Could be a goodie. Haven`t looked at his stats or fixtures though. 5,4 is just about too expensive for my taste as a fodder, you`d want to have some kind of rotation plan with a 5th one or a cheap striker or something.

    Morono to Baines gives me;

    Forster (SUN)
Baines (AVL) / Wilson (SWA) / Bertrand (SUN)
Di Maria (wba) / Tadic (SUN) / Sterling (qpr) / Sigurdsson (stk)
Aguero (TOT) / Costa (cpl) / Welbeck (HUL)

    McCarthy / Boyd / Taylor / Moore

    Yay?

Already been rotated what, twice? In 10 games or so? Looks to me like a rotation risk. Too much so for a 10,5m player anyway, imo. Ramsey/Walcott better options i think. Walcott is Wenger`s pet as well, always plays when fit.

just because he's been "rotated" early in the season doesn't mean it will continue. he is clearly our best player in terms of talent and it will be integral that he plays as much as possible.

Idk about "clearly", but he`s probably your best. That said, he`s a pretty fragile player and Wenger just might want to not drain his stars as early as usual. Idk, for me i`d wait out the Walcott returning and see how that plays out. You better show me more than what he has before you buy the most expensive midfielder in the game.

                current team is

                Krulliot
                Baines Clyne (Duff/Hutton/Wisdom)
                Cesc Sterling Tadic Siggy (Boyd)
                Aguero Costa Welbz
                2.8m cash (feels great!)

I want Sanchez, no doubt. Do this week its either Cesc or Tadic that goes. I am loathe to ditch Tadic just as he runs into sweet fixtures, so im now leaning towards Cesc, and using the excess cash to buy a Chelsea defender (never a bad move in itself!)

everytime chelsea kept a clean sheet this season he got 2bps. incidentially, in those games they won 2-0 and 3-0 respectively, so he even outscored the attacking players...
        so it could be substantial.

he seems to come out top for tackles interceptions etc. his all action performances are good for the bonus stats.

        1. TeamSteam
          • 11 Years

He`s an exellent defender, but he`s not even close to Ivan`s point potential. That`s not even up for discussion. He is much cheaper though, so it`s not like he`s not a viable option. Given unlimited funding you`d pick Ivan every single day though.

          1. Dr. Rog
            • 14 Years
            9 years, 8 months ago

yes obviously, question is always one of value.

I suspect Azpi pts/price = Ivan pts/price, come the end of the season.

Well, if expect double digit goals/assists from Ivan. Will be surprised if Azpilicueta reaches half of Ivan`s. Also, there`s a sligh rotation risk in Azpilicueta, whereas Ivan is pretty untouchable. I know Josè favours the spaniard, but they probably didn`t shell out the millions for Luis just for show. It would take a pretty big upgrade elsewhere for me to ever consider that trade, if you will.

early days but yeah he does appear so. i refuse to believe felipe luis will stay on the bench all season though. also regarding ivanovic he has a burst every season and tricks people into paying the excess for him. he's worryingly just as prone to going card rather than attacking point crazy over 10 game spells

Yeah, but I have Lovren.... Also, I've had a look at fixtures and I have great coverage rotation wise without him. Baines has great fixtures and I want to get his price rise this coming break.

My mistake, misread it. Still, i dont think Baines is worth -4. Lovren has looked complete rubbish on all set pieces and only a threat while defending crosses. Moreno gets up, has crosses and can bang one in, as shown at the lane. I guess we`ll have to agree to disagree then.

    Hi 😛

    DDG/Gilks
    Cahill/Dummet/Chester/Duff/Clyne
    Downing/ADM/Sterling/Siggy/Marney
    Costa/Pelle/Aguero

What's more of a priority for me this GW?

    A) Chester to Chambers/PVA/Naylor etc. (Tough fixtures coming up for Hull)
    B) Cahill to Baines (Baines has good fixtures, great attacking threat)
    C) DDG to Bego/Forster/Fabianski etc. (Tough fixtures for United, They can't keep a CS)

Another idea is DDG + Chester ----> 4.5 + Baines. For a hit.

Also thinking of using my WC. Thoughts?

I considered that but i think it's either Baines or no one from that Everton defence. It's easy to be lured in by their fixtures but the truth is they haven't been defending well at all lately. The appeal of Baines is his massive attacking potential, don't be fooled by Jagielka's wonder goal, he won't do that every week. 😉

Don't think he will. Pellegrini only played Demi in the CL because Roma didn't have an out-and-out striker. I think Mangala will be safe in the league.

Its risky, but I'm gonna get Baines for Lovren, albeit slightly reluctantly. I don't want to miss out on his price rise and he could become essential. Taking a hit on it tomorrow if Baines doesn't get injured. He won't rise tonight.

Baines has already shown that he'll score plenty of points even without a CS.

Any assist/goal/CS will almost always result in BPS points too due to his high involvement in attack and defense.

  26. rickardinho

I just did Ulloa > Welbeck.

Feels good, even if I end up taking a hit on Lovren>Baines. Ulloa just blanked against Palace and was subbed early against Burnley, and if he can't score against those two then its time to get rid. Makes a lot of sense TV-wise as well which is a massive factor.

      • 13 Years

Can't argue with that really, nearly did the same but also had Naismith so decided to drop him instead. Only thing I would say is Ulloa still has a great run of fixtures ahead. I'm hoping he gets back on track

      1. rickardinho

Yeah thats true, but I have money to spend and Welbeck will keep rising even if he doesn't score. He's the main Arsenal striker now though so he's bound to score plenty though.

its always safest to stick with the points. 7 points isn't bad.

That said, if Costa scores 1 and assists another in a relatitvely low-scoring game then you're looking at 9 pts plus 3 bps, for a cool 24. 🙂

    Wild card time!

Which one of these should NOT be in my team:

    A. Kun
    B. Pelle
    C. Welbeck

    Taking price into consideration...

    1. Nabs Kebabs

      pelle imo.

    2. President John F. Keninnsie

I really can't decide... Pelle gets so many chances and with his fixtures he's bound to score in the coming weeks. Kun is close to essential when fit IMO, but is he worth 5m over Welbeck? I'm not so sure.

I think both Pelle and Welbeck represent far better value than Kun, even if it means hiding behind the bookshelf whenever Aguero plays. 5.0 is alot - for that you can upgrade your 4.5 defender to Baines, and a 6.5 mid to Silva or Sterling...

All signs pointing to getting Mangala.

Unfortunate owner of Coleman here... Not even played the last 2 games. Might finally twist after the next GW if he's a no-show or Martinez continues to look clueless about how to plug the EVE defence.

you shouldn't be considering him for FPL. Kompany, Mangala, and at a stretch Kolarov should be the only ones you consider.
