The Fantasy Flutter with Paddy Power – Gameweek 35

In our weekly attempt to get the better of Paddy, we turn to three of the current top six ahead of favourable games against a trio of relegation candidates. Once again, we look to the Scout Picks for inspiration and place our faith in a couple of in-form midfielders and City’s fit-again talisman as Manuel Pellegrini’s side attempt to recover from their disappointing home draw with Sunderland.

We get underway at White Hart Lane on Saturday lunchtime, where Tottenham entertain London neighbours Fulham. Paddy are offering 6/1 on Christian Eriksen to score and Spurs to register a clean sheet. Given that the Dane has scored four times in as many matches, there’s every chance he’ll get amongst the goals against Felix Magath’s brittle backline – Spurs have been a little suspect at the back in recent matches but we’re happy to hand Paddy £3 of our kitty.

Next up, we target Liverpool’s trip to Carrow Road on Sunday afternoon as the visitors look for an eleventh successive victory. Paddy are offering 9/2 on Steven Gerrard to score and the Merseysiders to keep out their opponents. The Reds skipper has netted five times in his last four away games in a run that has seen Brendan Rodgers’ side deliver a couple of shut-outs and, with Norwich failing to score in each of their last three, we make this our favoured bet of the week and stick £4 on it.

Our final £3 is kept for Monday’s crucial clash at the Etihad. Having taken a single point from two matches in the previous Gameweek, City’s home game with West Brom is a must-win for Manuel Pellegrini’s charges. Paddy are willing to offer 9/2 on Sergio Aguero to score twice and City to keep out the Baggies. The Argentine has notched nine times in 10 home appearances this term and with City expected to attack from the first whistle to get their title bid back on track, we’re willing to part with our final £3 for this one.

mirallas not a certain starter so has to be a candidate to go. if you downgrade you can probably can get rooney for lukaku (but haven't done the sum). amalfitano has 2 games in gw37 and has been producing recently.

I played Degajah at home to Norwich instead for 1 point

Aside from that he has been a joy to own.

He's the Chelsea version of Demichelis

Everyone buys the rb for the perceived attacking threat that rarely materialises whilst the cb keeps picking up the BAPs and flying under the radar

Just out of curiosity.. how many ppl here actually watch full 90 minute games of players they wanna bring in? it can be a double edged sword tbh.. wanted nasri from a few weeks ago so decided to do my usual scouting.. and i noticed he is not involved in the attacking third AT ALL. yet he still gets points due to a random run/mistake from the opposition. i fear overanalysing is a lost art this season though.. may just get him in and enjoy his random points.
its been a pattern all season i know(yaya, gerrard).. but players like nasri dont have direct fks and penos to help them get a points tally. where do you draw the line really? this was how i used to play the game pre FFS

watching him he has looked bad enough to be dropped tbh(if not for the silva, yaya injuries).. sigh.. wish i could just get him in cause of his cheap price tag and fixtures

      Hi all,

What would you do with this lot?

      Boruc
      Coleman, Ivanovic, Fonte
      Silva, Nasri, Mata, Januzaj
      Aguero, Suarez, Lukaku

      Mannone. Barkley, Ward, Mariappa

Have already taken a -4 this week but thinking of more hits

      A) Stick with current team
      B) Barkley > Sterling & Lukaku > Rooney for -12 total

      Any advice would be great!!!

      Repost
      Current team-
      Price (whu)

Baines (MUN) - Azpi (SUN) - Demichelis (wba)

Punchy (whu) - Eriksen (FUL) - S Davis (avl) - HAZARD (OUT)

Suarez (nor) - Lukaku (MUN) - Studge (50/50)

      Bench - Stones - Olsson - (Yaya)

      So....

      a) Olsson > Williamson or Chambers

      b) what else?
