Mondogoal Arrives At Fantasy Football Scout

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce that we’re teaming up with Mondogoal, a new daily and weekly Fantasy Football game, for the 2014/15 season.

Mondogoal arrives as a new player on the scene, backed by two of the Premier League’s elite – Man City and Liverpool – and delivers a new experience, allowing Fantasy Managers to compete for free or for cash prizes across a range of games in any given Gameweek.

The game not only covers the Premier League; Mondogoal support both the Champions League and Europa League and run contests for all the major top flight leagues – Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Major League Soccer (MLS).

Getting involved is simple – you register an account, find a contest to join and then go about selecting your starting XI.

The basic principles will be familiar, although Mondogoal has its own scoring system which introduces new factors into play when considering your lineup. Points are awarded for completed passes, defenders benefit from interceptions gathered, while the propensity to draw and commit fouls is also key.

Each week we’ll be presenting you with our assessment of the top targets on offer ahead of each set of Premier League fixtures. Throughout the season, Mondogoal will be hosting Fantasy Football Scout contests with prize pots on offer for our visitors.

A full strategy guide, discussing the finer points of the Mondogoal scoring system and assessing how this will shape our tactics, will be published later this week.

    think you've hit the nail on the head with this one. the one that scares me most is the last point - hence considering destroying my defence to get sturridge in. Liverpool-less jitters as we near kick off.

        No telling unfortunately. A home game with a team seemingly "in form" as far as preseason can go...it could be a win by more than 2 goals. Who knows. But Southampton have had a good pre season too. Decisions decisions.

        This was what I was thinking, he can be upgraded to Henderson, if Terry is downgraded to Ward. Krul>Begovic/Speroni/Forster and Evans>Someone else too probably but I dont know as I havent done the math

        'I can't understand the Begovic love here on FFS. Most people forget that times have changed and Stoke are no longer the defensive force they once were. They kept 9 clean sheets last season, as compared to 10 by Newcastle. Krul made 102 saves, compared to Begovic's 104 so they are neck and neck basically. Both have relatively easier fixtures in the first 8, so why are people opting for the more pricier Begovic when Krul is the cost effective alternative? Are people thinking that Begovic will score higher because of his higher price? '
        
        So I don't think he is worth the 0.5 upgrade

        Requires putting Eriksen in for Henderson, but it means cutting another slice off the defence.
        
        I have also considered putting Sterling or Fabregas in over him, but that means making it even cheaper.

I like having a monster midfield as i think midfield is the way to go this year, plus i have faith in Bojan especially since stoke have such favourable fixtures

A word on Man city :

they look terribly ill prepared from fitness perspective .. The 7/8 first team players who sat out Y'day are yet to play a single min of pre-season , Its not possible to come in straight way for them and hit the ground running.

I think it stems from poor scheduling of their pre-season and no idea as to how to get players back from the 3 week break after the WC.

Arsenal had all their French players up and running and Joel Campbell . yet Sagna and Kompany who got knocked out of the World Cup at the same stage have not played a single minute . Hazard is back for Chelsea as well again as a comparison

I don't think Man City as a club has any previous xp as to how to get players match fit after a tournament like the World Cup , not sure Pellegrini as a manager does as well.. Yaya looked so off the pace and He didn't even play the knockout stages of the WC..

(Just a thought)

Does it make any sense in picking Lamela over Eriksen? Thinking because of the same price - and alot of people have Eriksen and few Lamela. Might be an advantage there if Lamela has a good season. Also a easy switch over to Eriksen if thing go wrong early.

    Davis will be allowed to surge forward more this season, due to the casualties in their squad. He is the best 5.0 option IMO and rotates decently with Hoilett if you want to do that for a 4th and 5th midfield spot.

Who should I start in GW1 out of these four regardless of position:
Siggy, El Almandi, Vlaar or B Davies

Curentely Siggy is in the line-up. Was almost planning on having El Amandi as a constant bencher but do not fancy Siggy versus a Man Utd team that look rejuvenated all pre-season so It brings El and My two benched defenders into consideration for GW1 as I can count on them two for starts if I needed in certain games

  Lamela and Jovetic are a bit risky IMO. You could always buy a budget striker e.g Bojan and then splurge on hazard or sanchez. If not I'd have eriksen before lamela as he's proven himself in the PL!

  Think I might be a little light at the back and I am struggling for City coverage. Thinking maybe Oscar/Barkley out but don't wanna lose EFC or CFC coverage either. Fancy LFC to bag a few v Southampton and Coutinho is my wildcard choice really, think he'll have a cracking season.
