    Forster ( 4.0 )
    Ivan - Dier - Clyne ( Wisdom / Chambers )
    Sterling - Downing - Fab - ADM ( Siggy)
    Welb - Pelle - Costa

I don't know who to get rid of to fit Aguero in

@TFF in response to page 26:

I got 21pts from Siggy(10), Begovic(1), Lovren(2), Taylor(1), Ulloa(2), and Sterling (5). Really disappointing as I felt like there was more in those fixtures for these players. Especially disappointed by Lovren not getting a CS+bps due to a shocking refereeing error.

On the bright side though, I did finish just above average and actually rose 14k places in the OR. I have Costa(c), Pelle, Downing, Fabregas, and Clyne to play tomorrow. I need some big hauls from Pelle and Downing especially, and would be satisfied if Costa could at least match Aguero's 7pts tally.

I read that you got 17 from 4, which seems to be slightly better than the average (which is 18 from 5 iirc), so you're probably set up to do quite well.

Btw, I transferred Ulloa>Welbeck earlier before the rise. Ulloa blanked against Palace and got subbed off early against Burnley, so it made sense to sell him and pocket his 0.2 price increase. I'm happy to take the risk of Welbeck getting injured too. It looks like I'll be taking a hit on Baines though, but I figure he'll rise 0.2-0.3 this GW to make it worthwhile.

No need to take a hit on baines this week, get him for free in the next...

I really like the Ulloa to Welbeck move, now hope that he doesn't get injured!

Yeah it seems a bit silly to do Lovren>Baines for a hit, especially with Lovren playing QPR next, but I'm convinced that Baines will rise 0.3, and I really don't feel like buying him at 7.3 when a -4 hit could have secured him. He could very well outscore Lovren too with a home game against Villa.

At least fplstatistics have become reliable with the price rises so I can monitor Baines' situation closely though 🙂

Price movements aren't that rapid this season, I think he'll rise by 0.1 max. Fplstatistics is getting very close with the risers! Lets hope we can get some word on the fallers too

You were unlucky with Lovren, that wasn't a penalty. Great work in the OR though, here's to hoping that you climb today as well.

By the way, coming to your point about the Swansea-Newcastle match yesterday, I watched the entire game yesterday and Swansea were unlucky to not come away with a clean sheet. They dominated the match for long periods with Newcastle posing little to no threat at all, but after that freakish Cisse goal, they looked shaky and could have conceded one more probably.

I would still hold on to Naylor though, he is a decent pick at that price.

      1. rickardinho
        • 9 Years
        9 years, 8 months ago

Thanks. That's the conclusion I've come to about Naylor as well. I studied the fixtures closely too and realized that the benefit I would gain from having Lovren in the next 6 GW's was very marginal compared to having my other defenders cover those GW's instead:

        Lovren: ............................qpr cpl STO
        Wisdom/Taylor/Chambers: CPL MUN CPL

Lovren's price is on a downward spiral too, whilst Naylor will probably rise again soon, which made it an easier decision still.

That said my move to Baines would be for a hit, but as I said above its a move I'm happy to make, if only for the TV.

I wouldn't personally make that move now. Get him in next week, I'm one from the old school (never take a hit for a defender!).

After yesterday's result, I'm actually torn between picking one of Bego/Fabianski next week. Both are up against each other, and I get the horrible feeling that I'll end up benching the wrong one!

            • 9 Years

I'd go with the one playing at home. I'm actually planning on benching Siggy and Naylor and having Begovic in goal. Stoke have always been solid at home, and were 4th best defensively at home in the entire league last season (GC and CS's iirc). No brainer for you to play Begovic imo.

I usually do the same, when in doubt play the home player. I'm currently on Bego too, but I have to factor in a couple of things here:

              - Shelvey will miss the Stoke fixture, which will perhaps make Swansea less solid at the back?
-Diouf is injured, Moses got injured too. Perhaps less offensive threat from Stoke?

