The ScoutCast – Episode 141 – Dither

Flabbergasted by my reluctance to tinker and the decision to throw away my Gameweek 9 transfer, Granville can’t wait to get stuck into me in the ScoutCast studio.

My co-host roughs me up over my cowardice, then slaps me around for the fact that I appeared to hoodwink the entire world over Diego Costa’s fitness. We then go on to appraise the merits of Ed Sheeran, check in on Neil Warnock’s latest gripes and weigh up the Sterling vs Sanchez vs Hazard debate. Meanwhile, Kieran Trippier’s cross count without an assist for Granville hits 66 and counting. Who’s dithering now, eh Granville?

Dilly-dally over this episode via this link or dawdle in its direction via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I really need Haz to fail and Sterling to shine. Have gone against my prior intentions of doing Sterling to Haz on a -4 and now my mate and rival is bringing him in. Reckon Haz can be relatively ineffective...??

    Worth it to do:

    Sterling + Clyne -> Sanchez + Wisdom , -4pts

I don't fancy big returns from Sterling next few GW's, and Sanchez is in form. Would like to keep CLyne for 3 GW's more, so a bit premature that?

I often feel that playing a player like that doesn't really work. On and off. You need to play them for a long period of time and I don't remember a time where he's played full consecutive games.

True, it's been a while since he got a decent run of games 🙂 It probably depends on the player, for example Walcott played in a centre forward position a while back and he did very well there.

Sterling Cattermole Taylor --------> Hazard, Obertan Dummett for -4?

Well you've got two double digit priced strikers so gotta cut back somewhere. Berahino looks a monumental upgrade over Naismith from where I'm sitting. Just make that one transfer and float the other and you can still figure out what to do with Sterling in front of their Chelsea game.

Yeah I'd probably rather just sit tight with Sakho and hope he plays although I do think Welbeck will get something out of this Burnley game. I think it is folly, though, if your rationale is to keep money freed up for Siggy to Wally. Wally may not be ready for us for another 3ish gameweeks.

Can anyone recommend any transfer for this lot? I've two FTs and £2.1m in the bank.

    Foster (Krul)
    Baines, Chambers, Bertrand, (Naylor), (Wisdom)
    Fabregas, ADM, Siggy, Sterling, (Marney)
    Diego Costa, Welbeck, Pelle

Marney has been a problem for a while.. Thinking maybe -> Boyd, but it's a very boring transfer tbf

          • 11 Years
          9 years, 7 months ago

Boring maybe. But it's the long game you want.
I'd do Welbz to Sakho, but only next week, so instead of losing a transfer...

The likes of Sterling/Siggy deserve at least 1 more week. Then maybe you can bring in Wally and Sakho 😉

Funnily enough Siggy, Sterling and Welbeck are the players that I'm monitoring this weekend. I'm pretty sure that I want Tadic and both Berahino and Sakho are great options imo.

              I'm not surprised!
I'm personally keeping for now, but Wally and Sakho is who I'd go for.
Wally depending on how his minutes come along in the next 2.

Make the sensible change this week and monitor for next weeks 2+ changes.

Walcott is capable of great things on his day, it's pretty tempting to bring him in before the bandwagon inevitably gets to him!

Depends for who. Sterling out for Hazard or Alexis if not for a hit I think is a good trade...can always go back if Sterling starts firing once Sturridge is back in. Siggy I still think is worth holding unless you are upgrading him to a premium mid.

He might be eased back into rotation with limited minutes and first. Best to wait for now.

yeah, last year he took a bit to get going, but the year before (i think) he came back and blitzed it straight away, i remember taking a punt and it paying off then. people are too conservative sometimes, waiting for some form, then chasing the points when it's too late. personally i think it's maybe worth a risk this week as i don't expect much from sterling.

It is completely mental to trade out Sterling for anyone, I don't care what their name is, who is at best case scenario going to play 20 minutes off the bench.

I don't think people are waiting for him to find form so to speak. More for Wenger to be confident in letting us know that he's ready to start, given he's been out so long.

Koeman - "Mane will train this afternoon and tomorrow morning: “If he’s okay, he can be part of the squad for Saturday.”

I know the term 'fixture proof' is sometimes ignore, but I'd say ADM is exactly this.

Pelle's 4 yellow cards is a annoying as he's another I'd not get rid of - regardless.

He's not a proven FPL pick against better sides, blanked against West Ham and Chelsea, his returns have been against the weaker sides.

And before anyone uses the CL final as an example, ADM would have scored 2 points if it was an FPL game.

I'm on a roll in LAWR. Squeaked a lucky victory last week.
