaini....

    Too risky? 😕

      Hmmm....

I think worth the risk if Gerrard is one making way. You still get ft following week if one does get yellow.

      Hopefully 2 won't, or just Felliani 😉
