PlayON Picks – Gameweek 11- FREE ENTRY £500 POT

Our Friday regular arrives a little later than usual today, as we analyse the PlayON player price list ahead of tomorrow’s 10.45am deadline. Below we offer a couple of picks per position: one essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

PlayON is this week re-introducing tackles, interceptions and clearances to its scoring matrix. It is also reducing the points for clean sheets to 3 per minute played so more weight is put on individual player performance rather than team performance – view the revised scoring matrix here

PlayON is also running a Free Entry, £500 Winner Takes All game this week – which you can enter here.

Goalkeeper – Ben Foster
The stopper looks crucial to West Brom’s chances at home to a Newcastle side that have won their last four in all competitions. Having kept a clean sheet away to Leicester last week, Foster will be looking to defy the in-form Magpies and deliver a fifth clean sheet of the campaign – available for only 6.1m, the Baggies number one, who was the highest scoring keeper in PlayON last weekend, looks an excellent budget enabler. West Ham’s Adrian (6.9m) is another cut-price contender to consider. Granted, the Hammers have been far from convincing at the back and managed a single shut-out this season but bearing in mind visitors Villa have scored once in the last six and are missing the suspended Christian Benteke, Big Sam’s side could be in line to deliver the defensive returns.

Defender – Gael Clichy
The Frenchman is set to continue at left-back for City after Aleksandar Kolarov was ruled out for at least a month with a calf complaint. After starting the last three, Clichy bagged the assist for last week’s winner against Man Utd and, at a price of just 7.5m, he represents a cheap route into the champions defence for their trip to QPR. Having conceded just five times this term, and only once at home, Southampton’s defence is on the radar as Leicester roll up to St Mary’s. Whilst Toby Alderweireld doesn’t offer the attacking threat of his defensive team-mates, at a mere 6.8m he looks excellent value against a Foxes side that have failed to score in the last three.

Midfielder – Nacer Chadli
We call upon the Tottenham midfielder for the second time in three Gameweeks due to his very reasonable price tag. Chadli netted his fifth league goal of the season last weekend, yet whilst team-mates Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela are priced at 10.8m apiece, the Belgian sets you back just 9.0m at home to a Stoke side that have shipped six in the last three on their travels. For this week’s essential midfield pick, we return to Southampton. Dusan Tadic (10.2m) has produced a goal and six assists in five home appearances for Ronald Koeman’s side and the Serbian will fancy his chances against a Leicester side with a single clean sheet all season.

Forward – Diafra Sakho
After missing last week’s draw against Stoke with a shoulder problem, the West Ham forward looks set to return in time for a very favourable home encounter against Aston Villa. Sakho has scored seven times in eight appearances since arriving at Upton Park and, at a lowly 8.0m in PlayON this week, looks an absolute steal against a defence that’s conceded at least twice in each of their last six. Sakho’s acquisition also helps to enable this week’s essential striker, Sergio Aguero. At 15.0m, the City forward may be the most expensive player in the game but up against a QPR side that has conceded more goals than any other in the Premier League, it’s difficult to see him not bringing home the points.

    Fabregas ---> Downing this week

Frees up cash to do Pelle ---> Aguero next GW?

Thinking about possible suspensions to Pelle/Fabregas & holding Siggy/Sterling for better fixtures in a few weeks.

A yellow to fab may force my hand nicely. Will have 2 FT to use

Any ideas on when the yellow cards reset?

surely you'd be as well waiting until next week to move Fabregas out, then at least you'll know whether or not he's gotten booked

I'm decided on my team. Although not of my captain...

    Foster (krul)
    Baines - clyne - wisdom
    Chadli - hazard - fab - siggy
    Aguero - Costa - pelle

    Bench doesn't matter

    Captain

    A) Aguero
    B) Pelle
    C) Costa

    Thanks for the help guys

Any changes needed to this lot?

    Begovic;
    Baines, Clyne, Chambers;
    Sánchez, Di María(vc), Tadic, Sigurdsson;
    Diego Costa, Agüero(c), Berahino.

    Hamer; Wisdom, Hutton, Albrighton.

    1FT; £0.0m in the bank.

    Thanks.

