The Big Numbers – Gameweek 10

Another unplayable performance from Marouane Fellaini, ably supported by a string of outstanding Everton displays, lights up this weekend’s Big Numbers analysis, while the likes of Pablo Hernandez, Christian Benteke, Nicky Shorey, Robin Van Persie and Luis Suarez crash the party. Here’s our choice of the key statistics on show in the Gameweek so far…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

My best transfer has probably been shipping him out after GW3. He was never going to maintain his scoring and now he looks knackered.

Asked 100 times by 100 people... but the only way I can afford fellaini without a small rebuild is Demel to McCartney and Pienaar to Fellaini and a -4.

Really annoying, as after price changes the chance is gone... but a -4 for a very very lateral move?! Painfully frustrating.

After watching the treatment Sunderland gave Stoke, there's no way Fellaini isn't going to have to throw his weight around and get himself booked. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVDczC6_TtY

Yeah, I guess the 4 yellows is really the ice breaker. Even if he plays 2 of the next 3, Pienaar in 3 and a saved -4 is probably a safer choice.

Quite often when one of them has a good week, it seems the other does better the week after.

Ben Arfa to Ramirez and Lambert to Berbs/Crouch? Southampton have a great run of fixture so I would maybe just worry about sorting out your worst 3 defenders but if you really want to get rid of Lambert I would advise trying to get Ramirez or Lallana.

if chris mcgurn says the world is flat it doesn't make it flat.
trigger highlighted one of the flaws of this site, people try to sell their opinions to the site by exaggerating them so much that they lose all meaning. if you need to exaggerate a point this much maybe the point itself isn't a very good one.
fellaini and michu are both statistically more likely to score this week than get yellow cards. so should we buy fellaini if we have michu? both might get booked, they might not. saying both are highly likely to get booked this weekend is just stupid hyperbole.
p.s i purposely used the laid line to see what kind of a poster trigger is, and yes it worked, almost word for word

Fellani up against a very Physical side , everton fairly physical themselves . Re will need plenty of cards to control it.
Michu - Manager himself has said that the southampton game was more imortant than the Chelsea game , they really want to win that one . Michu would of been told to do nothing silly to get there. The game itself going be no holds barred , another where a booking highly likely.

I'm finding it hard to justify getting him in with RVP, Tevez and Berbs. Ba and Suarez really appeal to me but it's dangerous losing any of the three. Suarez's fixtures aren't particularly frightening me either and I fancy him to get booked against Chelsea thus missing the tasty Wigan game. Wish I had him already instead of Tevez really.

Rooney is at the heart of all good ManU play but more often than not rvp is at the end of it.

IMO rvp will def outscore rooney over the season. Whether he is worth the extra $ is another issue altogether and depends on each person's squad..

sounds reasonable. though hasn't rooney more or less kept up points wise since he returned from injury? which of the two do you think is more prone to rotation? who do you think has pens now though?

and is rvp over rooney worth the difference between lambert and berb? cuz i currently have berb and lambert so can either ship berb for rvp or ship lambert for roon

I agree with Kerfuffle and you also need to remember that you get double points when you captain him...so if he gets 6 more goals that's maybe worth 40 points if you captain him 2/3 games and you can add some bonus on top of that

If lambert is a nailed on starter (which he doesn't seem to be) then RVP + lamb would be my pick. Neither of those choices is ideal... don't suppose you can do RVP + berb somehow?

rotation and pens wise, only SAF knows.. who knows what goes on in his mind. though I'm surprised roon took the last one given the rate at which he's been missing them...

Watching all of the games involving Man U, I think a case can be made to have them both.

I think Roon will keep pens as he is the Capt Utd.

It's like what is pleasing on the eye_I love Roon playing in his new posi.

Didn't realize he was such a great footy player till It smacked me in the face.

RVP will have games where he's marked out leaving Roons to clean up.

And If RVP did have a gg I bet it was Roon that assisted most of the time.

ahh i gotcha. yeah he has looked even more brilliant

true but there will also be games where roon will be linking up play and rvp will be there to finish all the moves off!

i think that valencia and rafa will assist a good number of rvp goals!

RVP is currently twice as good as Rooney + 2

He is essential, and might even start taking penos now that Stoney has fluffed his last few!

Worth the extra money, most def!

But RVP you keep, and captain most weeks... your other strikers like Berba, Ba, Jelly, Lambert, Fletcher, Crouch you can rotate and trade thru as they hit form and fixtures! Of corse this is all my humble opinion but the thought of plumping the rest of your squad at the expense of RVP who is THE most consistent scorer at the moment is going to cause heartache!

Is it worth selling Hazard for Fellaini? I also have Mata and Baines. Only worry is that I would probly only want him for his next 3 fixtures and will probably be suspended for one of those.

I know what you mean but I tend to look at that tool they have on totalfpl and see the goalscoring percentage chance for the week and pick a player from the highest percentage team (where possible) hence next week I'm on Cazorla not RVP. Was wondering what score people reckon will be needed to get into the cup?

I tend to agree TW... the only downside to Valencia, and in fact most United wingers, is that they'll be assisting more and scoring less with both Rooney and RVP to aim at! I do think Tony V will get on a roll soon, he's been looking very dangerous on the outside last few GWs

yes but that is one quality pair to be aiming at. plus welbeck and hernadez at times. should get a good number of assists! and still fancy him to score a great goal from time to time like he did during that one stretch last season. a couple of those goals were just beautiful!

Huge relief to be rid of HBA - he was really annoying me for some reason, and now I have 1.1m in the bank which gives me some leeway finally.
