I was firmly in the "stick with Mata camp" for at least the next 5 game weeks. However after last night I think Fabregas is essential. I know he didn't have a shot on target but his vision is far beyond anyone else in the Premiership imo. He's going to get so many assists, especially with corner duties, Terry/Ivanovic/Cahill in the box!

I also already have Rooney & DDG for Man U's nice next 5 fixtures.

So Mata > Fabregas is an easy move right?

I think I will also have to do BDavies > Clyne this week so would be those 2 for -4. Good transfers?

Anyone else think Fabregas may even be pushed a bit more forward in the next game?

Oscar was poor last night and JM should drop him ASAP having so much talent around in the entire team. I can see Fab getting his position then...

    -------- Costa --------
    Haz - Fab - Shurrle
    --- Matic - Mikel ---

Mikel and Matic together in the pivot is too defensive. They'll play one defensive and one attacking player. Ramires is good on the ball so him and Matic.

Why on earth would Chelsea play two defensive milfs against Leicester? Mikel is great when Chelsea are trying to park the bus but he slows down the game and disrupts Chelsea's flow whenever he touches the ball.

If Fabregas does play in the hole, it'll be Ramires partnering Matic centrally. Or I could see Oscar and Fabregas interchanging between no 10 and no 8 freely.

    Morning Gents,

Hope you're well, a fairly respectable 71 points all in all. A little advice if you would be so kind:

    Krul

    Debuchy Caulker Kelly
    Siggy (c) Rambo Mata Silva

    Dzeko Roo Costa

    Elliot Marney PVA Moore

I'm tempted to go Silva>Fab for the long haul, or would you save the transfer to try and squeeze aguero in next week?

    Thanks in advance

Tough choice, Id hold I think. I am not sure how many goals Fab has in him. As far as I could see he didn`t have one shot on goal last night, and that was against Burnley. I see him getting a fair amount of assists, and 3rd last on ball. However price rise on Fab is appealing, and he will probably do well next couple of gameweeks due to better fixtures. I just see Silva scoring more often than Fab.

Having Dzeko myself I'm afraid of his gametime when Aguero comes into fitness and form, and considering downgrading Mata myself to be able to upgrade Dzeko to Aguero gw 6 ->

    So I've already done Barton>Siggy.

Thinking one last knee-jerky move of Sanchez > Fab which gives me 1.5m in bank to convert Rooney or Costa to Aguero in future week.

Alternative is Mata > Fab but I'm holding out on that nice MU fixture list.

Or I stick and save the points.

    Thoughts?

I'm in a similar quandry (above) but the more I think about it the more I'm tempted to stay with Mata/Silva for another week. They're really not bad options. Yes is Fab carries on another week we'll need to get him in, but I'm not sure its necessary at the moment.

I'm happy with Mata for now, just thinking of cashing in on Sanchez even though I got him for the long game thinking he will possibly move up front when Walcott is back.

Also considering going crazy with a -8 and ditching Cameron for Clyne, Southampton's fixture list is awesome.

I was more sensible last year when I didn't look at stuff like TotalFPL and worry about price changes!

I was expecting more movement in the price rises/falls - there should be at least 10 changes so far. With just 1 in siggy, does this indicate they have moved the bar higher or away from ownership levels for price changes?

With respect to expected points the upcoming weeks I would say it is even between Fabregas and Mata. But now you can make some money on doing Mata --> Fabregas before Chelsea faces Leicester on the bridge, while Mata is dropping and a tough match to come. Unless it is for a hit and unless you have other issues with your team I think the move is a no brainer really.

Surely you didn't watch the Liverpool game then? 😛 Sturridge was absolutely useless, only managing to salvage his week with the worst goal of this GW from 2 metres out. Though we both assume that that's not an accurate reflection of the impact that Sturridge will have on the Liverpool team this year.

On the other hand, whilst Costa didn't have a great deal of the ball, he looked more lively than Sturridge, which suggests that it's fair to disagree with the claim that it's "clear that he will disappoint". Even if he had been entirely invisible and had done nothing, it still wouldn't be proof that the same could be said for the rest of his season, and you only need to look as far as Sturridge to see that.

On this Hazard stuff. I dont have or want Hazard.
Nothing at all to do with last night though.
    My reasoning is as follows;

    1) 10.0 is too high when Ramsey, Mata, Silva, Fabregas, Sterling (even Walcott later on) all make a decent saving

    2) Jose really criticised him after the Atletico loss last year for not working for the team. While Schurrle always does this. Come the big games, I think Schurrle and awillian might be used wide (or even Ramires) as Jose is a caution first manager.

    3) Did you see Hazard at the World Cup? Then, in the same wide left position, did you see Schurrle when he came on? Then consider this with point 2 above. Hazard is a good player but he is rather over hyped in truth.

Almost single handedly carried Chelsea at times last season. If Hazard is fit, Hazard will play. Oscar is the most likely to drop out and Willian will go to No.10 with Fab & Matic behind.

      1) 202 and 190 points the past two seasons, on penalties, playing with better striker than he did the two last seasons. He'll get plenty of goals and assists. There are a lot of reasons he costs 10.0
      2) There is no way Hazard will be sacrificed, he's Chelsea's best player with Fabregas
      3) Different team, different competition. A lot of good players were crap at the WC that doesn't mean anything at club level

Just wondering if anybody can give me an insight as to when ramires will come back who's position will be under threats? Will it be oscar and schurrle then fab will move up into the 3?
I'm a hazard owner and I'm not making any rash decisions right now as I think haz played well last night and will score well gw2. But if fab is moving into that more advanced 3, 1mill cheaper, his assisting ability and the fact he's on corners and free kicks I would have to really consider it the transfer.