              Maybe, I'm overthinking this!

I think you're over-thinking it. Stoke will be solid because they are Stoke, at home, in the cold rain, in October. Simple.

Despite being a Bego owner, I actually think their defense is over rated. They are no where near as solid as they were in the Pulis days and people make them out to be

I agree. But they are the closest thing to a CS among the non-top 3-4 teams beyond Southampton at the moment.

I really like the fact that the usually boring defensive teams like Palace, Hull, and West Ham are now playing more attacking football. It makes the league more entertaining. They definitely spiced up MNF two weeks ago for example... who would have guessed that Hull-West Ham would be a MNF thriller!?? 🙂

Yep, agree 100% , Stoke-Newcastle wasn't that bad the other day too as it would have been under Pulis.

Btw, I felt for you when Burnley scored today, especially that stupid freekick that Schmeichel failed on massively. Must be annoying that you had Clyne benched, but fwiw I still think it was the right decision.

As I think I said a couple of days ago though Wisdom was a better option than Moore though, but I guess Moore rotates better! 🙂

haha, you know what - one of my H2H opponents actually has Jutkiewicz in his team. I laughed at it as soon as I saw his team, because he had 6 straight 90-minute 2-pointers before today, but then he popped up with an assist...

Not only that but both my H2H's have Henderson in their team, and so I'm now losing to a dead team by 9 points 🙁

You'll be okay with the players you have got! You should be a relieved man that Jutkiewicz came up with only an assist with those stats, could have easily been a double figure haul 😉

Haha yeah looking at the stats and highlights the damage could have been far worse. Still, its funny how these underdogs always perform in the specific week you play against someone who has them in their team!

Last week I got outdone by Puncheon of all people!

I agree, my h2h rival (dead team) had Dzeko of all people yesterday and he could have easily scored twice. I am a relieved man! Now I'm worried about Januzaj, he might start today you know because of the Rooney suspension and the Herrera injury. I'll feel robbed if he does something today

Baines won't rise much, if at all....unless he goes batshit crazy in the morning. During intnl breaks the prices hardly budge because people are waiting for them to end and check injuries. I monitored last break on a WC and didn't make more than .2 million picking up "hot" pickups. It was very much a let down:

Everyone, share you fondest FPL memory to date.

    I'll start.

December, 2012, when Walcott scored 26 points against Newcastle. I was trailing my ML leader by 50 points going into the game, he didn't have any arsenal players. I brought in Walcott that week because of the news that Walcott would be playing striker. When all was said and done, Walcott (C) scored 52 points, which gave me the lead in my ML.

As frustrating as this game can be at times, I'll always remember moments like this one when you just get it so thoroughly and completely right.

This is my 2nd season but nothing special this season yet. Last season captaining Yaya in DGW and bringing Hazard for Oscar just before Newcastle hatty was some of my best moves. 🙂

This is my first FPL season, so mine isn't very emphatic, but memorable nonetheless.

I had scored a poor 35 points from 9 last weekend with only Wisdom and Begovic to play. I was trailing my 2nd H2H by 13 points so I was basically a goner. Until WBA kept a CS in the only Sunday fixture, and then Begovic did the same on MNF. I thought I had lost my H2H by 1 measly little point (for the 3rd time this season already), but then Begovic somehow got 1 bonus point for his heroic 1 save CS to tie my H2H 😀

Nothing too crazy - though there was one nice one last season. I was away in Africa in December last year and I couldn't change my team at all for that period. Fortunately, I had the one and only Mr. Suarez captained for his mega streak 😀 Although I know most people would have captained him during that period, I'd wager that less captained him for his mega haul (24 pts I believe) away at Tottenham 🙂 I had my highest scoring week last season (besides that ridiculous DGW) having not been able to change my team for 2 weeks 😛

Shipping in at the perfect timing for Walcott, Bale and Cazorla to score their hat-tricks consecutively towards the Christmas period in 2012/13.

