FFS Paddy Power Cup IX and Members Cup IV – Fourth Round Draws

After an elongated Gameweek 31 finally came to its conclusion last night, we now roll out the draw for the Fourth Round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IX and Members Cup IV, as sponsored by Paddy Power. In the former competition, reigning champion Tdubb05 crashed out – despite registering 152 points over last week’s 15 fixtures, he was beaten by Chewy’s impressive 171 point haul:

Jonty and donnellyc were also amongst the former champions to take a tumble, leaving MCH as the only previous winner still in with a shout of the silverware – having seen off Gruffyboy last time around, he now squares up to ManofKent. Other notable community match-ups include Triggerlips v Michu Picchu and Woy of the wovers v Attila the Bum.

Special mentions go to ChamakhThat – the highest scoring manager in the previous round with 177 points – and Intransigent, who is the highest ranked manager remaining in the competition; he sits in 125th in the overall Fantasy Premier League (FPL) rankings.

A full list of last week’s results is here, and the draw for the Fourth Round, which kicks off this Saturday and lasts right through to Monday evening, when Sunderland take on West Ham at the Stadium of Light, can be found here.

In the FFS Members Cup IV, there are a number of eye-catching draws for Gameweek 32. These included In Like Flynn v Jamez8, In Tommy We Trust v meerlight, JohnTerrysDog2 v Anonymous and Stumanchuu v Arthur Gomez.

Once again, ChamakhThat’s 177 point haul was the highest score of the round. Stumanchu is the top-ranked manager left in the Member Cup hat, sitting in 485th spot overall.

You can click here to check out the Fourth Round draw, which gets underway this weekend, whilst the full list of Third Round results can be found here.

As always, good luck to all those still in with a shout of the silverware.

Having Azpil or not is irrelevant to which will get you more points. If you think it's Cahill then get Cahill. If Demi holds his spot though I can see him out scoring Cahill with the extra games.

This logic only works if we could predict the outcomes 100%, if we have three players who's predicted points over coming GW-s are similar, It would be wiser to choose two from different teams, because there could be errors in our predictions, and these errors will multiply if we chose two players from the same team.

How does Mata and Chester to Barkley and Zabaleta sound?

Could do Mata to Barkley this week and Chester to Zabaleta next, or save and do both next week.

    Or any other clever ideas?

    well hello there.

matas going to drop before the dedline which is a shame as i cant afford to lose a penny as it with scupper my plans. would have liked to keep him for avl really but hey ho.
    so:
    a. mata to nasri play chester stoke away
    b. the above AND kos to distin. play distin + coleman ful away
i will need to take a -4 at some point before wk34 so may aswell be this week no?

AJ 2 extra DGWs are good, but if I want Rooney and a United defender for GW36 I think I'll have to sacrifice him. He looks tempting but I'm not sire he's worth keeping over taking one of those options given United's GW36 and 37

Indeed. I think the decision is made. I can probably get better than him with a DGW or a nice run in or even just get any old cheapie and play 4 at the back as Liverpool play Palace away

1 home game in each which is OK. The one in WK37 is more enticing as Utd aren't exactly the team they were at the moment and do leak goals.

The wk34 one isnt great but you get 2 bites of the cherry and one of them is against his old team, something i suspect he might be up for.

In all, not great, but not totally awful either.

With the help of this DGW, I managed to cut a 70 point lead to 30 this week gents. I'd like some help planning ahead and picking differentials ahead of my rival.

    COMMON PLAYERS:

    Boruc (Davis)
    Coleman
    Hazard - Lallana - Noone
    SLS

ME: (Snodgrass - Yaya Toure) - (Cahill - Demichelis - Ward - Chester)

    HIM: (Mirallas - Mata) - (Dawson - Sagna - Fonte - Burner)

Do I look set on making up the gap with the players that I've got? Or can you lads suggest a way to spice things up

I know City / Everton have a dgw in 34 along with 2 other sh1te teams.
I'm not sure if there's a scoutcast this week

    Yaya is essential

All this talk of 4-3-3 has got me thinking...

