With the frantic festive period now behind us, we can finally take stock and assess the statistics over the last few matches. Having last looked at the data in Gameweek 17, we have three sets of matches to investigate – Arsenal’s midfield, Tottenham’s attack and United and City’s frontmen are all placed under the microscope this time around:

Did you know Moyes is born on the 25/4/1963

If you do 2x5x4x1x9x6x3 you will get 6480

    Add 6, 4,8 and 0 and you get 18.

So Moyes should be a lucky manager, according to Tan's theory.

Don't worry fellow Man U fans this is 2014 is gonna be a good yeah

    Note- For 2014

    2x1x4=8

So 2014 is a lucky year anyway

Third year in a row I am around 50k at this time of year.... Last 2 years I finished in top 1k at the end.. I hope this season will be the same... but... I am very dissapointed because I can't play first part of season good... If I manage to do that I can finish in top 100 easy..
Is there someone who have similar problem but play very good first part and very bad second part of season??? We can make team together for next year and he can be manager for first 19 gameweeks and I will be from 20-38... We can maybe win the thing together 😀 ...

Surely playing the wc is best philosophy?

You get all the players you want before they rise. If you leave money for aguero on the side then you're covered. Where is the negative?

Sure new players will arrive but it's a risk to put them in straight away. If they have a blistering start you can sub in.

Can't see the issue with early wc. There aren't any DGWs are there? Will the league cup shuffle things about?

        Mashall (Gazzaniga)

        Koscielny Terry Coleman (Gabbidon Chester)

        Hazard Sterling Walcott Yaya (Bannan)

        Suarez(c) Podolski Rooney

Pretty useless. About 5 players I'd like to cut out.

It's not terrible for the next couple of games.
You have a good defence and the three key midfielders.
Depends if you see any benefit in waiting for Aguero to come back or finding out if Adebayor is fit.
Podolski and Sterling will obviously need shifting at some point.

I might keep Rooney this week to save the FT, then go for Kun. Then find a way to get RvP in for CAR if he's fit

The downside of this would be holding off on Arsenal defence until wc, and that could be bad with price rises

yes but you have to remember that Mert and Kos both started at the same price.. Think about their value their and relate that to current price.

Besides if I was buying a defender based on goal threat, I'd just find another 0,3 and get John Terry

I don't think JT is half the goal threat Merte is.

The only reason (being honest) to put kosc in ahead of merte is the price...that mill could upgrade a player elsewhere.

But I think merte will outscore kosc by at least 30% in remaining games from goals n baps alike.

None would start every week but Cabaye would get the most starts, Barkley wouldn't fit the system at Man U and Lallana would rotate with all the other wingers, remember Young was once a star man at an upper midtable club.

How was your festive season (GW 17-20)? Was it a bumper or a damp squid?

For me, it was "okay". I went from 242,840th to 103,869, all green arrows and no major squad problems heading into the break. I was targeting breaking the top 100,000, but i'll settle for close to it and some momentum in my season after a very poor start. Hoping for a top 20k finish at the least!

Standout festive signings that paid off for me were Walcott and Debuchy, with Silva getting a nod as well. Only real regret is getting Cabaye instead of Eriksen as my Ramsey replacement, I was weighing the two of them up and comparing stats, and Cabaye just had the superior form and numbers, so I can't moan too much.

Disappointment of the festive period was probably Lukaku, he did okay, but with the fixtures I along with many others were hoping for more..

Yes - only with WC looming and watching price changes and fixtures.
He's a solid player…but the extra 0.1 could give me a decent 4 Mids without him in the line up - so no point keeping him for MCI while the Llama is going up this week (0.2 hopefully) and playing the Baggies at home.

Mainly a short term financial move…
..but Lall has been playing well and getting forward alot.
Slightly better fixtures I felt for the next 2 weeks than Eriksen and so he won out, as hoping to sell him on with my WC.

Long term - difficult to call who will be more effective, but Lallana's track record seems stronger. Cough up a membership and you can check out some really in depth stats - but I haven't gone that far as I am only looking at next 2 weeks.

Big bonus was that he's halfway to gathering 0.2 rise (for 0.1 in the bank) tonight already…and I figure there'll be plenty of people pulling in him or Eriksen in to get me the other missing 0.1 this week.

I would say no as there are many other viable options. Don't get me wrong if money is no object then you should get him.

The way to look at it is to compare your team with him and your team without him.

You will find most of the players are the same with only a few differences. Therefore, you compare the group of different players and see what group you think will earn most points and go with that option. [well that is how I do it :S]

I never understand this 'bench dilemma' thing. People seem to think it's better to not have a decent player in their squad at all than to have them on their bench.

But, it's silly to have expensive rotating options on the bench each week...that's what maybe he's trying to say.

With that lineup, JRod becomes the guy who rides the pine most every week.

1FT nothing in the bank. Would like Koscielney but would mean losing Terry, not keen but would free up funds. Next problem is Morrisons but my selling price is 4.6 million and cant see any decent options in that price bracket. Any advice appreciated?

Is Scott Parker good replacement for Ravel Mo?

I went for Pozuelo. Very cheap and now nailed on as Pablo and Dyer are out.

Parker is a decent shout for a fifth mid.
