The ScoutCast – Episode 109 – Two Men

No thrills. Few spills. Just two men in a room talking about Fantasy Football.

Granville and I handed Jonty and the “Professor” an extended pre-season and rolled the ScoutCast back to its rawest form. Just myself and the Mancunian sharing our thoughts after a summer break and looking forward to another Fantasy campaign.

We talk double Gameweek assets, I roll out the van Persie duvet, Granville reveals more than he should about his team lineup and, around all that, we assess the early bandwagons and preview the weekend fixtures.

Forty-five minutes of two blokes talking about the stuff that’s rattling around in most of our heads right now.

It’s good to be back.

Eavesdrop on the conversation via this link or earwig via the handy player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

      Front too weak.

Would rather sell Baines than have Anelka in there.

Absolutely not. Especially since Rodgers said he will play Couthino down the midddle, meaning Gerrad is more likely to be playing deep in the midfield again this season. Couple that with Coutinho's superlative pre season form and ability down the middle and the choice seems obvious to me.

      Ballack: 5,5 of 10

      1. No Chelsea defender upgrade Zabaleta > Ivanovic. Downgade Koscielny > west-ham def (scheldule)

      2. Midtfield horrible Routledge, Tonev & Thomas is not top 100 k material. You need atleast four good midtfielders. Not an injured Thomas, a rotate risk in Routledge and unproven player in Tonev vs ChelseA and Arsenal.

3, Good offense, but no Dzeko or Luaku that will come out strong. Sturridge injured. Need to find a cheaper option for upgradind MF.

Just booted Ivan for Cole as I'm not so sure Ivan will play both games. Esp. seeing as Cole didn't play for England.
      Rat could be Collins.
Prefer Clyne to Shaw. Greater attacking potential.
Needs bargain of the year, Toure, in there, imo.

Regarding cheapo budget defenders Chester & Brayford seem the popular picks atm.

Hull have signed Curtis Davies which would suggest one of Faye or Chester loses their place at centre back,
Cardiff have signed Brayford and Caulker. Not sure how accurate this http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/craig-bellamy-captain-cardiff-city-5721295 is but it seems adamant that Brayford won't start and that Turner is the safrer option.

Maybe some Hull or Cardiff fans here know more?

Who's making more points in the long run? Ignore price differences please.

        That's what I've been thinking.

        My worry is:
If Sturridge and Soldado should make the same amount of points (which I believe), then I'm afraid Coleman will be a better choice than Kolo, becuase of the amount of assists + goals?

    What you guys think?? RMT

I'm pretty set on the front 8, not sure about defence..

    Migs (Henderson)

    Zaba - Kos - B.Turner (Chester-Ward)

Hazard - Walcott - Silva - Mirallas (Kim)

    Lukaku - Sturridge - Soldado

Sturridge to Benteke, Soldado to Lukaku and spend the rest upgrading Chester to A. Cole.

      Now you have my team.

Haven't heard any talk of Lampard here for the double which surprises me. He's in my team but not sure he'll start both.

Currently have Ivan, Hazard and Lampard as my Chelseas but considering dropping him and doubling on their defence with Cole. What do ye think

Are people banking on Coleman getting assists rather than clean sheets? I don't think Martinez is known for his defensive play

Are there any better options at 5.0m, other than Toure?

Toure is the only option which stands out to me at 5m. Other than that I think you're better off saving the 0.5 and going for a rotating pair of 4.5s (assuming you have a bench fodder 4.0 you can upgrade).
