The ScoutCast – Episode 134 – Starter

Gently does it. Granville and I ease ourselves into the season with another thirty-minute bite-size podcast, gradually building up our fitness before we go full tilt next month.

Yes, it’s just the pair of us again, cuddling up in our intimate studio to discuss the events of Gameweek one, whilst casting one eye on the fixtures and events to come this weekend.

We get through the usual array of regulars, with Granville explaining how a wedding and a bout of childcare threatened to ruin his campaign, just as it gets out of the blocks. We reach out to all those Siggy benchers, whilst picking the bones out United’s limp corpse following their opening day defeat. We then chat Fabregas vs Hazard, Ivanovic vs the rest (they’re going to run and run) and sing Ultimate’s praises for helping the previously unloved play their part in our Fantasy seasons.

    Purely depends on if long starts tbh. Wanyama, Schneiderlin, Tadic and Pelle fixed. so if long starts it's between JWP/Davis and that could be a 50/50

      Ince seems short term and not good enough to be the 4th mid. Hull are looking to sign a forward and that might have an effect on Ince's prospects.

  I have trained my girlfriend to actually have an interest in both fantasy football, and real life football. It was a strenuous process but wwe got through it eventually. Now I can actually discuss transfers and stuff with her, and she'll very politely pretend to be interested 🙂
  
  Need to convince her of the beauty of Fifa 14 next, but I think that might require a more Van-Gaal-esque girlfriend trainer, which is slightly above my pay range... Although I really want that update soon.

    S Davis, Saints at home to WBA definitely more chance of points than Sunderland at home to Utd, even if Utd didn't impress first game.

      Thanks. Not sure still though. Davis isnt the most regular of goalscorers, and Man United's defence didnt seem too secure. Last minute decision probably, but sticking with Davis for now

        yeah Utd's defence doesn't look the strongest but just don't fancy Fletcher to score against them either this week. Davis isn't the most regular of goalscorers but could pop up with a goal or an assist. Fancy Saints to have a good first game at home.

Liverpool request ‘good conduct’ clauses for Mario Balotelli

Having finalised a fee with the Serie A side, the Merseyside club held talks with the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, on Thursday, during which strict criteria for concluding the deal were disputed.

Reports suggest that Rodgers and the Anfield hierarchy requested a series of clause in the contract to reflect Balotelli’s professional conduct – with the Italian facing disciplinary measures if he falls out of line.

      Because he has been really bad last season. Worst Italy player in the world cup. Maybe it changes in Liverpool, but I really doubt it. Think it was a bad buy..
