The Fantasy Flutter – Gameweek 5

We target a trio of players who all found the net in the previous Gameweek in our attempt to get the better of Paddy this weekend.

Our first match is at St James’ Park as out-of-sorts Newcastle prepare for the visit of Hull City. The Magpies have now conceded three times in each of their last two league matches and their porous defence looks there for the taking – having scored on his debut, we’re backing Abel Hernandez to heap further misery on Alan Pardew later today. With Paddy offering 11/1 on the Uruguayan to score two or more goals and for the Tigers to keep a clean sheet, we’re willing to throw £3 their way.

Next up we head to the King Power Stadium, as Louis van Gaal’s United attempt to maintain the momentum gained from last weekend’s win over QPR. The Red Devils have now served up a shut-out in each of their last two league fixtures, and with Paddy offering 11/2 on Angel di Maria to score and for the visitors to keep a clean sheet, we’re willing to stick another £3 on this one.

Our final bet is kept for White Hart Lane, where Spurs are set to welcome struggling West Brom. Nacer Chadli’s strike at Sunderland took his tally to three goals in as many appearances, and with Paddy willing to offer 11/2 on the Belgian to score and Tottenham to pick up a clean sheet, we’re making this our bet of the week and shelling out our final £4.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

    RMWCT:

    Heaton, Gilks

    Baines(c), PVA, Chambers, (Wisdom, Moore)

Di Maria, Siggy, Chadli, Ramsey, (Downing)

    Pelle, Costa, Aguero

I've had a bad start so I've tried to go slightly different to my rivals. Surely Fabregas can't maintain his assist mate so I went for Di Maria. Is that sensible? Is Baines captain a step too far, I seem to remember some rule about it...

I would be concerned about having Costa and Aguero this week.

I vaguely remember some rule about the captaincy of Baines.

Bring fab for Ramsey after this game, then in three weeks bring Ramsey/wallcot back for di Maria.

Clyne, for his attacking verve as well as the fact that Sunderland have been scoring well in attack this season.

Great article but City's defencive performance against Bayern impressed me. That's why I'm choosing Ade over Costa as my captain.

I know they won't park a bus at Etihad like they did in Germany but both sides will probably be happy for something like 1-1 draw.

Naismith. at home to a much weaker team. Only downside is CP don't have Chamakh so they might park the bus to save a point. But Arsenal away to a confident AV team with no striker...I would go Naismith.

Real Madrid president spent $108 million on James Rodriguez, had no idea how he played

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez shoveled out $108 million to buy James Rodriguez from French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco over the summer, and here’s what he knew about James:

    1. He had a good World Cup.

    2. NOTHING ELSE.

“I don’t know how James plays,” Perez told ESPNFC, defending his club’s off-season moves in the transfer market. “But he had a great World Cup and we wanted him here.”