    Just food for thought chaps

This is pure conjecture. I agree that Fab at no. 10 is compelling, but CHE have so many options in that position.

I wouldn't say Ramires is first-choice. The team that played last night was defenitely the strongest.

Depends on the side we are playing. Couple of options against the bigger sides
      - Ramires slides in alongside Matic with Fab & Willian alongside Hazard
      - Ramires comes in for Schurrle on the right wing (likely against City to counter Kolarov) with the rest staying the same

I have Cahill, Hazard & Costa so the only way for me to get Fab would be to lose Haz. Quite happy to wait & see, at least until after the Everton game in GW 3

Currently on this for next week:

    Hazard Ramsey Siggy Tadic
    Rooney Costa Pellè

Counting a lot on Southampton I realise, but it like their fixtures and I'm not planning on doubling up long term.

Best captain from this bunch? I'm leaning towards Hazard as a slightly puntiet option than the obvious.

The main issue is the 7th attacker being weak.
        Apart from that it's strong.

Posted this a few hours ago but would love some feedback from a different crowd. Sorry it ended up way longer than i thought.

A genuine question to Mata owners (I am one) who are advising people to hold on to him. Is this based on-
    A. Fantasy football tactics and experience ie saving transfers, jerking knees, points hits
    B. Actual analysis of how Man U played on Saturday
    C. The vain hope that if you keep saying it others wont transfer him out and might avoid a price fall and it makes you feel more justified in your decision to keep him.

I watched the whole of the Man U game. They were woeful.

    -------------------------------------de Gea-----------------------------------------
    -------------------------Blackett Smalling Jones-----------------------
    ----Young------------------- Fletcher------Herrera -------------------- Lingard
    ------------------------------------Mata----------------------------------------
    ----------------------------Hernández Rooney---------------------------

Next week Lingard maybe out? Janzai / Valencia in? Evans may be back?
Look at that team, it is not good. There will be moments of individual brilliance from Rooney, Mata and RVP but as an actual team it is poor.

During the game the defense were disorganized, not knowing who to pick up. The system of 3 center back works well when there are 2 up front for the opposition, 2 mark and one sweeps. When the opposition plays only one up front 3 at the back is a waste, it creates indecision over who has responsibility. The 3 centre backs did not get round to cover the wing backs. Herrera was bullied out the game by Shelvey! Young cant defend. There is a distinct lack of creativity in the middle and when Man U had possession they would get slowly into the Swansea half and then looked ponderous. Van Gaal has played this system all pre season but had such little confidence in it/ the players that after 45 mins he went to 4-4-2. He himself has come out and said that this team is not good enough.

Anyway this is not pure Man U bashing, really want to know about advice given on here, the A,B,C above. I have a little experience of fantasy league but have played and coached at ok levels, not sure if my ‘real’ football thoughts helps with the fantasy game?

I own Mata myself and i'll hold on to him for a a while. Man utd were terrible last year but Mata still produced consistently. I am pretty sure Man utd will perform better over the coming weeks and with their fixtures Mata will score points I'm sure.

you make good points but one game is not enough to damn a player, arsenal got hammered for losing to villa on opening day last year then went on a 20 game unbeaten streak.
I just think mata to fab far too knee jerk

"such little confidence in it/ the players that after 45 mins he went to 4-4-2"

      Totally disagree with this.

It's what Gary Neville was saying last night in the build up to the Chelsea game - that you need specialist players to play lcb in a back 3, and to play wing back

When Lingaard got injured and januzaj had to come on he was forced to abandon the 5-3-2 / 3-4-1-2 because Januzaj can't defend

re Mata, I think people assume he will come good with thier fixtures and in his best position with two top strikers to feed, but i agree they need to massively improve at the back for Mata to become a better prospect

B and C are not serious options. People are keeping/advising to keep Mata on A. If you've played this game long enough you know the worst feeling is transferring someone out only for them to post a double figure score next game. Made worse by having transferred in a one week wonder. Mata is one who can do that to you and there is no reason why he won't score well next week.

Having said that, present team form tells me that my triple up on Man U is a mistake and I'd probably be better off with a triple up on Chelsea instead, regardless of fixtures. So I'm considering Mata - Schurrle. I wanted Schurrle from the start but Mourinho used him as a super-sub last year so I steered clear.

The only thing holding me back on this now is lack of certainty of Schurrle in Mourinho's plans. He should be first choice but you never know!

      A) Knee Jerk - and considering fixtures. I agree however on the performance. ManU seemed slow and lacking creativity. I still see Mata doing well the next couple of weeks, and then you will have a better picture of players form.

Hmm finally took the step and became a member. Really fancy the RMT tool.

Anyways, I need som help i hoped some of you gents could help me out with?

    My team

    DDG
    Chester, Hutton, Azpi, (Wisdom, Bartley)
    Sanchez, ramsey, mata, siggy (albrighton)
    Rooney, Costa, Jovetic

    Should i go Sanches --> Fab/hazard, Sterling?
    Jovetic --> Who?
    Both above
    or
Upgrade Bartley to a playing defender. Then i probably need to take a hit.

    Cheers

I am trying to resist being a knee-jerker, but as all of the other 14 of my squad look set to start, I am now considering removing Ashley Young before his price drops (currently at -91%)

    So two questions:

    1) Who for? No other lower priced midfielders are screaming out to me, so I might go super budget (Wanyama) and leave that 1mil sitting in the bank for next week..

    2) What's going on with the price decreases? Do they not come into effect in the first gameweek? A number of players are on worse than -100% but nobody has reduced yet...
