Monitor – Adebayor and Eriksen

As Tottenham’s momentum under Tim Sherwood continues to build, two of their first-team have emerged as leading contenders for our Fantasy attention. Since the departure of Andre Villas-Boas, Emmanuel Adebayor has played a part in six (three goals and three assists) of Spurs’ 11 goals over five matches, whilst Christian Eriksen has chipped in with three goals and an assist.

With 36 points apiece in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, many wildcard drafts currently include one of the duo in light of Sherwood’s penchant for attacking football. Both are still very favourably priced, with Adebayor slightly more expensive at 7.8 to 7.3 and, as interest intensifies, we cast an eye over the pair’s recent displays and also compare them to other options in their respective classifications.

Transferred without hitting WC button and took a 28pt hit.....

People said that it will be reversed if I do another transfer and hit the WC button, so I went back in and tried to hit "make transfers' button but cant click it as I have no changes.

So I swap Whitt to Chambers and it says -4 in red, I then hit play WC and it will go through but will it then not deduct the -28 at the end of gameweek?

Is this 100% correct?

    If I own Mertesaker @ 6M and his buy price is 6.5M, if he gets injured and dives dramatically by 0.3M does this affect the value I hold him at or just the purchase price? Will his value in my team drop in a linear fashion?

      you get 50% of rises, e.g you bought at 6, sell at 6.2 but were he to rise to 6.6 you would sell at 6.3m. If drops below your purchase price you lose every 0.1, but also regain every 0.1 back to the original purchase price.

Mertesacker or Kolarov?

A) Mertesacker is a threat off set pieces, Arsenal are likely to keep 2 clean sheets in the next 3 games and he'll hopefully pick up a few bonus points.

B) Or should I put Kolarov in next game who is likely to get a clean sheet and perhaps a goal/assist. Problem is is that I'm not sure if he'll play enough minutes to get the clean sheet and it's not likely for him to score/assist despite his form since he's a defender. I can swap Kolarov after the Cardiff game for Cole though.

    I had Silva, grew tired of him recently, not likely to get more than 1 goal/assist. Admittedly that happens frequently. I've seen Ozil play badly every televised game I've watched, the b@stard will be gold now, of course.

    I could go on about Back to the Future. Just re-saw the first one a few months back......it's always entertaining. On another note, you get that comment I made once (in reference to your username) about Bowie at the Beeb? Old 60's 70's stuff. I assume you dig Bowie, and for moi, that was his finest stuff. Kooks, Little Boy Blue.....etc., etc....

      I remember seeing it yeah, will download. actually 'bowie' in the title character in an old megadrive/genesis strategy RPG from 1994, shining force 2, bit sad but I love that game.

        Oh. I did wonder if it could be something else. I'm not a huge Bowie fan, per se, but that Bowie at the Beeb stuff is ridiculous. So good through and through (some guy at work once burned it for me, or I would probably not know about it). And, who doesn't love a little "Let's Dance" every now and again?

  My thinking is that you either have two defensive stalwarts and three cheapies who rotate, or three defensive stalwarts and two ubers who rotate.
  I don't think that Navas is nailed on and Gerrard will drop deeper so will rely on set pieces and penalties.
  But with Suarez and Sturridge going down because they caught a hammering from someone's eyelash then Gerrard is a solid pick.
  Parr: not so sure.

    Well with Nasri out Navas might be worth the risk but yeah might switch him to Silva. What do you recommend I do with Parr?

      In reference to Navas......took him a bit o' time to get into the squad and feel comfy in England. I think he's bedding down now and having a good go of it.

        My sentiments exactly. And with lethal strikers like Aguero and Negredo, Navas is bound to get a lot of assists imo. Only thing is he's more inconsistent than Silva and Silva is more likely to earn bonus points.

Having already missed out on the Aguero price rise earlier I think I can give myself the rest of the day to ponder over getting him in.

Since he was always the priority I think I'm tending towards getting him in. It won't be for w hit but I'd reluctantly get rid of Negredo who has only been in my team for 1 week.

    Chelsea fan myself and I am very convinced. We haven't conceded a goal in the PL since Ivan went off injured against Pool.
    
    Prior to that Jose favored Azpi at LB ahead of Cole. Although it meant playing 2 players OOP and conceeding most of the goals due to that ( at least in my opinion) the addition of Matic is gonna provide an added layer of still to our midfield.
    
    I'd keep/ buy Azpi but wouldn't expect too many attacking points
