The Sun Dream Team – Scout League Launched with £1000 Prize

The Sun Dream Team is now open for registration and Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce an official league, with The Sun offering a huge £1,000 prize to our winner.

Having had a few weeks to tinker with your starting XI, the serious business starts here. You can register your saved team, put together further lineups and create and enter leagues for the new season.

Select a free team and you can compete for £80,000 in prize money, but if you back yourself by opting for a Premium Package (two teams for £10 or six teams for £25), you’ll have more chances to win and be in the mix to win the full £500,000, whilst also earning the right to compete for the monthly game prizes, which make up £80,000 of the overall prize pot.

Joining and Creating Leagues

You can join or create up to ten leagues with any of your teams and set up your own leagues as you wish. The Sun Dream Team game offers real incentive to get involved – there’s a new Chairman’s prize pool of £10,000 available for those who manage to recruit ten or more managers to their league.

If you’re looking to join an ready-made league, you can challenge the likes of Ian Wright and Terry Venables with Dream Team allowing you to take on an array of celebrity managers.

The Scout League

You should also enroll in the official Fantasy Football Scout League, with Dream Team very kindly offering a £1,000 prize pot to the winner.

Once you register and create your team or teams, simply use the following PIN and password to enter.

League Name: Fantasy Football Scout
Password: ReWOZhn1T1
PIN: 8061654

You’ll find these details on the middle column of the homepage from this point on.

    Hey guys!

    Zabaleta or Johnson?

And if you had to pick 2 of Sturridge/Dzeko/Lukaku/Benteke/Bony, who'd it be? (Only combination not available is Sturridge+Benteke).

I've already got Hazard, Coutinho and Paulinho on the team, if that would make an impact on your decision.

***** Don't think about gameweeks, only think about how many points they're going to make in TOTAL, this fall.

    What is the better option:
    a) A £4.5m keeper who starts and a £7.5m striker
    b) A bench £4.0m keeper & an £8.0m striker

Help much appreciated and names would be good too

Depends on your number of Chelsea players (amongst other things). You would like to have Lukaku if you have room for him. Otherwise Dzeko or Berbatov will be sufficient.

      Goalkeepes are standard, 8/9
Defence is a bit light, I'd swap turner for a Southampton defender, as whu/sot rotate like nibody''s business. Unless youre planning on playing them both every week, in which case I'll shut up. 6/7
Midfield is solid with two rotators, but good ones 7
Forwards are superb, best 3 IMO 10

    REPOST: SOLDADO OR NOT?

    some thoughts:

1.spurs have not been bright in the pre season
    2. spurs will be weakened when/if bale leaves
    3. soldado has not trained yet so he lacks fitness and match fitness and will probably take him some time to get both
    4. soldado's attacking providers, chadli and lennon, the former is completely unknown and unproven while the latter is below par and injury prone

dont all of the above make sense NOT to get soldado until we see spurs later on in the season how they perform?

    comments please?

    thanks

I replied to your post on the last page, but I'll try a different tactic.

      1. True, but I rarely feel pre-season is a good indicator of the season ahead. Did you see their center back pairing against a (very strong) Monaco attack?

      2. Undoubtedly, but I would imagine this would be in some way mitigated by the money they would receive. I am not a Spurs fan but I heard from a poster on here that they are in for the likes of Lamela and Ljajic - two very good players.

      3. This is an issue, but as far as I am aware, he had continued to attend training at Valencia.

      4. Spurs have more 'providers' than these two players. In either a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1, they have a significant amount of technically gifted players who are more than capable of threading a pass or through ball. This extends even to their Center Backs if you consider Vertonghen may play there.

I won't be bringing him in though. I think his style of play will require him to gel with his team mates so he can read and anticipate the passes. Likewise, the space afforded to players in the Premier League is rather different to what he will be used to in La Ligua, so that may also take a while. However, if he has a confidence boosting performance in what appears to be an easy opener, then that may provide a decent springboard for future returns.

