Moving Target

Moving Target – Danny Graham

Hull City boss Steve Bruce added to his forward options late last week by acquiring Danny Graham on a season-long loan deal from Sunderland. The former Swansea man is the club’s seventh signing of the summer and follows the likes of Allan McGregor, Curtis Davies, Maynor Figueroa and Ahmed Elmohamady to the KC Stadium as The Tigers prepare for life back in the Premier League.

Having fallen out of favour under Paolo Di Canio after just six months at Sunderland, Graham’s security of game time looks set for a significant increase in the season ahead. Judging by his new manager’s comments, it’s clear that Bruce – who has an option to make the deal permanent at the end of 2013/14 – is a huge fan of the 27-year-old:

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I quite like Cornelius for a punt. Check his goals out on YouTube. Seems to have an amazing left foot. Headers are pretty powerful too. And strangely for his height, he seems pretty quick. Should be nailed on after big money transfer.

So I've been trying to analyse the new bonus point system but without see who received the 3, 2 and 1 bonus points, not much analysis can be made without making some broad (potentially wrong) assumptions. FPL have given us the new bonus point system but if there's a way to get the actual bonus points that would of been received would be much more valuable.
The list given shows that around 50% of the top new point system consists of defenders, but this information is very limiting, for example player such as Defender may receive a consistent an above average amount of the new bonus points but yet never receive any of the 3,2,1 bonus pts, While a player with a lower average receive more bonus points with a fluctuating bonus point form.
Is there any chance FPL will give out the 3,2,1 bonus points under the new system?

I've done my own. I just use the season ticker and isolate one week at a time and sort by difficulty and number these 1 to 20. If you total these and then sort the total column by lowest to highest if gives you number rankings. It doesnt take as long as it sounds.

I do 6 weeks ahead at a time, so I've only done the first 6 weeks of the season.

"Coverage" is arse gravy of the highest order. Pick the players you think will score well, don't fret about which teams they're from. The only time "coverage" is relevant is when talking about defenders - and nobody talks about it that way.

Aguero was at his best with another striker ahead of him.
          2011-12, tevez/balotelli/dzeko started 37 between them.
I think Negredo will have that role now with any 3 behind him.

unsure between adebayor and bony and van wolfswinkel.. adebayor has proven himself in epl, and i think he will be back to his best this season if he nails on the starting role over defoe. with bony and van wolfswinkel, i dont know if they can replocate their performances in the premier league..

I like that you have some unfashionable picks (at least on here) that could do well.

You reckon Spurs will be solid at the back this year`?

Are you expecting anything more than save points from your keepers?

Do you think Ade will return to form?

imo spurs defence will be solid. i was tossing between azpilicueta and walker, but azpilicueta seemed to be under more of a rotation risk. ur point on my keepers does raise doubts though... best keeper at 5m in ur opinion? or should i dig out another .5milfrom somewhere else in my team to get mignolet

Mig is the way I'm going.

Boruc and Ruddy is good, but I think Mig is worth the extra 0.5

Why is everyone so convinced that Arsenal are going to be good defensively? Vermaelen and Koscielny are injured, aren't they?

They were defensively very solid last year, they're likely to strengthen this year and they have nice fixtures.

True. They still need to sign a CB imo.

have to say I really like the look of a SOT/SUN/NOR 3 way rotation.

with 2 of the 3 to play?

Thing is, I wouldn't go anywhere near Sunderland's defence, regardless of how well they rotate, at least until we see some form.

Who at Sunderland can be trusted though.
They've signed so many players. QPR last year springs to mind.

In my opinion the best time to judge form and team line ups is in August, as most teams in this period start to play more challenging opponants. It is very easy to identify form players now when they play a team which no one has ever really heard of and this then leads us to choose players who did well against poor teams but havent shown much potential against more challenging teams.

I think Bale and Wally will be in there regardless, as well as a fit, stating Sturridge
