The Fantasy Flutter with Paddy Power – Gameweek 2

Before we take a look at the Scout Pick markets for Gameweek 2, a reminder that Paddy are offering exclusive enhanced odds for Fantasy Football Scout visitors on Robin Van Persie to score anytime in Monday night’s game. Available to new accounts only, if you’ve yet to get a Paddy Power account, you can sign up and get these exclusive odds right here. Existing account holders can also get in on the act with Van Persie: Paddy have a money back special on offer for the Chelsea clash.

Van Persie aside, and with our weekly tenner in hand, lets look at some of the other names in this week’s Scout Picks and see how Paddy’s number crunchers rate their chances.

A man of the match showing in Monday’s 4-0 Magpies mauling failed to bring Edin Dzeko a goal but we’ve taken a punt on the Bosnian for the Picks this week. Rotation is always a concern but with Dzeko in full flow, we see him starting at Cardiff and carrying a big threat to Malky MacKay’s men. Paddy aren’t quite so sure, offering 5/1 on a Dzeko goal with a City clean sheet, odds perhaps influenced by the injury to Vincent Kompany. We reckon this is fairly generous and we’re happy parting with £4 of our stake money.

Our gamble on Dzeko forced Southampton’s Rickie Lambert onto the Scout Picks bench but he remains a hot property ahead of the St Mary’s clash with Sunderland. Off the mark from the spot at West Brom last time out, Lambert may now feel under threat from new striker, Pablo Osvaldo, which might well fuel a convincing display against the Black Cats. Again, Paddy have priced a Lambert goal with a Southampton clean sheet at 5/1, enough to tempt another £2 from our weekly purse.

Our final two markets switch to midfield with Paddy dangling 6/1 on a Kevin Mirallas goal and an Everton clean sheet in their home clash with West Brom. Similarly, they match those odds for Stoke’s Britannia clash with Crystal Palace, with Scout Pick Jon Walters offered at 6/1 for an anytime goal with a Potters clean sheet against Ian Holloway’s side. Of the two, we’re going to opt for Mirallas, putting up our final £4 quid on the Belgian and the Toffees to deliver.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Is doubling up on Boruc & Shaw this week worth the risk or should I just play Chester(NOR) ahead of Shaw?

Seems like every second comment over the last few days has either been "who to play from Chester, Toure or Turner?" or "who do I captain?"

Read through a few pages people and you'll see plenty of replies to the question you probably want to ask

I think Willian is a bit more direct than some of the other players in Chelsea and knowing how he ran us ragged I think he's going to do well for us. Sure, at Spurs he'd probably play more but if his qualities shine through I expect him to be a hit (probably on the right wing).

Generally, when in doubt going for the player playing at home is a good deciding factor. I've never really understood why home/away plays such a big factor but it absolutely categorically does. That said, I have Dzeko captain this week but would probably go Soldado if I had him.

Great forward line. (same as mine!) Having Aguero means downgrading a MF could get you RVP quite easily.

Pienaar. Flair pick. PLaying in the front 3. Could be golden.

I would go Nasty over Lescott. A slight risk he's not back this week, but the better long term pick when Kompany is back.

        Good luck mate.

Ta, I like Lescott for goal threat and he will be there for the next 3 odd gameweeks, easy enough to swap out thereafter. One of the big 3 mids is to be swapped with soldado for RVP and a dire midfielder for gw 4.

Dzeko was statistically the best striker last weekend (apart from goals scored!)
E.g. Twice as many goal attempts as Soldado
    City look bang on form
    They have a nice fixture

Dzeko looks the logical captaincy choice this weekend

As long as he starts.....that's the gamble.