I have requested clarification regarding the Sky Fantasy captain rule and got quite a lengthy response. Here is link to a google doc for anyone that is interested in what they put http://goo.gl/9rSFft Im ignoring most of it and just focusing on this bit which seems to clarify it quite succinctly:-

For example, if you had your existing captain already playing on a Saturday, he would score double points on that day! . You could then transfer him out for a game on Sunday, before the earliest Premier League game played on the Sunday, and the incoming player taking over as captain would score double points. You could then use your weekly captaincy change to change the captain for a game on Monday and score double points again for 3 separate players.

think this was mentioned earlier but we weren't sure

      so basically

you (c) a player on a Sat, you can then transfer him out to a (c) option on the sunday, then switch it on the Monday.

so GW2 I could (c) Sturridge, then transfer him out to Aguero and then switch to RvP and all 3 would get double points?

if you pick the right players i think it doesnt matter, but on the basis that it's normally easier to get goals and assists as a striker i'd say 3-4-3

I see. So Ivan > Terry. You sure Terry will play both games though?
And who for Dzeko? He seems to be a popular pick around here.

Terry is the captain and has worked under Mou in the past, both have a good connection I suppose. I am not 100% sure he will play 180mins, the same for Ivan. But the extra 0.5 is worth spending elsewhere!
Dzeko is very popular indeed since Pellegrini stated he will be City's main striker. However, he will be for sure rotated with so many options at City, so I prefer to play it safe at the start of the season and go for somebody who is guaranteed 90 mins.
You could go for Aspas or Bony with that extra 0.5

I can't understand why Lukaku is in everyone's team.
How much time do you expect him to play in DGW?
And what's your plan with Ivan/Hazard/Lukaku in GW3?

Lukaku has been playing the most minutes in pre season games, much more than Torres and Ba. He could create real damages in 120mins or so.
Then transfer out Lukaku for free in GW2 is fine for me!

RVP all the way. With Bale gone, he HAS TO be the primary guy in your team, without a doubt

Bale, Rooney & Suarez all miss out on respective friendlies with injuries.

    Hmmm, very convenient isn't it!?

Would it be mental to go into GW1 with Hazard, Lampard and Mata? Then take out the latter 2 for a hit in GW2 for Walcott and Coutinho? RMT has this as accruing 38.97pts after hits.

    For anyone interested:
Doing Mata > Walcott for GW2 and then Lamps > Coutinho for GW3 gives you 41.31pts.

I don't understand how this gives you 38.97pts? Could you please explain? Genuinely asking btw, not mocking you or anything.

I looked at the figures for RMT and came out with the following breakdown:

        For GW 1:
        Hazard 11.19 + Mata 10.36 + Lamps 8.97 = 30.52

        For GW 2:
        Hazard 3.35 + Walcott 4.69 + Coutinho 4.41 = 12.45

        -4pts for transfer hit

        Therefore, 30.52 + 12.45 - 4 = 38.97pts

Im pretty sure im WCn after GW3, here are the reasons why -

We'll get a feel for most teams back 4
    RVP has good fixtures
Int break so you get on some price rises
The transfer window will be shut
Turn in fixtures for United, Fulham, Spurs

So with that in mind here is my team for GW1 - GW3, all thoughts welcome

    Ruddy McGregor
    Cole Shaw Yoshida Rat Collins
    Hazard Silva Coutinho Walcott Lucas
    RVW Lukaku Dzeko

    Bank: 1.5m

Now the top three are puntish. RVW & Dzeko have good fixtures doubt ill have them after the WC and I have 1.5m in the bank to move Lukaku on to Soldado or another striker. Lucas is a 4.5m filler who will play, only in my team as a back up if RVW or Dzeko dont play.

Anyone else taking a similar approach? any thoughts on the 15?

If you're wildcarding in GW3 I don't see why you would keep 1.5m in the bank.. upgrade Lucas to Morrison?

Also, from sources on here I get the impression RVW isn't as great a pick as people seem to be assuming he will be. Any alternatives?

1.5 to upgrade Lukaku to Soldado in GW2

Ill punt on RVW for the 3 easy games.

Ah I'm with you... fair enough. I'm still not convinced on Lukaku to be honest. Obviously quite a big punt given the other forwards, but could really pay off for you!

    Mertesacker - Toure - Collins

    Hazard - Walcott - Coutinho - Sissoko

Van Persie - Lambert - Kone

    Thoughts?

According to this article, Gareth Bale has received a death threat over his potential move to Real. Police have yet to find the culprit but, if you scroll down to the second picture, it might just contain a clue...
