Not sure what happened to my last post but there's strong evidence to suggest that the premium defender route beats the premium mid option. Over the first 20 GWks, money spent moving from budget to premium defenders gets you 19pts per 1m. For mids, its 10pts per 1m!!!

It is true but misleading to take into consideration for the second half of the season. It is easier to build defensive solidarity than attacking fluidity which was seen in the beginning of the season. Now, for the second half of the season, good attacking midielders will score more points than premium defenders.

I agree that defenders are great value for the money! But, defenders can get FPL points without providing any sort of goal/assist threat. If you have all mid- to low-price defenders, you're going to catch an awful lot of 2-pt. performances each week. Having a premium defense makes up for that? I'm not being a jerk, it's a real question 🙂
