I put Eriksen in the last time his 'fixtures were turning good', he proceeded to do nothing, got subbed at the break in one game and 60mins in another, so don't be fooled.

There is a game to play tonight for Eriksen, see how it goes for him. Both is better methinks.

Yeah, the fewer the hits the better. Although I took a hit for Moore->Hutton this week. I would have had Saylor(1pt) so that's a 3pt profit and Moore is gone forever. They can work! 🙂

Based on fact LVG and Rooney both said be for for last night I brought Rooney in for a minus four hit
    Rooney doesn't play

At same time I switched out ADM for Wanyama on account of his better scoring record than Boyd
    Boyd scores

Panicked last night and captained Siggy
    Fail

If I had waited I would, as a united fan, have just switched ADM for Mata

There's a lot of Boyd/Hutton envy on here, bemoaning people's 'luck' for owning them. Isn't the exact point of a cheap 5th midfielder that they come in when required, and deliver when you need them to?

When you look at their alternatives:

Boyd, who plays 90 mins every GW as part of a forward line vs - Cork: doesn't play, doesn't get forward, Ameobi: useless, Cattermole: card machine, Obertan: always injured.

Hutton, first choice right back with a good GK behind him and great fixtures vs - Duff: plays for Burnley, injuries, Moore: plays for Leicester, rotation, Yun: plays for QPR (full stop)

These are like no-brainers aren't they? The only luck I can see is that we have them when big guns fail, but that eventuality is the only and precise reason we have them.

I'm not complaining for having Boyd in your team. It's just that those who brought in Rooney this GW don't deserve it IMO. They knew he was doubtful & still risked it. Lets assume it's fair play for them but those sensible people who brought in Bony for eg. knewing the situation with Rooney don't deserve this.

      1. Joggers Nipple

And agree with too, bringing in Rooney while flagged is an odd move though

        1. Black Knights
          • 12 Years
          9 years, 6 months ago

Absolutely. It sort of makes the pleasure of seeing that wild decision fail a bit less satisfying, as many will now have points coming in. Boyd is only owned by 3% of the game though, so not everyone will benefit!

      2. Black Knights
        • 12 Years
        9 years, 6 months ago

Yeah I see what you mean. There's a difference between having good fifth choice players (as soon as Costa was suspended I was happy to play Boyd, for example), and managing to luck into him coming off your bench when you go out of your way to try to not play him.

    4. Solenya
      • 12 Years
      9 years, 6 months ago

The whole point of the uber cheap 5th midfielder is to score 2 ptrs, not goals, least of all scoring goals when a main stay player is out. Plus, those who started with Marney, etc , hardly any point in using a transfer on that trade, thus the moaning is justified 😉

Haa yes, this. To coin a football phrase, 'it evens itself out over a season'. The people who benefit from Boyd and Hutton this week will more than likely have them on their bench if/when they score well again. Better to have some points than no points though.

        1. Qubit
          • 15 Years

Not necessarily over a season, it may take longer than that to even out, but yes it should even out eventually.

No, that's never been based in any fact at all. But some people have some luck sometimes, others have it other times. Last week I was desperate for Chambers to come off my bench for Baines, and then Baines played and got 1.

    7. Cesc, Drogs & Rock and …

My envy comes from when I make the wrong choice between putting Naylor/Hutton and Fabi/Guzan in my starting line-up.

And even when the Swans do well, they still don't get same number of points as the Villains: Naylor YC and Guzan save points!

      1. Black Knights
        • 12 Years
        9 years, 6 months ago

Ah yes, I played Guzan and Naylor, and left Hutton on the bench. Apparently Guzan should've been credited with a 6th save, which would've also added a bonus point. We missed out on 2 points there.

I hate the feeling when you already have played your (c) and it didn't work out, especially when big teams like Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Everton etc. haven't played yet.. You know that green will turn red

Yeah, quite happy I wussed out and changed captaincy from Bony to Aguero at the last minute! Even if nothing pans out at least I have hope for tonight!

Don't speak too soon, I captained Sanchez last GW over ADM and Costa and turned out it was the right choice.

Evening all, different crowd so I thought I'd ask again

    Fabianski Myhill
    Terry Clyne Wisdom Vlaar Bruce
    Wanyama Hazard Siggy Sanchez Downing
    Austin Costa Kun
    0.1ITB

The only move I'm really considering anymore is Vlaar to Hutton, Thoughts? or should I stick?

After a serious tantrum last night, I am back to normal.

My ML lead has been wiped out in recent weeks, and injuries are to root cause. But, all is not lost.

I am 8 points clear with Bertrand, Baines, Chambers, Sanchez, Chadli and Ageuro still to play.

My rival has Ivanovic, Azpi, Chambers, Fabregas, Toure, Tadic and Aguero (c) still to play.

So I fully expect him to overtake me this week.

But we're still in the fight. So let's get this squad ready for a packed Christmas schedule and try to come out of December in pole position.
