FFS Paddy Power Cup IX and Members Cup IV – Second Round Draws

We roll out the draw for the Second of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IX and Members Cup IV, as sponsored by Paddy Power, after the First Round took place over Gameweek 28. Please not that, as explained in this initial article, these ties won’t take place until Gameweek 30 due to the numerous blanks in the fixture schedule this weekend:

In the Fantasy Football Scout IX, reigning champion Tdubb05 is through to the next round and will face Denis Denis when the action resumes. Looking at some of the other former champions, MCH takes on BroTown_Tindersticks, Jonty is up against coletrickle88, donnellyc squares up to Carlton Palmer and Gooner Dave takes on Fitzy.

The tie of the round sees two of the top 500 FPL managers go head-to-head.Skeptical, currently sitting in 136th spot in the overall standings, take on Lardy, who isn’t far behind in 470th spot.

You can click here to check out the second round draw, which gets underway next weekend, whilst the full list of first round results can be found here.

In the Members Cup IV, reigning champion Acqufresca fell at the first hurdle. He was knocked out by Caladan Brood, who now faces Quite Big Dunc next time around, whilst another former winner, Fuzzy Dunlop, takes on Droginexile. The top-ranked manager is 2nd Man – currently sitting in 380th overall, he’s up against Fitzy (39,504) for a place in the next round.

You can click here to check out the second round draw, which gets underway next weekend, whilst the full list of first round results can be found here.

As always, good luck to all those still in with a shout of the silverware.

You chaps know what's going on, tell me this.

What has happened to Ross Barkley?
Early season form points BPs, nailed on starter 4.5 opening price,
had everything going for him and has just dropped off the scene, Clearly there is more to it than a light injury here or there. Anyone have the inside story?

He's just a youngen and his early season form coincided with some of the established players struggling or injured, ie Mirallas and Pienaar. Now they have huge competition for places in midfield

this and RM doesnt want his stock to rise too quickly mooted as the future of english footbal he has to be tied down and told not to explode otherwise people will come sniffing 😉

They've done the same with that little Greek striker they have. But there is a danger they lose him if he doesn't start getting some game time. He only came to England to impress the Greek national team manager.

From the little he played and I saw of him, he makes very hot mustard with 50% curry powder and scotch bonnet chillies in look tame.

Really, you think that's all it is? Fair enough, one to watch for next year then maybe. Hopefully his price doesn't suddenly jump to start at 7.5.

Yeah I reckon mate. That and a combination of smart management making sure not to over burden him. He's still developing and has a lot to learn imo. Great talent though.
Should stay relatively cheap I reckon. Maybe around 6.0

He's very cheap £5.0 mil and my budget is very very tight with the players I have.
Metro were a lot smarter than any other game with their pricing and got it pretty much spot on, so little room to manouevre.

Nice. Getting the pricing spot on is absolutely key to an interesting season. All the talk about templates in fpl and rule changes to negate them is off point I reckon. Get the pricing right and you won't have templates

I have another ft and now that adam's out I'm thinking I should use it. My plans are to bring in Remy and AJ next week for free, Sterling and Baines gw31 for -4. So if I sell Adam now for free it essentially is costing me -2. Worth it for a Snoddy/Ince/Zaha?

THIS is what I'm really hoping as I don't mind getting Jags for the regular BAPS over Coleman for the not-so-regular goals

        would give me

        Mannone - Davis
        Zab - Jags - Azpi - Ward - Chester
        Gerrard - Nolan - Haz - Yaya - Noone

between 1 and 2 honestly as I don't trust Newcastle at the moment..

even though I was saying otherwise earlier today, I think you'd have to get in Kun at some point so #2 could be good specifically for GW31 as long as you have a plan to get him in..but if he looks like he'll play at least 90-100 minutes over both games then it's hard to ignore him..

If I dont get Kun in option 1, then I'll have to sell either one of Studge or Suarez post gw31. I'm not too concerned about his minutes, I'm sure he'll do well! Tough choices these. If you had to choose one, which one would you opt for?

well I don't think that the Distin v Coleman pick matters much..full back goals aren't something you should necessarily be relying on if you ask me..

Lukaku and Yaya are nailed and I have to imagine will be playing full 90's (especially if City do go out of the CL).

Nasri is probably nailed but not nearly as much as Yaya/Silva. He's a good option but not necessarily a reliable one.

So you're looking at Distin + two players who won't play 90s but could both do well on their day (especially Aguero who is all but certain to score or assist in any given match even with only 60 minutes or so) vs Coleman + two players who are nailed on for full games pretty much. It's a tough decision.

Can something budge elsewhere to soften the choice up?

In case I get Baines, I will be relying on some attacking points from my full back as opposed to Coleman and Distin

Its a real tough decision, most have opted for 3, but I get your point that NewC dont have much to play for so you wouldn't want to trust Remy

Which of these moves look best fellas?

    A) Snodgrass -> Mata (4 points)
    B) Sturridge -> RVP (4 points)
    C) No hits

Plan to WC in GW31 so only a 2 week punt.

    A) Mata is almost certain to play, but if Snoddy is fit this move looks questionable.

    B) RVP is the most explosive, but there are doubts over his fitness, and I'd lose 0.4m on Sturridge.

    C) would mean only having a maximum of the below starters this week:

    Terry, Ivanovic, Whittaker
    Hazard, Lallana, Snodgrass, Puncheon

    Adrian
    Azpi, Distin, Kosc
    Hazard, Gerrard, AJ, Yaya

    Davis; Colback, Chambers, Burner
