Paddy Power Special – Villa 9/1 to Win at West Brom

Once again, Paddy Power have delivered a tempting offer ahead of this evening’s midlands derby at The Hawthorns. Our bookmaker friends are offering improved odds of 9/1 on an Aston Villa win at West Brom in the final match of Gameweek 12.

Given that the regular odds on a Villa victory are just 5/2, this is clearly another great deal for those yet to sign up with Paddy. Click here to take advantage of this offer.

To clarify, the Villa enhanced odds specials are limited to a £10 stake, are open to new Paddy Power customers only and subject to the terms and conditions specified.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

    Good evening gents

quick question about UCL Fantasy: is Adriano (Barca) injured, I know he played the last match but he's red flagged in the game for some reason. (did he pick up an injury after the game?)

Would I be mad to do Ozil --> Oscar when I already have Hazard, and then in a couple of weeks Oscar --> Wally?

Dont want to rush into Wally.

Yeah if you're sacrificing Arsenal cover in midfield.

      My midfield currently reads

      Walcott - Ramsey - Oscar - Hazard

So i'm prob not the best to comment lol.

Just remember Podolski is two weeks out. Giroud is in dire need of rest. Wenger has admitted the return of Walcott gives him more attacking options. Wally can play as a striker.

I did Ozil to Wally this week.

I need the money to get rid of a Swans defender, for some stupid reason, I doubled up on them. Ozil isn't justifying his massive price tag and Wally looks a good bet. It's a bit annoying the Man C fixture isn't a week later or something. I don't know SZ! 🙁

Repost but curious - anyone without Aguero considering Negredo?

They are working well as a two, Aguero for such a great striker is quite unselfish and Pellagrini has said Neg is his ideal Prem striker. Not bad for nearly £3 million less...

This is only my 1st SERIOUS season of FPL (played casually for a few seasons but always forgot to make transfers, would lose my 2nd FT, would forget to solidify my lineup before the start of the season after just plugging in 15 to have my team just 'in place'), where I'm actually paying attention to all teams beyond recreationally watching games..it's a ton of fun but I'm doing something wrong:

Next season I'm going to have a firm policy of taking zero, or as few, hits as possible unless my hand is absolutely forced by some crazy string of injuries to my players or something of the like. I've taken a -4 once this season, a -8 4 times, and a -12 once. It's just out of control. I'm too lazy to check the final differential between points lost from hits and points I would have had if I just stuck, but I have to imagine based on that, I'm at least in the negative somewhat, if not a lot. 22 transfers so far this season AND my wildcard already played.

        Migs, Lewis
        Clyne, Coleman, Rosenior, Burner, Rat
        Januzaj, Ravel, Hazard, Ramsey, Gerrard
        Suarez, Aguero, Rooney

I like my team, though I want to do a FT this week but am going to do my best to remain resolute and hold it for next week so that going forward I can always do my 1 FT (so as to not lose my 2nd FT) and have the luxury of doing a double with no hit if I really need to.

I know it could use some work (ESPECIALLY the defense), but I will remain strong! Last time I didn't take a hit was GW9..wish me luck.

    Is the following not enough

    Aguero,

    Rooney,
    Giroud
    Lukaku
    Remy
    Benteke

Little or No risk for a decent reward?

    4.5m def, great fixtures.
CS hard to predict at the best of times.
Winter WC coming up soonish, so saves a transfer if it goes pear-shaped.

Was discussed this morning .... The debate is still out but see below for comments

It is very simple for me. With any player, you have to put yourself on the training field. If you do that, you will be in with a chance of playing. Jon Flanagan was immense. He will be in a derby that is shown on Sky Golden in 30 years' time because of his desire and will to put himself out there every day.- BR

It moved Steven Gerrard to say: "Our star man for me was Jon Flanagan by a country mile. He doesn't get many headlines but as captain of the team he was the player I am most proud of. I thought he was unbelievable. He's been fighting hard in training just to get in the 18, never mind the starting 11, but the manager threw him in at the deep end against a top-class player like [Kevin] Mirallas and I thought he was sensational. It was one of the best derby performances I have seen for many years. He reminds me of [Jamie] Carragher in a lot of ways. I don't think you would judge Jon in terms of ability or skill,"

Last time I didn't take a hit was GW9..wish me luck.

yeah, I've resigned myself to the fact that strikers are great, my midfield is pretty good, my keep is great (backup is not), and my defense could use work. this will just be a repeat of this past gameweek where I'll hope for the best from my defense and know that I have offensive players to make up for them.

A lot depends on why you play the game..I love footy and FPL more than I like finishing high up the overall...if that makes sense. I got Sess for tonight's game because he is right up there with Hazard and Lallana for touches in the penalty area and because he's on the telly tonight and i have somebody to shout for...not bothered really about him taking me up the overall rank

Yeah I'm not in it to get 1st place, it's for banter with friends and it gives me the extra thing to, like you said, shout for when watching matches that don't involve Man United. Fun to get 1st in my leagues with friends but couldn't really be bothered with overall rank (though they do I guess go hand in hand)..

I've lost track of how many seasons I've been doing this now but I'm still learning things. I've always been a bit too hit-happy myself and I think the value of saving transfers has finally dawned on me. My 5-way rotation in defence has worked pretty well too and that's a tactic I haven't tried before either.

Your team looks decent so good luck with your first proper stab at FPL!

More importantly, advice for this team?

    Boruc (4.0)

Glen Johnson - Nastastic - Coleman (Gabbidon - Burner)

Hazard - Özil - Sess - Cabaye (Ravel)

    Aguero - Suarez - Lukaku

    1.7m in the bank.