Probably last year and a Sunday game with WHU away to Spurs. Shaw for Soton was confirmed out and was due to miss out on a probably cleanie for his fixture as a result. Had Winston Reid as first sub and thought a probable 1 point. Reid scored in a 3-0 away win at White Hart Lane to come off my bench with 15 points. Was such a joy waiting for that Minday evening automatic sub. . . 😀

Without doubt it was captaining Dempsey for his hattrick vs Newcastle in 2011/2012. Not only because of the 40 points but also because, that same week, Mancini inexplicably chose to rest both Aguero and Silva who were the most popular (c) and (vc) by some distance. That GW completely turned my season around and put me on course to win my mini league and a top 6k finish.

I must admit, I went nuts.

Cheers, figured it was something like that.

The annoying thing is that the 1st team is actually a dead team, and has Rooney(c) with Costa(vc), with Vlaar 1st sub but Kaboul 2nd sub. Such a mess but his team has done reasonably well considering, especially this GW. Both the teams had Kolarov this GW too which was really frustrating.

Absolutely hate that when it happens with dead teams. 🙁

Haha I appreciate the positive attitude. I totally agree, Kolarov easily could have score once or even twice yesterday. One team even had Silva, so I was biting my nails for a long time there. Would have settled for the 1-0 scoreline but Aguero had to go and ruin it!

In general though H2H is such a random format. Last week I drew 48-48 against the team that had the 2nd highest score in one h2h league, and the week before that i had the 3rd highest score but lost against the highest score out of 22 teams.

I can take pride in having the highest overall score in my h2h league, but its not fun being 5 points behind in 3rd place when the 1st place team has 30 points less!

It's involves an element of luck, but I prefer it over classic leagues because in my scenario, 90% of my friends are casuals, who only change their team once a month or twice,at best. Hence, h2h leagues keep them interested rather than the classic ones where they lose any interest if they fall behind the rest

I think the argument is for Chadli AND Siggy, rather than an alternative.

A good reason would be to beef up elsewhere.
With Chadli, I could afford this:

        Krulliot
        Baines Ivan Clyne (Wisdom Hutton)
        Alexis Sterling Siggy Chadli (Boyd)
        Augero Costa Welbz

GW9-12 is when to have him. I brought Downing in instead of him as he has much better fixtures in the next 2.

Chadli basically plays as a striker for Spurs though, and who wouldn't want a Top 6 nailed-on striker for 6.3 in their team?

Think it'll be 2-1 for United though. They've been ok at home recently, should benefit from Rooney being out and Mata in, and Everton had the trip to siberia to recover from.

Ulloa has the 5th highest negative-NTI on Fiso... so glad that he rose the essential 0.1 yesterday so I could get rid of him at 0.2 profit!

So far my entire season has revolved around my third striker spot and in turn the stupidity of captaining them/him...

Can't wait for a decisive third spot season keeper.

      Sturridge. Aguero. Costa

      Very soon.....

    Should I do:
    Chadli + Dier ---> boyd + baines fot (-4)?

My other option is to get rid of siggy and/or moreno.

    Please advise. Thanks

Why loose Chadli, why lose Siggy? Loose Moreno and Dier

I dont think i will have enough fund fpr baines if i dont sacrifice one of my mids. I have 0.7 itb,
Moreno, dier, bert, wilson, duff, siggy, sterling, chadli, fab, adm. Now whic two i should sell?

Planning to lose Duff, Hazard and Tadic(depending on performance) this week, what are possible options for coming weeks?
Thinking Duff to Bertrand, Hazard to Sanchez/Sterling and Tadic to Henderson/Chadli/McGeady

    Current front 7 of

Di Maria Hazard Stirling siggy (boyd)

    Costa Dzeko pelle.

My lack of Arsenal with their upcoming fixtures worries me so was thinking dzeko and Hazard > Welbeck and Silva.

    Any thoughts please lads. Thanks.