ADM is a very popular option right now but personally i'd stick.

      1) Siggy has the most boner-inspiring run of fixtures from GW13
      2) Hazard is also in for some great games and in a far better team

I'd give them another week with 2FTs prepped for next GW.

Four Reasons not to captain Aguero this weekend:

    1) No Silva to provide service. Nasri, Yaya, Dzeko etc. are off form. Now Kompany is out too so Man City might not be so solid in general.

    2) Man City played in Europe this week and nearly every team has to manage a European hangover, it's always an issue.

    3) Man City are away from home.

4)Man City's form in general is poor. They've lost to Newcastle, West Ham and CSKA, drawn with CSKA and scraped a 1-0 win at home to a 10-man poorer still Man Utd. Man City are in a slump!

I'm holding Aguero (he's class after all) but captain this week? Not me!

Sell Sterling now is not worth it anymore since his price has fallen twice. Better to keep him for now and hope he's doing smthg good to get his price increased 🙂

i always prefer to play MF to DEF. Sterling was also rested on Pool's last Champions match. Leicester has suffered 4 lost from their last 5 games. So wisdom is not bad choice anyway. Up to you, man 🙂

Would you accept this trade if you had A?

    B) Ramsey Gerrard Cabella

Stay away from Ramsey until he finds his form again...he has been terrible all season and coming off an injury. If I watch him give the ball away in the MF and spark an opponents counter attack again I'm going to smash my tv.

      1. rickardinho
        • 9 Years
        9 years, 7 months ago

Haha, I have B, but have offered this trade 😛

Feels fair given Sturridge's injury history and Oscar's rotation risk, compared to the fact that Ramsey and Gerrard are nailed on. Giving up an attacking mid like Cabella for a 2nd keeper is also a hefty downgrade.

    A) Welbeck and Milner for Sakho and Fellaini
    B) Milner for Fellaini
    C) Milner for Downing
    D) Do nothing and save my 2 free transfers until after international break.

I always feel that if I have 2 free transfers I should take advantage of it, and not use just the one transfer.

Anyone else got the pleasure of a five-man captain choice?

Alexis, Di Maria, Aguero, Pelle and Costa

Obviously enjoying the luxury of owning those five, but a complete headache in regards to which one of them to chuck the armband on.

Alexis (C), Aguero (VC) for now.

Guys I need your help on this one. I'm leading my group by 40 pts. I already took a -4 this week for Sakho and Cesc. I really want to make this move; however I also understand that it may not be logical

    Siggy > Mane

I probably wouldn't take an 8 point hit. That's a bit too much in my opinion. Siggy might do something against Arsenal's defence too...

I agree. He is the type of player to show up for games against big opponents. Besides the Gunners defense is struggling and will be struggling until Wenger stops being stingy and splashes the cash on a top Defender like Subotic or whom ever

Think you know what to do then; Keep Siggy!

            How about

            Chadli > Mane

Chadli bagged a very lucky goal last week. I see his form cooling off quickly. Tottenham have been my personal biggest dissappointment thus far.

Its a tough one but for the long run I would. I see Mane as a great choice. Not sure a -4 is good or that now is the right time to do it

right time to weigh this up Kun v ADM for (c)

    Kun
    Pros

    Best striker in the league
    Pens
    Form

    Cons
    City hot and cold
QPR much improved, especially at home
Only 4 double digit hauls away in 4 years

    ADM

    Pros

    Good fixture
    Great Player
    Set Pieces
    I'm at the game

    Cons
    3 straight blanks
    Out of form strikers
    No pens
    Only gets points on Sunday

    who would you go for?

ADM is a flat track bully at home to Palace with the Jedi-knackered ADM for me.

    Please choose: I have 2FT

    A) Sterling, Sigurdsson and Alzaraz OUT Sanchez, Dummet and Boyd IN and play this gameweek with four defenders, and next week sell Pelle for Sahko and Marney for a 6.5 mid

    B) Sterling and Pelle OUT Sanchez and Sahko IN

    Thanks

Neither. You need siggy long term and Pelle this week. I was considering B myself but opted to do Sterling to downing this week instead of burning a transfer

Agreed, just taking out Sterling should be enough.
