The ScoutCast – Episode 124 – Fizz

There’s very little fizzing away within Granville’s Fantasy lineup right now but, while the Mancunian can justifiable lament his stagnant squad, I’m having to console myself with the smallest of victories – namely a sniveling 9-point Gameweek victory. Get some perspective, Granville.

That’s not the reasoning behind this weeks moniker, however, as once again it’s the questions from the community that inspires the title of another ScoutCast episode. Rounding off with the usual interrogation from you, the listener, we start by dropping in on the regulars, whilst reviewing the ins and outs of the transfer window and touching on the Carroll’s flailing arm and Chelsea’s shackling of City.

    He returned last GW and he did very well, he apperas to be in great shape and ambitious, since he play home against stoke and Southampton it is playing well and he plays front as Striker, I´m feeling crazy and I think i will risk

massive post alert, in honor of the 6th of February:

Twas the night before Christmas, Old Trafford was bare.
The staff all gone home, there was nobody there..
The lights cast a shadow, a soft glimmer which
lit up the soft green grass on the pitch.

Just as the clock gave out its twelfth chime
An old man appeared, as if frozen in time.
He gazed at the tunnel, then broke out in voice
"ITS TIME TO BEGIN.. LETS HAVE YOU MY BOYS"

Out from the tunnel appeared a lone figure
Same as in life, only infinitely bigger
The old man called out as he slowly drew near
"good evening Duncan, are the rest of you here"

The figure broke out in wide open smile
"Good Evening Sir Matt, it has been a long while
The rest are all coming, they'll be here soon,"
As seven more shadows were cast by the moon.

Whelan and Bent, Pegg, Taylor and Byrne,
Jones , and Colman, they came out in turn.
He greeted each one, just by calling their name
then proudly announced "do you fancy a game"

They took to the pitch, and the still night was broken
By leather on leather, not one word was spoken
They played once again, like they did long before
And imagined the sound of the Old Trafford roar

Edwards called out "come on lads lets pretend
That we've just scored a goal at the old Stretford End"
As they ran to the edge of the pitch by the goal
There in the stands sat a solitary soul.

His eyes were all puffy, his cheeks wet with tears
As his mind wandered back to those wonderful years
"come down and join us" they cried all as one
"yes come down and join them" said Matt "go on son"

The lonely man stood and with much pain he said
"I'm afraid I can't play with you, you are all dead.
You are all ghosts, and I am alive
That was the price that I paid to survive"

My role was to go on, inspire the team
And finally realise Matt Busbys dream
To tell of your greatness, and as I get older
To burden the weight of your life on my shoulders."

The ghost of Sir Matt then raised up his head
Giving out a loud groan, he finally said
"Bobby, You survived, that much is true
But we wouldn't be here if it were not for you

That was the reason you had to survive
If you were with us, all we have would be gone
And the game that we play could no longer go on

If you can't understand why it happened this way

And then Bobbys face rose and he gave them a smile

They played and they played, as they did in the past
Only not quite as skilful, and not quite as fast
And when it was over, and when it was done
They'd defeated Benfica by four goals to one.

Then Sir Matt said "lads, its been fun you know
But It's now Christmas day, and we really must go"
They walked to the front of the stadium and turned
And Sir Bobby said "there is something I've learned"

"You did not die, on that February night
You're still here with us, as you're with me tonight
And you'll live on forever as long as we play"
As the ghosts disappeared down Sir Matt Busby way.

A: evans >> shaw..only def upto 5.1 that i will start most gw's
B: evans + caz >> shaw + silva (-4)....really want some city attacking coverage

      Ah that sucks should have got in there. I'd still look to get a chelsea defender. Maybe a cheaper mid then. Dont know if there's any mid priced mids worth getting though. Shaw and silva might be your best bet then. Maybe just Evans to Shaw this week though

  Tough choices. I can see there value and I did Caz > Yaya myself.
  Not sure Silva is worth a hit tbh especially as Caz could nick a goal himself.
  Shaw is a great pick over Evans but you need to decide if you want to upgrade AJs spot next week or downgrade it before you do that move.

    The reason why i am keen on the hit is that over a 3 week period, i think it will pay off. Next week's transfer is def AJ out so cant even bring in a city attacker then...

      Strikers vs each other or midfielders means little. Versus a defender is a different story. Wouldn't worry too much anyway as I think Eve will concede away to Tot but Coleman still has a chance to score.

  Notice the difference in Spurs with the current 4-2-3-1 compared to the previous 4-4-2. Eriksen and Spurs in general look less likely to score with this change

  It's a tough choice but if I had to pick between those two I would go for Hazard. He's been quiet far too long and he played really well against City. Man City have three fit strikers right now so Pellegrini could limit Dzeko's gametime to give Jovetic a chance.

  Tough one. Def more likely to explode is Dzeko but will he be benched? Hazard on form against an out of sorts Newcastle too though. I'm currently on Dzeko captain but I'm inching closer to Hazard and just be happy with what I get from Dzeko.

  Good feedback. The way I was leaning is that there is a similar percentage chance that dzeko will be involved in city goals as there is hazard for Chelsea. Therefore what team will score more? Probably City......just

  A lot of Palace going on. Is that necessary? I think the defence could do with a rejig. You don't need Azpi with Terry in there. Change to Reid and upgrade Gabbidon. Apart from that it looks dandy. Just my thoughts.

nice balance but no united attack would worry me.. obvious route is ade to rooney but its very tough to downgrade anybody else for -4pts with such strong form and fixtures.. as is, i'd probably go ade to dzeko

    i should've been more clear.. it's either one of these, plus bony to rvp for -4.. i genuinely believe people without rvp will miss out bigtime this week.. im far from a man utd fan, but how can people not think that at home vs a team who have conceded 27 in their last 9 games and who are showing no signs of an upturn in form, can hold the best goal scorer in the league, who just happens to be in form

        Perhaps no hit required if you're unsure. Aguero to Benteke is a good idea then. What's a minus 4 though if you play these guys over the course of a few gameweeks? Yaya vs. Norwich is so tasty. He has been carrying some niggles, however, so that is something to monitor over the next day.

  To answer your questions, I would maybe take a -4 to do both of those moves. If you can only do one, I might lead towards Yaya. As for the armband.........I have it on the RVPster.

      Ozil is simply not worth his price. He does not score enough goals to justify. Waiting for him to get back on some kind of scoring run did me considerable damage recently. Keep him at your own risk.
