Suspensions

The Suspension Tightrope – Galling

A couple of Frenchman are set for a short stint on the sidelines after falling foul of the referee’s wrath over the weekend’s fixtures. Mathieu Debuchy and Mathieu Flamini received their fifth yellow cards of the campaign, meaning both are set to serve a one-match suspension in Gameweek 12:

Debuchy’s caution in Newcastle’s 1-0 win at White Hart Lane will force him out of the upcoming home game against Norwich as Alan Pardew’s side go in search of a third successive clean sheet. The right-back’s absence is a real blow to the Tyneside team – he has played every minute of the season so far, though the versatile Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa could deputise, allowing fit-again Fabricio Coloccini the chance to slot in alongside Mike Williamson in the heart of the backline.

Flamini has certainly show a flair for racking up the cards since returning to the Emirates this summer. The holding midfielder has received five cautions in just 511 minutes’ game time – his absence for the upcoming visit of Southampton should see Aaron Ramsey shift back into the double-pivot alongside Mikel Arteta, after the Welshman was moved to the right flank once again away to United yesterday.

The Suspension Tightrope welcomed a number of new faces in the Gameweek gone by. West Brom duo Jonas Olsson and Claudio Yacob, Hull’s defensive rock Curtis Davies, Fulham’s Scott Parker, Chelsea right-back Branislav Ivanovic and Norwich’s Michael Turner all climbed aboard on Saturday. Sunday’s matches saw Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere, Spurs centre-half Michael Dawson, City’s Javi Garcia, United utility man Phil Jones, Stoke centre-half Robert Huth, Swansea pair Chico and Angel Rangel and Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko also earn their fourth bookings of the season.

Only four clubs – Liverpool, Cardiff, Palace and Southampton – are not represented in the updated widget on your sidebar, which now heaves under the weight of 23 players.

In terms of ongoing suspensions, Sunderland pair Andreas Dossena and Lee Cattermole will sit out the second of a three-match ban in the upcoming round of matches– both will be available for the Gameweek 14 visit of Chelsea. Swansea stopper Michel Vorm makes a return after serving a one-match ban in Sunday’s 3-3 draw with Stoke.

Anyone mind having a look at my team and suggesting on how to improve it? Link: http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/624174/event-history/11/

I think the only way is to ditch Baines tbh. I have to upgrade my midfield. Want Hazard instead of Oscar too ideally.

    Thx in advance.

Your midfield is fine, just have to rotate januzaj and Mitch according to fixtures. You'll be left stuck if both don't start in same week though.
I'd be more focused on strengthening defence for better CS possibilities. Either way baines has to make way

Love the freedom of a wildcard!! Just playing for price rises at the moment, but team looks pretty nice!

    Boruc Marshall
    Clyne GJ Chico Coleman Jagielka
    Toure Lallana Cabaye Ramsey Morrison
    Aguero Suarez Remy

Reckon the ones that will definitely stay in there are Boruc, Jagielka, Ramsey, aguero and Suarez.
Any suggestions of differentials to help make up some ground?

What move is better or possibly offers more differential:

    1. Lukaku--> remy

Midfield: ozil, Ramsey, Brady, Janu, Ravel
    Strikers: Lukaku, Suarez, Rooney

Need someone to talk me out of option 2 although Hazard has good games and Sagbo has scored in a few games recently and playing Crystal Palace at home next GW.

Baines is keeping pace, 12 baps just 2 behind the leader and when he gets an assist or goal, he's certain to pick up more.

Baines scored 24 baps last season, this season he's already on 12 after 11 games.

The only thing that will stop him is if Everton don't get FK's or penalties.

Because Baines has only got attacking points in one game. Even so, we are talking about 2 points over 11 games, hardly enough data to prove he is outscoring him.

The right ventricle is more compliant and has a thinner muscular wall compared to the left ventricle. the aorta transports blood from left ventricle that has thick muscular wall generating increased contractility - does that make sense ?

Right side only pumping blood to the lungs & back.

Left side pumps it all the rest of the way round the body - has to put in more of a shift.

Right side smaller than left - less muscle - less pressure when it squeezes.

advice on this team appreciated, having a terrible season so far:

    Mig (Boruc)
    Chico Coleman Zabaleta (Lovren, Reid)
    Ozil Januzaj Yaya Lallana (Barkley)
    Aguero Lukaku Sturridge

seems Reid is priority to replace, followed by Zabaleta? but hesitant to take more hits (especially for defenders)

good options thanks. was thinking the same to keep Zabaleta for another week, just already down below my purchase price, due more drops and potential rest after internationals has me worried

    Ozil / Lukaku to:

    A) RVP and Bacuna/JWP; or
    B) Rooney and Sessegnon/7.7m

    or...

The "safer" Lukaku > Remy for not hit?

Looking at the Merseyside derby history, it's a mixed bag in terms of number of goals. Some 0-0, some 1-1's, some 2-2's.

I think I'm right in saying that Suarez has played in four derbies in all competitions and scored in three of them. The one he didn't was Gerrard's hattie and he assisted at least one of those goals so Suarez has never blanked in a Merseyside derby.

      2-2
      0-2
      2-0
      0-2

With no big hitting mids covering themselves in glory Atm, I'd say get a Cabaye\Sess and RvP if you have the cash. He's started gettin into his stride and we know he's hard to stop when he gets going.

Why is everyone selling Sturridge now?

He has eve hul NOR WHM in the next four which is a pretty attractive set of fixtures particularly as the derby is more likely to see red cards than dominant defences.

I'm keeping along with Suarez and Aguero

I think many may be getting rid so they can upgrade to Suarez.

It's what I did - and looking at the total ownership - I can't be alone in that….

Either that or they are just flitting form one scoring striker to another chasing points.
eg. Sturridge blank so sell for Remy or Rooney ?
