Dugout Discussion

The Dugout Discussion – Burnley Vs Man United

Gameweek 3 gets underway with a lunchtime encounter between Burnley and troubled United. Having lost their first two matches, the Clarets are desperate to get points on the board and will certainly be buoyed by the current form of today’s opponents, as Louis van Gaal’s side stumble from one poor result to another.

With Angel di Maria poised to make his debut for the visitors, though, Fantasy owners of United’s attackers have a renewed sense of optimism for the Turf Moor meet. Captain Poll favourite Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Robin van Persie are all more than capable of delivering in emphatic fashion and could be set to benefit from the Argentine’s arrival.

Following this one, we have five matches to savour at 3pm before Everton host Chelsea in the evening kick-off at Goodison.

John Stones would be a great RCB in a back 3 imo.

Afternoon lads. Late to the party this week. Have Utd had and chances? Roonpig in the game? Looks to be playing a bit deep to me.

Two. Mata fell over and a great save from an RVP shot, long ball by Di Maria. Outside of that burnley have shut them down and offer something in the other direction.

Tiki-taka has ruined the game for us. We saw Barcelona decimate us in the final and we started doing passes for passes sake.

What are you talking about. LVG wasn't managing utd when Barcelona beat them in the final. LVG brings his own style of play and tactics to the club. The club don't tell him what way to play.

LVG has a philosophy, which needs time. Moyes had no philosophy so time would not have helped.

Massive difference in the context though. Now we have players learning to play a new system and struggling initially. Under Moyes we were also shite and more importantly completely aimless.

Lot of 12 year olds on here thinking they know more than LVG. Good lads.

Only positives for United at the moment:

    - De Gea has developed into a world class keepr
    - Di Maria

    The rest is pretty dire.

      Saw quote from him earlier.....

Said he wouldn't have left Liverpool for any other club.
Said he'd turned down a number of offers for other clubs over recent years.
Said his body couldn't keep up with the Premiership demands......so going home to the only other club he'd play for.

It's not all loom and gloom for United, come back down to Earth people. Herrera will be in that midfield soon enough and he's such a tidy player. Shaw will be at LWB and Rojo will take one of the CB places (atm Evans shouldn't be near a football pitch).

And hopefully we'll switch to a 4-3-3 soon...
