Versus – Low to Mid-Price Midfielders

With the season now just a fortnight away, we turn our attentions to a number of kindly priced midfielders in our latest article for members. Picking the right combinations in the mid-price bracket looks crucial to a strong start and with Fantasy managers debating the merits of a number of targets, we scour the statistics to assess their previous form.

For the purpose of this article, we’ve selected seven midfielders, no more than 6.5 in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, who have proven popular picks so far and/or are set for some favourable opening fixtures – potentially affording them the chance to hand us an early-season bandwagon. Comparing their respective statistics, we also dig deeper into seasons gone by in our attempt to ascertain the best options for our initial lineups.

        tbh I'm tempted to start with Hazard and Sanchez purely on the basis that it's easier to trade down than trade up.

              The choice between them is probably going to be what separates the elite ranks with the crappy ranks at the start of the season. Massive decision. I'm yet to make my mind up on it. I have Fab + Ram at the moment though.

          van Gaal has been impressed with him pre-season, looks to be the most nailed on even if we buy as van Gaal likes his ability to carry the ball out of defence. He's also a potential captaincy candidate (IRL, not FPL)

      Should be fine. Not a huge fan of Rio even at 4.5 though - fitness could be an issue and he barely even comes up for corners these days. Unless he looks good for Baps, Simpson could yet be better value.
