The Fantasy Flutter with Paddy Power – Gameweek 37

We’re back in form. After a barren run of four weeks without a win, two of our “flutter” markets came in last time out, with both Theo Walcott and Gareth Bale helping us to get one over on Paddy and leave us in buoyant mood going into this weekend’s selection of Scout Pick inspired bets.

With our winnings secured tightly in our mitts, we’re straight in with our bet of the week. Marouane Fellaini is surely due a goal after missing countless opportunities in recent matches. He could be playing his last game at Goodison and we’ve shown confidence in the Belgian by backing him in the Scout Picks. With Paddy offering 5/1 on a Fellaini goal with an Everton clean sheet against West Ham, it seems a no-brainer to put our money where our mouth is and go a stage further. We’ll put a cocky £4 on this one.

We’re equally confident about Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge this week. Frustrated by Everton in the Merseyside stalemate, we just can’t see Martin Jol’s back four coping with Sturridge and, with the Cottagers in such miserable form, Paddy’s offer of 11/2 on a Sturridge goal with a Liverpool clean sheet against Fulham look favourable enough to warrant another £2 of our stake.

Adam Johnson was pushed up behind Danny Graham in a central role by Paolo Di Canio in Monday’s draw with the Potters. He’ll surely be deployed in a similar position for the Black Cats’ crunch encounter with Southampton and we’re backing him to make the difference with a spot on our Scout Picks bench. Paddy aren’t so sure and have a Johnson goal with a Sunderland clean sheet against the Saints at a tempting 13/1. We’ll gladly take that for another £2.

That leaves another couple of quid for this week’s treble. Having narrowly missed out in last week’s bet – we just needed a Sergio Aguero goal at Swansea to give us a third win – again, we’re feeling in confident mood. Paddy have slapped 5/1 on a Gareth Bale goal at Stoke, a Robin Van Persie strike in the emotional home clash with Swansea and a clean sheet for Everton against the Hammers.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

    So Bale is amazing away but it's Stokes last home game and a pretty big anniversary for the club so they'll be up for it. Also, Bale has been a bit out of firm lately.

    Walcott hasn't been playing great but has been scoring well. At home against Wigan is great but Wigan will have everything to play for but then again they'll be wrecked. But then all the Arsenal matches of late have been low scoring so there isn't that much of an upside. But then again if Newcastle win against QPR, Wigan will be more or less gone and could be on a huge low after a cup loss and take a huge hiding.

    Then RVP will obviously play and really put in a shift for Fergie's last home game. But then, the players mightn't be settled with all that's going on so who knows. And they've nothing to play for. RVP will surely spend the 90 eyeing his trophy and medal rather than trying to score. Swansea will obviously roll over though given it's Fergie's last match or will they make an occasion of it.

    Ah so the captain choice is obvious then.

      Think Arsenal have more chance of goals as Wigan will be shattered and playing on only 2 full days rest.

      Its likely their fate won't be decided this weekend as I doubt that both Norwich and Newcastle will win their games so the likelihood is that Wigan will have to play the same team that will play in the Cup Final.

      RVP is a good choice too, as is Lamps.

      Bale away at Stoke, I'd leave that one alone as far as captaincy goes.

    My main worry is I dont have Rvp. I have a 11 point lead

    Do

    B. Kun, Tevez. Michu -> Rvp. Sturridge. Coutinho -8
    C. Michu -> Coutinho
    D. Tevez, Michu -> Coutinho, Sturridge -4

          I know, just resting a player to prevent injury - a player who cost you shit loads. The guy's hardly played and people wonder why City have been nowhere near what they should be. Citeh should be able to win tomorrow even if he got injured. Pap FF manager. Hate Mancini - and delighted Fergie has gone.

            They are playing Wigan in the cup and Mancini thinks Aguero should only play 70 mins of the previous two games to be ready for it....WTF is that all about...If that is what Aguero needs to be "rested" enough for Wigan then he shouldn't even be a professional footballer in the prem.....either that or Mancini needs to take a job as a childminder instead.

    A) silva and Defoe out - lampard and RVP In
    B) michu and Defoe out - lampard and sturridge in
    C) as b) but,taking a hit for Phil jones

    Winning my cash league by 6 both rivals have got RVP

      Imo Mata 20%, Tevez 40%.
      No idea on Luiz, Clichy.

      Mata played Spurs, United and has Europa cup final all in a week and a half. I think he will have a breather in the Villa game.

          I'm selling... I think he has a better chance of playing than Mata, but Benitez took a risk with him at Spurs and he picked up another knock. Also think he'll play in the final.

          There's cover for this game in Rami, Mikel, Oscar, Marin, Benayoun etc. Sure they can manage okay at Villa.

    So I figure we'll all be speculating on the Chelsea line-up till the deadline.

    5 minutes after the deadline the team news will come out. Most will be swearing, and then you'll get those few people who'll say "I told you mata would be rested, I even bookmarked it"

    For me, I'm set on RVP. Arsenal are so inconsistent, but I don't think Wigan will be able to just sit back and hope for a point. I'm thinking it will be open. I don't think Walcott is a bad captain choice, but I'm gonna have to go with RVP because they could put on a show for Fergie's last home match.