I was set to do Nolan>Eriksen this week but now I'm tempted to do Nolan>Mutch and John>Cahill

    Adrain
    Terry Baines Zab
    Eriksen Yaya Gerrard Hazard
    Suarez Lukaku Sturridge

    Or

    Adrian
    Terry Cahill Baines Zab
    Yaya Gerrard Hazard
    Suarez Lukaku Sturridge

What do you think is better?

I could even save the FT and play the below?

      Adrian
      Terry Baines Zab Chambers
      Yaya Gerrard Hazard
      Suarez Lukaku Sturridge

Cahill - potential clean sheet & goal
      Eriksen - potential goal

Cahill shades it for me. Doing Nolan>Eriksen next week myself.

Yeah Cahill CS is probably the safer option however it would involve me taking a -4 hit to get him in.

Eriksen is really tempting me at the moment because of his form. Trying to work out whether he would outscore Cahill till the end of the season though...

Tough one. Never keen on doubling up on defence but works for some. Eriksen has potential if allowed to play and stays injury free, Would still shade it for me.

I doubled up on Chelsea defence for a few weeks and as mentioned by another member if they lose that CS it really does affect your GW score but at the same time if they keep a CS its great lol

I think I may just take a punt on Eriksen for a few GWs

            Thanks for your advice!

    Mannone (Adrian)
    Coleman, Bardsley, Cahill (Ward) (Koscielny)
    Snodgrass, Nolan, Yaya, Hazard (Noone)
    Sturridge, Lukaku, Suarez
    1 FT 0.9 in bank

    1) Koscielny -> Zabaleta (Might not even start Zabaleta this gameweek)
    2) Nolan -> Barkley
    3) Save Transfer
    4) Any other ideas?

People who used WC for last week, how many changes would you make in your team if you use WC now? Or to say in other way, how many mistakes you made?
I am not talking about last week points, but prospect in future...

    Footie fans:

    Mannone - Marshall
    Coleman - Azpil - Ward - Chambers - Chester
    Hazard - Yaya - Mata* - Nolan* - Noone
    Suarez - Sturridge - Lukaku

1 x FT and 0.4m ITB. * are the players I'd be happy to shift.

Any suggests what to do next?

        Rishi Dhawan(KXIP)
        Manvinder Bisla(KKR)
        Siddharth Kaul(DD)

            RCB batting lineup would be-

            Kohli

                I don't think there're any such sites.

But there're a few 600k bargains in game. Not totally convinced about their game time. So didn't put them in the list. If you want I can find some for you.

Well it turns out I have 0.1 spare to do Jelavic and Cazorla to Lukaku and Nasri before GW34 - seems like fate.

But then is 7 DGWers (including Puncheon) enough? Only 2 City and 2 Everton could be unwise.
    Is City defence must have?

Gerrard to Barkley/Mirallas allows a defence upgrade, like Olsson to Zabaleta which would be very tempting.
Although I would be seriously worried to be without Aguero if he's fully fit by then too.

Who are the DGW34 must haves?
I'd say Yaya and Coleman/Baines are fairly essential, and no-one else is, just build around those with a few more names in, anyone else got any thoughts?

Well I guess he's already bitten me once in this DGW, so maybe he is must have.

Its just the difficulty of fitting in SAS and Lukaku and a City striker possibly.

To Aguero or not to Aguero is the big question I feel.

Yup, they've got 21 points up for grabs, and they're only 18 points behind Chelsea

They only need Chelsea to fail to win every game, but City and Liverpool to win no more than one apiece to get the title

That bet could be lost rather quickly if Chelsea win and United fail to win this weekend.

If both win then its still mathematically possible, but United would need a 28 goal swing in GD as well

Any ways to improve this team?

    Boruc (Davis)
