Last 3 Games I owned Cahill.

    2

2 games after I got rid of him:

    9 (Scores goal)

    Why Cahill, why.

Ah, good question. Many people excommunicated him because they were Baineless at the time. It was easiest swap at the given moment & Baines was firing on all cylinders with form to boot.
No one could predict Cahill rebounding a JT header & scoring.

It wasn't your fault, I'd be curious as to why one would have kept him until now

I had him since GW 1. I downgraded him to fund for Sanchez. ( I already had Baines)

            Great reason 😉

I've got Chelski, Baines and Sanchez. 😎

Now, obviously 🙂 I'm talking about a month ago

At the current time they weren't though, it was completely out-of-fashion to keep their defensive assets at the time. Many opted for Baines instead 😉

With so much uncertainty in the midfield, & lack of any good budget options
(i.e Chadli & Downing injured) Perhaps it'd be wise to keep my current investment of
Hazard, AdM, Alexis, Siggy at the expense of getting Costa.

With Bony showing some form again, & the Swans fixtures easing the blow, could he be the replacement for Pelle?

Bony is a good replacement. However, does Pelle actually need to be replaced? That is the question imo. I'm not to sure..

        I'd say so.

No shots on target in last 3 against shite teams. He relies on plenty of chances to score - which he won't get vs the big teams.

If he bags a brace (which I'm hoping) this'll skew my transfers a bit 😉
Bony could very well be better value short term than Costa or even Rooney

I've turned $30 into $160 in the last couple of seasons just doing occasional small bets here and there. Will get another $85 if Stoke finish as the highest Midlands club.

Nice. I usually do a solid bet like City to beat Utd a few weeks back (money back if it was a draw) They usually work out. Then I have a cheap punt or two for big money. They dont work out that often but so long as Im still in the green Im alright. And who knows maybe one day the punty one will pay off and I'll get some serious cash

Lol Actually I inquired at Paddy Power yesterday if they would take a bet on Newcastle to score post 60mins. They said they dont do that kind of bet. Sissokho then pops up in the 78th minute. 🙁

Yeah, I only really bet on things I'm nearly certain of. A few over 2.5 in Utd games etc. Oh and the $50 I put on Chelsea to beat Liverpool at 2.3 (I mean 43% chance of them winning that? Puhlease)

Which is why I put the bet on Stoke being the top midlands club. With Villa, WBA and Leicester for competition it seemed pretty likely.

yeah I had a use it or lose it $20 free bet so I put it on Aguero to score anytime against United. Free money lol

Nice bet that Kolarov one. I had a free bet this week too that expired tuesday so I put it on Austin to score cos I got sakho in this week instead of him 😆

Hi guys help me out here. Di Maria for -4 or Sanchez for -8? My plan is to get Walcott when he starts playing regularly. So these transfers are just for the next 2-3 weeks. Here's my team:

    Forster
    Chambers Baines Coleman Wisdom Dummett
    Tadic Downing Siggy Haz Boyd
    Costa Aguero Pelle.

Tadic and Coleman are going. And for me to get Sanchez, Pelle has to go too. Any suggestions?

Southampton won't crumble so easily. Expect them to get results against some of the top clubs.

I'll be confidently playing Clyne against City next week.

I don't see why you'd want to keep Clyne.

Yes, Southampton ,ay score goals against these weak defences. However, there is next to no CS potential. Clyne > Cresswell, for me.

                I've considered that the most.

I've already got Sakho. So, is an investment in their defence, too, advisable? Do they look good at the back?

Now if I said Sakho plays for West Ham and Caulker QPR so you wouldn't be doubling up I hope you wouldn't find it offensive. QPR defence aint great so far but fixtures are good and Caulker does have a goal threat so maybe

No, I know that. I'm referring to Cresswell - as he was part of option B). My rotation initially included Caulker's next 4 home games.

If I don't do it this week:

        A) Stuck with a bad defence this week
        B) Miss out on Caulker's tasty fixture
        C) Could be priced out of it

I think it's worth it taking a hit to fix up until January.

Since I am feeling charitable, I will advise you to bring in Rio Ferdinand. Proven performer at a bargain price and coming back from suspension, he will be a differential as people may wait to bring him back into their team.

I'm saying - PPU is contributing to the site by posting regularly. He's getting involved. You aren't.

Pretty sure calling for a ban is against the rules.

As you know, it's not the only rule you've broken tonight. Unlike you, I am dealing with this is the proper way by reporting you rather than writing ban on here (against the rules).

                    Enjoy your upcoming ban mate.

With Aguero and Costa and Granny Shagger up front theirs a lot of hope pinned on ur 3 remaining mids.

