Captain Sensible – Gameweek 32

Last week’s runaway winner of the Captain Poll, Luis Suarez delivered yet again with 25 points accrued over Liverpool’s pair of fixtures against Cardiff and Sunderland. The Uruguayan was usurped by Yaya Toure, though, with the City midfielder ending Gameweek 31 as the top scoring player on 31 points – surprisingly, in spite of his outstanding season, you have to go all the way back to Gameweek 17 to find the last time Suarez finished top-scoring player in any round of matches:

Once again, we analyse the armband options on offer in our weekly members article. Taking the top five in this week’s Captain Poll (Suarez, Wayne Rooney, Eden Hazard, Toure and Romelu Lukaku) as our starting point, we construct a members table based around a number of their key statistics in order to flag up any other players offering a similar sort of threat.

      I just thought about it, and basically no matter what, I'd be getting Eriksen. Those run-in fixtures are great, he's playing well, he's at a good price. Nothing not to like. Lallana is a bit pricier, and considering I want to get Rooney back for the last 3 weeks, I need the pennies to save up for him.

      Both quite attacking, zaba in better team probably get more chances = Zaba wins.
      
      If you are far behind (more than 50 points) i'd go Bardsley. Otherwise Zaba.

Any point in getting a Sunderland defender in before GW34? Would you start him ahead of Azpilicueta? Sunderland are home to Everton and away to Man City in GW 34, Chelsea are away to Swansea.

      Nice..touches in the penalty area is a bit poor though...ICT threat, Touches inside the box, shots inside the box....Add those up and you have the top picks for mids..try it..well apart from set piece chaps of course.. Shots without Touches in the box is when the likes of Coutinho and Townsend lead you astray..

  I just did it. Went in the members area and did a comparison of the two, and it's night and day. Eriksen is much much better. He'll definitely start against Liverpool, no reason why not to do it this week especially considering the porous Liverpool defense. Even if Eriksen blanks, I can't see Nolan getting anything substantial at Sunderland.

Hmm, so I can get 10 doublers including Aguero, plus Suarez for a -8 by GW34, perhaps a little overkill. Especially as it involves benching Hazard.
Although my tasty looking 9 DGWers for a -4 involves benching one of Suarez, Sturridge or Hazard, as well as Koscielny home to West Ham. Maybe I'm going a little overboard here.

I could probably easily settle for 8, trouble is that one of them is Puncheon, so doesn't really count.

Well, I'm averaging 60 pts per week and I'm on for my best ever season, points-wise. Yet, I'm going to be nowhere near the top 10k.

FFS needs to appoint an analyst to assess what is going on because I have no idea who this new breed of fantasy footy player is. 😕

  There's just more players every season. This year there are 500,000 more players than last year. If only 5% of these extra players is any good at this game, then thats another 25k players competing for the places at the top.
  
  Also, points wise this season has just been very highly scoring on average for a number of reasons, the consistency and explosiveness of Suarez being an important one.
  And the durability of early bandwagons like Ramsey and Yaya another.
