Possibly the most un-Christmas-like Christmas Podcast we’ve ever recorded, thanks mainly to Granville being banned from editing in the entire MP3 of Dean Martin’s “Let it Snow” but also because neither of us had time to sort our pressies. To be fair, I’m surprised that Granville felt an ounce Christmas spirit after Santi’s showing at Reading opened up a 40-point “chasm” in our min-league. Do I have it all wrapped up already?

To his credit, my co-host takes it all on his bearded chin, joining me to discuss the Felliani fallout, its impact on the transfer trends in “all aboard”, a preview of the weekend fixtures and provided his assistance in the management of the ScoutCast team: an outfit which plundered no less than 80 points thanks to Santi’s haul and Reading’s bulging net.

    If you make a podcast surely your opinions are under scrutiny.
    Granville you need to adjust your statement that Reading are demoralized, as you have not made that clear. It is bugging me that you are getting away with audio laziness at the least!

    Don't want to take hits to sort that defence out, but given three of them might play...

    Sterling and Caulker > Silva (or Mata) and Nastasic (-8)
    Defoe > Aguero (-4)

        Hell to the yeah. I've been touting him as a full back who's coming into his own attacking wise before his injury. Really annoyed I missed out on his 2 assists v Reading. Plus Sagna can get rotated with Jenks sometimes to give the latter player more league exp.

    The above is arsenals best front line, Walcott was pretty disappointing against a poor reading team up front. He's best starting from the wing and bursting forward.

    Wenger is fooling himself and Walcott if he thinks Walcott is best placed where he was on Monday.

      It depends on opposition obviously but yeah usually I'd go with that and I think Wenger will too. I thought Theo opened up Reading brilliantly tbh. It's his pace that's the danger,composure will come with time if he plays up top.

      Really? Giroud has been poor in almost every game and there is no coincidence that Walcott upfront pushed both Cazorla and Wilshere forward more. As an Arsenal fan Id much prefer Walcott.

            Thing is Ryan, Punch and Taarabt would be rotating 4th mids. It's just an example of two players with good underlying stats and good value that would thrive in home games. Anyway, just an idea.

        Morrison to Punch is not a bad move given Punch's form and Morrison's and WBA's lack of form it could pay off, but for a hit it's risky as you will need Punch to score to make it back.

        That being said Punch remains the best value mid there is now Sterling is pushing towards the 6 million mark.

          It could be Sess to Puncheon equally, then get rid Morrison later....

          Not sure I can be bothered to think about it too hard really just now. Mainly it would be a -4 to cover me for Puncheon rising tonight, as I am pretty sure I am going to put him in anyway, and probably for a hit, in next 2 or 3 GWs....