So, the top teams get into the busy period from now to year end. It's time to fix the team and get 15 playing players. Just read Chelsea fixtures and saw something like this. Quite packed as usual.

    25-11 Schalke (A)
    29-11 Sunderland (A)
    03-12 Spurs (H)
    06-12 Newcastle (A)
    10-12 Sporting (H)
    13-12 Hull (H)
    16-12 Derby (A) .. Capital Cup

    22-12 Stoke (A)
    26-12 West Ham (H)
    28-12 Southampton (A)
    01-01 Spurs (A)

    10-01 Newcastle (H)

Was just looking at my Foster/Krul rotation so far this season. Not quite as productive as I'd hoped, but still has shown promise if only I could choose the right one more often...

    Foster/Myhill: 41
    Krul/Elliot: 46
my rotation: 47 (wooo a whole 1 extra point!)
right one every week: 57 (top of the GK standings)

One point maybe not worth .5 mill so far, but it sure is more fun to have two goalies to rotate and root for different ones each week in my opinion 🙂

I think it's just a far safer way of operating. If one of the teams you picks turns out to be a Stoke or Leicester then you can simply play the other for a while. Like those that went with Begovic are absolutely hating him as he's crap and they've got no alternative.

But yeah, Krulliot is winning right now on value. I just like to have long-term rotation between the sticks.

I agree with you. I somehow convinced myself that plumping an extra million for Courtois and starting him week in week out would be best. How I rue that day...I miss the rotating little guys. Can't wait till January to fix it!

Never spend more than 9m on keepers. Expensive keepers are never worth it as the few extra CSs they get are just offset by having to make next to no saves as their defence is better.

Foster was a revelation with his 11 a couple of weeks ago when I brought him in to rotate with Heaton. But it only took me one week to screw up the rotation. A big, fat 9 on the bench from Heaton the next week.

Will not opt for rotation again.

        • 12 Years

I disagree. Yes, you'll have the occasional benched haul, but then there are the numerous times that having that 2nd keeper has got you extra points. All about the long haul.

They're returning from injury and, I assume, will be available. Reputation refers to their status. Bigger-name players compared to McNair. Although it's a crappy reason, I think that could be the case. McNair dropping to the bench.

Depends on your other players and how you play/rotate them. Yun in isolation though.

        Don't worry about rotation.

Hutton has worse fixtures but a better defensive club when looking at him versus Yun. I think it would have to be looked at closer with your entire defensive rotation and which weeks you would need this player to start.

Huh. I think Hutton has the best fixtures by far. I'm not so much concerned with home and away though. Villa very capable on the road than QPR though, which should be taken into account.

this and QPR hardly have good fixtures(they are the good fixture)

They have Leicester, Palace, West Brom, and Burnley at home from now until January. If those aren't good fixtures I don't know what are.

They have plum home fixtures from now until January, and they're solid at home. Away is an entirely different matter, I agree.

Well it would be madness to start either of these two week in week out so that has to play a part in the decision. Villa have only 2 home fixtures where they can get a clean sheet from now until January. While they have several away ones where they could do I always put less faith in away clean sheet potential when looking at lesser clubs like these personally.

Maybe but then you also have to consider what the money is doing elsewhere. Considering how poorly defenses are going ATM I think uber is the way to go. Put the money further forward.

Uber certainly can work out but that doesn't require starting a Hutton or Yun every week....

but away CS don’t count? They got CSs at Stoke, Liverpool and West Ham.

They are just less predictable to me and when rotating lesser defenders I usually would want to start them for home fixtures in general.

That probably just about sums it up. If I knew McNair were nailed I'd definitely bring him in. May bring two of the three in in the next few weeks though. So perhaps room for both.

That's not as bad. But it's still fooking inhumane.

I was on a 223 FFS. Only ever got two and a half days off max, mostly 36 at a time. Thought the money was worth it, briefly.

Ouch. I do like 4 days off 2.5 days off is worse with nights you don't get a proper break at all as you have to sleep for a chunk.

These Downing & Chadli injuries have really scuppered my plans for next week. I may be forced to play Pelle & Tadic v MCI now. It's all good fun though & I'll just take hits if required. I love the trade rage lol.

Would there be any chance of a Clyne double rise?

I want to get rid, and unless he rises twice, his selling value won't change. Pondering whether to pull the trigger, or not.

I have him too & thinking of keeping/benching & just getting rid of Tadic/Pelle. If you can cover Clyne for a couple of games then keep.

Doubt it, even with a big score this week there'd be enough people who know the fixtures that will be transferring him out which will offset any rise.

I'm also doubting the popular opinion that Soton will continue to get attacking points and their defence will suffer. I think it could just as easily go the other way, their defence is one of the best on the league and even the good sides could struggle to break it down.
