The Big Numbers – Gameweeks 1-3 – Defenders

With another seven days left until the deadline for Gameweek 4, there’s plenty time to ponder the numbers in our Members section. While some Fantasy managers still contemplate pressing the wildcard button, we take a look at some of the most notable attacking statistics on offer so far – in the first in a series of three articles, we begin with the defenders.

    Hey DZ!

    Locked on this WC setup:

    Migs, Davis
    Vidic, Coleman, Kosc, Chester, Burner
    Walcott, Lamps, HBA, Brady, JWP
    RVP, Benteke, Giroud

Sturridge could be considered for Tekkers.
    Thoughts?

Looks better than it should for an RvP team. if i were an RvPliever, this is very near the team I'd pick.

I don't believe JWP is nailed on long term. He's a young lad with JRod and Ramirez fighting for his spot.

I'm aware of that but I'll take my chances anyway.
If stops playing I'll try to get another bench fodder.

This is almost the exact team I posted here earlier, except I'm rolling out a 3-4-3 with Hernandez in place of JWP and a 3-way defensive rotation in place of Vidic.

    Boruc (foster)
    Ivan Coleman Chester (murner ward)
    Wally coutinho miralas tarabt (kim)
    Soldado lambert Rvp.... -tive1.6m ITB

    A: miralas >> Brady (-4)
    B: miralas + Ivan >> Hernandez/barfa + koscielny (-8)
    C: miralas + foster >> Hernandez + myhill (-8)

I expect most ppl to say A but it will leave me wid mids that have bad games in gw5(Brady/tarabt/kim)....and in order to upgrade them, I need to remove Ivan who I don't think will do better then koscielny...hence I am leaning towards B.

Happy to play Brady...but thinking Abt next gw also
        - kim (TOT)...bad fix
        - Brady (newc) away fixture but good fixtures after that
        - tarabt (chel) away fixture but good fixtures after that

So basically I can upgrade kim next gw, but need funds from Ivan downgrade.

But u make a fair point on foster, hence proposed C

I'm not sure it's worth the double hit for a second keeper UN. I suppose it may depend on price changes as well.
If you're taking hits early is best I guess. Good luck with your choice.

            Hopefully.

I always planned to get Witts/Kim for Hazard to allow for RVP.

Plus a Cardiff def at 4m was always on the cards. Where I slipped up was getting Marshall as well, so be forced into Cardiff double at times with Toure now injured.

and tbh I didn't expect him to be OOP. I thought for sure with Leo out the first game he'd slot into LB. and I didn't realize he'd be on so many set pieces

Me too. My gut instinct tells me to get him (with Brady or Whit) but the idea of three cheap mids doesn't sit well with me.

Plus there's the very strong possibility that a front line of Goldado/Studge/Benteks/Giroud will do just as well.

Yes, it's basically 3 cheap midfielders (5.5 max) versus 1.

The reason he's back on my radar is this Sturridge injury.

I've got him as well - not happy with, not happy without. Three games in and Studger is injured already - RVP can fill that spot for his nice fixtures until Suarez finds his fitness and sharpness. Suarez + 3.1m to spend on midfielders looks good value to me.

Hi Rohan, yeah I noticed your comment about existenialism which is a philosophy in writing I was keen to explore.

Fowles writes a lot on this theme but he just happens to be a brilliant writer.

Read The Magus. It's a very disturbing psychological piece of writing. It left me in bits for weeks afterwards. I even visited the small Greek island where it is set.

Sturridge says God is accountable for him missing the England game, but that The Big Man is well intentioned.

"Gutted I'm not fit for Ukraine. One of those things I guess. God willing I can make it back for Swansea #Godisgood"

So with Capuoe out, do we think Sandro will be a direct replacement or will Paulinho drop deeper?

paulinho will stay deeper and sandro might come in.

it'll either be 4231 with paulinho and dembele/sandro behind eriksen or it'll be 433 with eriksen the most advanced of the midfield 3 with paulinho and dembele/sandro a bit behind
