My co-host is almost back to full-fitness, exercising his rehabilitated vocal chords and wrapping his recovered tonsils around more double Gameweek discussion, along with a further round of community posers. Aguero’s double Gameweek potential, Granville’s fading faith in Moyes and our preferred flavour of crisps-based snack are amongst the hard-hitting topics on the agenda, following on from the usual bout of regulars.

          it's a tricky one. i think evra would be an ok bet, but utd just seem to be a barren area right now, think i'd look elsewhere and save the dough. utd's double is poor too

      6ppg when playing alongside Aguero isn't bad, but that's only on a par with Mata I suppose. Gerrad and Yaya are better options. Check out chances created for Silva of late, maybe he's not the problem.

        That's the problem though, he has not been converting good stats into points. The polar opposite of Yaya.

          Yeah, agreed. Sadly a player like Silva, who relies on assists as his main meal, also relies on the ability of the forwards..Look at how many chances Dzeko had, how many of those chances did Silva supply ? I don't know the answer but I bet it was a lot. Same applies to Mata...and Ozil...

            Terry's lost that yard of pace that used to give him the big advantage, Cahill now has that and wins every 1 vs 1 battle. Although Terry doesn't lose many.

          Goalies are hard to measure because they reflect the defence and not just themselves. Top shot stopper for the season is Marshall...but then he's had about 200 shots a game to save...Maybe no real stand out keeper at all this season.

      maybe, but taking hits on cheapish players only has a small chance of paying off. tough to buy players this week you'd want to hold onto, especially when the players you might sell have a double coming

      I don't think there'll be many points this week, even for those with 10 or 11. Due to the teams and fixtures involved. I think 40 will be a good score.

        40 will prob be an awesome score, which is my point, if you got that (and lets face it youre more likely with more players than without) then youll go up the ranks by a greater amoun than a normal week

          I don't think so. The decent players everyone on here will have. The extra few players you have for 10 or 11 will be people like Olsson. You are generally looking at 2 points each for these. 40 versus 34.

            yep but in a low av week with a small standard deviation, that is a huge difference....
            weve seen it in weeks before when theres been a big amount off ppl around the average, anyone slightly above it goes up a lot...... all speculation of course

      Listened to the scout cast there and heard mark talking about fantasy football when forrest were in the league, made me think how long has fantasy football being going on for? i've only been playing for a few seasons and also how many players were there at the start?

        I think 2002/3 was the first FPL season, but other games have been going longer. I remember playing the Telegraph game in the mid 90s, when you had to make transfers by post or by calling a premium rate phone number!
