The ScoutCast – Episode 110 – Cosmo

He’s well travelled. He’s multi-lingual. He’s just 19 points behind me. Despite my best start to a Fantasy Football season in living memory, Granville is right on my tail. In this latest episode of the ScoutCast, Granville takes delight in taunting me by wrapping his tongue around every “Pochettino” with ease, leaving me to struggle like Paul Merson with a mouth ulcer.

In between the mispronunciations, myself and the “cosmopolitan Manc” get heated about Robin Van Persie, rinse through the Gameweek 1 bandwagons, preview the weekend’s action and welcome the flying start made by this season’s ScoutCast team. It’s breathless stuff, squeezed into a low fat 40 minutes.

    Hehe. ty for your comment. I tired to put more space between the def and mid but this seems to have autocorrected it.
    Olsson is a punt I know but hoping he will get to the starting XI now that they had such a poor performance last time. That said do we know the starting XI before FPS closes the team pick for GW2?

    Olsson is a concern for me too but why Lambert? Im sure (like I was sure that Lukaku will start in GW1) that he will play (and score). Osvaldo souldnt be a problem?

  Villa looked pretty decent defensively last 2 games too be honest. Still think it's worth a punt as sturridge is fpl gold dust though. Soldado/Benteke for me. I cant look past those 2 this week

      Both reasonable choices if you're saving cash. Ben arfa riskier but better fix and can go wild if you're lucky. Nolan more consistent.

I told people anelka had too high of an ownership and wouldn't gather many points, everyone said at 5.5m he was gold.

Now....

Next best option was Jrod, but Osvaldo screws that up 😛

Loving life with my decision to have Soldado instead, funded by the downgrade of Bale 😉

Who should my captain choice for Gameweek 2 week out of Mirallas/Walcott,Dzeko, Soldado?

I like Evertons home fixture against West Brom, but in all honesty I went along with the pre-season Mirallas bandwagon, without knowing too much about him or his potential. I expect Everton to have greater attacking returns for this season, and was impressed with how they played against Norwich.

I'm a little wary of choosing Walcott as Fulham away is a game I can see Arsenal struggling in, however in such a fixture Walcott is their most likely player to score.

If I knew Dzeko was going to start this decision would be close to a no brainer for me, but with this uncertainty/not sure how competent Cardiffs defence will be....it makes a decision a little harder.

Whilst I don't think Soldado is a great footballer, I think he'll be in the top three scorers in the league this season, and I think his season returns will actually be higher WITHOUT Bale in the side. I think Swansea struggle against incisive attacking sides and I'd put Spurs in that category. Personally for me I'm leaning towards Soldado but would be interested in what you guys think??

  Read two Southampton fan comments and both said that there soudnt be a rotation risk with those two. Lambert might be playd behind Osvaldo in the hole though. But that shouldnt lower hes points that much.

Good morning all, just back from 3 days top fishing and beer drinking, no internet, so just checked my points. More than pleased to hit an exact hundred, loads to catch up on. Touted Benteke al pre season, he ain't letting me down. How did Hazard look? Also Lukaku, is it time to get rid?

  Lukaku looked ok when he came on, Torres and Ba were poor so a good chance he'll start this week. His price dropping further is a worry though, I think I'll be moving him on

  Welcome home you. Just the 80 for me. Lukaku's mins are at, well, they're at a minimum, so he'll drop in price again tonight I expect. Hazard is still to deliver, the blank coming up, so it's a bench for gw3 or bin for Silva. I've binned both. No patience in my old age.

What do you guys think is more important in general - to choose players who have the potential to give you MASSIVE returns, but are at the risk of rotation... i.e Hazard/Aguero, or to go for players who are more nailed on and will give you more consistent and reliable returns, i.e Soldado/Nolan/Walcott etc.

  I'd say Walcott actually has potential to go crazy and is nailed on so he's thr best type
  
  For rotation risks I prefer them to be good value. So dzeko is acceptable because he can perform so much better than 7.5mil. If aguero/hazard/mata start getting rotated I'd keep away.

  Snoddy is as nailed on as christ when fit.. they need him badly in midfield as was evident in the lackluster game vs everton. And he's been training since wednesday and should be match fit now. so he's not a worry. Rat and Anelka your only concerns tbh as the Blankers look good goin forward
